We booked a room for 1 night on boxing day as we were visiting family, Room was clean and concidering the rooms are above the pub it was suprisingly quiet, the bed was comfortable as well. breakfast was tasty. we thought it was value for money and staff were friendly and polite and we didnt feel rushed we felt that it was a laid back atmosphere. we were lucky enough to of booked on a night that there was a group/band on in the pub and we managed to catch some of it, they were good.

Completely underated for food. I had the special, tuna steak with apagragus and egg and it was the best I've tasted for a long time. Well done to the chef, highly recommended

Very welcoming, friendly pub/hotel, lovely food, good bands and entertainment, pool and darts available, plenty of sport on TV, good wine and plenty of beer and larger choice. Central location.

Well what a disappointing visits. Firstly we turn up to watch the rugby England v New Zealand on the Saturday only to find that they don't put it on, on time and we miss the start... then I ask about Sunday dinner and booking a table, the guy behind the bar says it'll be ok no need to book a table. We turn up on Sunday five of us my daughter, and grandaughter amongst the five came down from Durham especially only to find that there's no tables free, all booked up...What a Joke of an establishment.. we come up from Derbyshire my daughter and family from Durham and we get this... my experience of Irish pubs, and I've been to alot in Ireland isn't this... very poor.

Close to the seaside and where the 'strip' is. Reasonably priced drinks, staff are casual but polite and the food has a variety of pub classics. Vegetarian friendly as well, girlfriend had a variety of things to choose from

Always a great choice for a family meal. Food was consistently good, generous portions and reasonably priced. We were served by a friendly team.

Disappointed to say the least, because throughout the week the food in this place is exceptional, however today was Sunday and I ordered a roast. Absolutely tasteless, the whole plate of food. Never in my life had such a tasteless meal. Is there a different chef on during weekends, or does the volume of meals being put out affect the quality of the food? Needs sorting out that. Devastated

Went for dinner tonight, far from good, we ordered haddock and chips, chicken goujons meal, Chinese chicken curry. Curry was good, fish and chicken goujons were awful. The batter was so thick you couldn't get a knife through it. No member of staff came to check if our food was ok until we had eventually put our cutlery down. Don't think we will be coming back any time soon and certainly will not be recommending.

A very friendly and family friendly pub with a separate restaurant area away from the sports TVs. The food was traditional pub grub (done extremely well) with some specialities such as cod and chorizo. Something for everyone. Generous portions and a great price point. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the cosy warm atmosphere. A good combination of a pub that looks after everyone's needs. Would definitely visit again.
