What a cool concept and chance to learn history! We stayed in the museum hostel "cell block" rooms with no frills, and loved it! The rest of the hotel was very modern and well-appointed. Very pretty park and wooden boat row nearby, and a 10 min walk to Hornstull Centre. Beach just out the front door, but swimming not recommended.

Though the room is a cell, the size of the bathroom is very nice, so one doesn't feel suffocated. Cool place to see and read the history. Great location-quite to sleep, but close to the city. Incredible breakfast, really incredible (see pictures). Fun to become a tourist in your own city.

Stepping into Sweden's most perilous prison was surreal. Amidst stern guards and tense corridors, I glimpsed lives entrenched in hardship, resilience, and a delicate thread of humanity. The experience left me humbled, aware of the fragility that separates us from the world's darker realities.

Everything was so amazing untill i saw our room it was so little room that i could not breath but the good service helped us to get a big room with 4 beds. The breakfast not like 5 stars hotell in Egypt or China or paris. its a little bufe with some normal food. i dont care about how the food was, i care about how the hotell has a intresting and scary museem. also u can take a so beutiful pictures with the amazing view.

It's really cold in rooms. Now is 19C - it is really cold, and convectors are increased to max. Water in bathroom is max 38C warm... not enough... Tv's are old, and you cannot connect any other device with HDMI, because there is no space to plug it in... That hotel is the worst in Stockholm from 4 hotels I've visited...

Absolutely amazing feeling to be sleeping in a cell! There is so much history in this building. Staff friendly, cuisine very very nice! Totally recommend it!

An unusual place on a very green island that truly gives you the feeling of being far away from everything. I really loved my short stay. The island is fairly well-connected to the city center with two buses that pass very frequently, about a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Around the hotel, it's very quiet, and beautiful walks can be done. Pros: Unique location (former prison) Quiet and green island Nice breakfast 24/7 service Cons: Very small room Rooms poorly insulated, and during cold weather, it can be felt quickly Unable to adjust the heating

The decorations are great, but they don't correspond to what I personally like (prison). The service is very good and so is the breakfast. For the location, it's not in the city centre, so you have to walk 15 minutes, but it an able you to see beautiful streets in Stockholm and also mojang studios !

We stayed in 2 x twin rooms, 4 of us. Rooms are clean and very prison like - great authenticity. Buffet Breakfast is about 12 Euro and is pretty good. The beach is only 2min walk and great for cooling down in summer. Bus stop is about 7min walk. I would recommend this hotel / hostel and would visit again

I enjoyed my stay here and the small rooms didn't bother me at all, kind of cozy, a kettle in the room would have been great though. It's a nice place to stay during summer, with the small beach and the green surroundings and there are nice restaurants near by. Enjoyed the walk a long the waterfront into the city center, but it's not something you do twice a day because of the distance.

Had a great stay in this hotel that is a converted jail. The museum was small but informative. Food was great but when eating outside beware birds swooping in try the breakfast with you. Rooms are cosy. Merchandise was good too - loved the prisoner t shirt. I would recommend staying.

Unser Liebling in Stockholm. Frühstück bitte unbedingt dazu Ordnern. Im Sommer auf der Terrasse einzunehmen. Wirklich fantastisch. Gute, zentrale Lage.

Vielen Dank!

Amazing experience. Do not pass on breakfast. There is homemade Nutella, homemade peanut butter, bread etc... And they are really really good at it too. A unique prison hotel experience, a wonderful breakfast experience, amazing and super helpful and friendly staff, and the location is perfect

I wasn't impressed when I discovered I was going to be staying in a converted prison, but I had to eat my words. The building has been beautifully converted into a hotel and has well-designed bedrooms ('cells') with en-suite bathrooms. The food in the restaurant was incredibly good! Book ahead because it gets booked up. The island that the hotel is on is just lovely: so pretty and peaceful. We will definitely be going back. Just remember to take your sleep mask if you go in the summer, as it never really gets dark at night.

Rooms are small but very well kept and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The complementary breakfast next door was great. The location is a short walk to public transit and the whole island is beautiful and worth wandering around.

One of the coolest hotels I've ever been to! Nice staff, great room (chose the bunk bed for prison feeling and slept like a baby 😂) and breakfast was just perfect 🥰 they even sell their own shirt at a reasonable price. Would definitely go there again when being back in Stockholm.

So nice to stay at the prison Långholmen. Comfortable family room for 4. Superb breakfast. Nice museum. Walking distance to Hornstull and "Söder", lots of restaurants and much more. Highly recommend!

I was struck by the hotel's breathtaking surroundings. Långholmen Island is a serene oasis in the heart of Stockholm, boasting lush greenery, tranquil waterfront views, and an unmistakable sense of calm. The blend of modern amenities with subtle nods to the building's past creates a charming and inviting atmosphere. My room featured comfortable bedding, a well-equipped bathroom, and ample natural light that made for a pleasant and relaxing stay.

This is a very old prison with cells converted on hotel rooms (but we'll executed). Food was good, and the service charming. Amazing, beautiful, out of town location. (But one can almost sense a few ghosts ...)

Well, I booked this hotel blindly, but never regretted :) It used to be a women prison back in centuries, and now it's a very nice hotel. The rooms are very small - they used to be real prison cells. Everything is clean and nice.

Probably one of the nicest stays I've had in a while! Don't be surprised by the prison theme :) Book it now! Stockholm is beautiful and waiting for you to visit

We stayed 2 days in Långholmen and the experience was so different and good. Staff was good, rooms were clean and breakfast was adequate, beds were comfortable. Also the experience of staying in a cell was such a different thing so try this place if you are looking for a price/performance.

A bit far from the centre, but the overall stay was ok for the price. The room was never cleaned whilst i stayed there(no fresh towels etc) though, and the bedding and towels cost extra.

Lovely, incredibly well curated and fool of details to remind you that you are in a former prison. I loved my stay! Also: the breakfast is super :P

Small bed but otherwise really nice place. Food and service 5/5! Highly recommended if you want a cool change in your basic hotel routines.

Spending your nights in an old prison is original at the least. The rooms are smalle but very comfortabel with a very nice bathroom. All over the hotel there are nooks and salons where you can sit to have drink, a talk of a quiet read. The have an awesome breakfast buffet with all sports of bread, cheese, meats, fruits and veg, and even goodies for your sweet tooth. Service is good and friendly and they location is spectacular!

Very cozy rooms, silent and clean. The hotel was a prison before, which makes it a really good experience to live. They have a free parking and the location of the hotel is good, it is located in the middle of Stockholm with beautiful views close to the hotel to the water.

We are a couple that stayed here in November 2021. Place is great - it is quite fresh, located in a quite place with water and park around. It is not central and rooms are quite small (those were prison cells before). Price includes the visit to museum, parking and even a fantastic breakfast.

We stayed in the hostel side of the Långholmen Hotel with my partner and really enjoyed our stay. Staff was very friendly and lovely. Room was clean and small ofc (it's an old cell) but I didn't mind. In hostel side linens and towels cost extra but not much. Breakfast was ~120 kr. and worth every penny I think. Staff made porridge by request which was a plus for me. Area where the hotel is situated is so nice and I loved that there was a small beach right next to it, perfect to quickly dip in after a warm day. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place and would want to stay in again when I come back to Sweden!
