So,
what
is
an
open-air
museum?
Simply
put,
it's
like
a
theme
park
with
different
attractions,
but
instead
of
rides,
you
get
recreation
of
everyday
buildings
from
different,
mixed
with
different
animal
exhibits.
Like
a
zoo
mixed
with
architectural
features.
As
the
oldest
open-air
museum
in
the
world,
Skansen
features
life-sized
buildings
from
different
eras
and
interesting
animal
exhibits.
We
loved
the
aquarium,
lynx,
Artic
fox
and
reindeer,
though
we
did
not
get
to
see
the
brown
bear.
The
animal
exhibits
to
us
are
definitely
the
main
attraction,
as
we
get
to
see
them
up
close.
Expect
to
walk
a
lot
here,
as
the
entire
area
is
huge.
Do
bring
the
map
together
with
you
as
it
is
easy
to
get
lost
here.
It
took
us
half
a
day
to
cover
what
we
wanted
to
cover,
and
even
that
we
did
not
finish
everything.
We
visited
in
the
end
of
August,
on
a
weekday,
and
the
place
was
quite
quiet,
with
many
stalls
closed.
The
atmosphere
was
quite
subdued
as
a
result,
but
we
still
enjoyed
the
experience
here.
Being
open
air,
the
weather
plays
a
part
in
the
experience
too,
so
be
sure
to
check
the
weather
before
visiting.
There
are
several
food
options
inside
the
park
as
well,
though
some
may
get
quite
difficult
to
serve
you
should
there
be
too
big
a
crowd.
Expect
tourist
price
as
well.
We
did
had
two
simple
meals
and
an
ice-cream
while
visiting,
all
which
are
decent.
If
you
have
never
seen
an
open
air
museum
before
this
place
is
a
must,
as
it's
something
that
is
unique
to
the
culture.
It's
also
fun
too.
