👍👍 This marks one of our favourite Japanese Restaurant in Gold Coast! We really enjoyed our date night here at Anekawa. We requested to be seated at the bar to watch chefs make our 9 course omakase, was a very enjoyable show for us. We would be back regularly for sure! Food was divine, made from seas... We requested to be seated at the bar to watch chefs make our 9 course omakase, was a very enjoyable show for us. We would be back regularly for sure! Food was divine, made from seasonal fresh local produce and love from the chefs! Service from Colleen and Rachel welcoming and warm, lovely to chat with! We hope to see you both again! The score is for the 【service】, not food. My friend and I arrived 10 min late, but when we arrived no one say hi to us, no one led us to the table,we were just standing for a while. Then finally we got seat. Since we only have 2hrs to finish the dinner(informed when booking), so we just fast ordered the 8 courses for tonight, Honestly was in a hurry. 2.5-3hrs would be better. During the whole process of dinner, no one refilled our water until asked. Also about the payment, we would like to split the bill. Normally the staff will ask pay separately or together, but here the senior waitress didn’t want to split our bill. I know some restaurants refuse split bills, but hopefully inform this on booking page if you aren’t accept split bills. About【food】, it’s unusual that 6 dishes of “8 course” are shared in one plate, instead of present individually. Also, just feel there are too many fish appear in this “8 courses”, starts: oysters, king fish, tuna; then steam egg with squid; Main dish: fry fish, which we think was the weakness one. If the main dish could be red meat , like beef or pork belly which might make the whole process more rhythmical and coherent. 【Highlight】the black sauce which are seaweed and soy sauce or something under the kingfish is interesting. The texture of Tofu is really creative, like mochi. The chestnut rice with saffron crocus is delicious!

That was possibly the best meal I've ever had. We got the set menu and it was so worthwhile, so many astounding dishes. They were so good they kind of didn't make sense, how is it possible to put a few ingredients together and produce what we ate last night? Even something as simple as the Dashi had that extra hint of magic... It's simply mind boggling. Service was also great, efficient and friendly.. I've since been back. The shock of amazing food fades, but it is still worthwhile revisiting.

One of the best dining experiences I’ve had! The food is amazing, and the staff so pleasant. We had a late reservation and my young daughter also couldn’t eat most of the dishes so my hubby took her out to get some food and when he came back it was past their closing time. The staff was immensely understanding and patient and even reheated his food for him! I would definitely be coming back soon and telling my friends about this gorgeous place.

Just popped in for a dessert and tea on the way home. Totally amazing!!! Looking forward to dinner here really soon. Beautiful place, divine food, impeccable service 👍❤ Wow, just wow!!! Have since returned for dinner and all I can say is the chef is a magician. We had the very best evening ever, seated at the bar overlooking the dishes being prepared and having the opportunity to discuss the dishes as they were presented was a rare pleasure indeed. Every dish was exquisite, some had punchy flavours, others more subtle but each and every dish was utterly perfect. Pretty much can't top that. Speechless. Will certainly be back. Rave about it to everyone. So much more I could say: the freshest of ingredients selected with care so the menu is constantly changing; the selection of complementary drinks; the first class service; watching it all run smoothly even when they get busy - just amazing. Go and enjoy for yourself. Several thousand out of ten 👍😍🙏❤❤❤

I have not been so impressed with a restaurant in such a long time! Anekawa was an amazing culinary experience. The restaurant has an intimate ambiance, the service was highly attentive and friendly and the food was outstanding 🤩 The dishes are all so well balanced using beautiful fresh local ingredients. You can see how much thought and detail are put into each dish and the gorgeous vibrant colours on each plate present like an artwork. There are vegan options too and they were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Anekawa Japanese restaurant!

Had a wonderful night at this little gem, small intimate setting, perfect for dates or celebrate special occasions. Even in such small room, it was quiet without much echoing even at almost capacity and can carry on proper convo. Service was attentive, water always refilled before empty and waitstaff noticed drink is empty and ask if needs another promptly. Food was presented beautifully and explained in detail for each dish, of course they all taste delicious.

The best Japanese fine dining. Vegan options are top-notch and food is presented nicely. Flavors are rich and filling.

We were lucky enough to secure a booking at Anekawa after many attempts. Went on a Friday night at 7pm, just the two of us. We've dined at many lovely restaurants, and after reading reviews were excited to visit Anekawa. We certainly were not disappointed!! Hard to find the door behind the curtains, but very intimate atmosphere. The service was wonderful from start to finish. Delicious wines and Sake, but the food. Amazing doesn't even feel a good enough word. Such deliberate effort in presentation, complimenting tastes, flavour balance, just brilliant. We sat at the bench, so we watched our appellation oysters shucked in front of us and presented fresh. Sashimi, cut fresh. I can't describe every meal, but whilst I normally find something I might like differently, nothing in any of my dishes would I change. Do yourself a flavour, save some dollars and treat yourself! Thanks team for a wonderful dining experience!

The atmosphere was very nice. The presentation of the dishes was also beautiful. The Gotofu was the most delicious. The steamed fish in Chawan-mushi was a bit fishy. Other dishes were decently tasty, but the portion sizes were very small and the prices were too high. The apple dessert was extremely bitter and unpleasant. The way the waiter cleared the plates was rough, and I was worried the plates might break. The paint on the wooden spoons was peeling off, which was off-putting. Even after spending nearly $100/person, we didn't feel full, so you might want to head to Maccas after!

Let me first say we have been to this restaurant 6 times previously & enjoyed every meal. This time very disappointing, the seafood was over cooked & chewy.Rice was bland. My husband ordered his steak blue/rear & it was suppose to be eye fillet, tasted like offal & was tough, the chef asked me how I would like mine cooked my reply was I don’t eat steak however I still received it which I didn’t eat they offered me chicken but it was too late I wasn’t going to eat when everyone had finished. I got a choice of ice cream when everyone got Mango & got a cocktail free however that does not make a big difference when you pay nearly $300 for a meal you don’t enjoy. Service slow, waiting for extra sauce & drinks, it seems that this restaurant caters for people that stay ant RACV and never come back rather than locals. There is many other Japanese restaurants worth trying
