Great place for relaxing or walking your dog in peace without a myriad of bicycles passing by. Park is tidy & well maintained with good walking tracks. Some lovely stands of trees & native wattle. If you're lucky you may spot a koala or frilly lizard

Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre offeres various walking tracks and has the public amenities such as toilets. The location has sufficient parking facility and has kids friendly park too. Be careful if you are waling in the tracks as sometime GPS lacks of the signals. The walkin tracks are generally straight without much elevations.

Excellent park that's got everything anyone needs. They've got the Karawatha Discovery Centre which has beautiful information of the forest and many interactive sessions to immerse visitors to all the forest has to offer. They've got massive hiking and walking trails to help you connect with nature. Trails are suited for beginners and advanced walkers/runners alike. Many people bring their dog for walks. They've got nice structures for kids to climb on (even adults too). They've got a wiflde area that can be used for picnics, and the surrounding forest ensures its never too hot. They've got good grade washrooms available. Annnd they have a BBQ area! Quite well designed and thought of. It is a large environment and can easily accommodate a large crowd without looking overcrowded. In short.. This is an excellent place to lose yourself for a few hours. I love coming here.

Karawatha Forest Park is a nature lover's haven with winding trails, and diverse wildlife. Amidst this natural beauty, you'll find plenty of well-maintained picnic areas equipped with barbecue grills—a perfect setup for a delightful outdoor meal. The abundance of clean and conveniently located toilets enhances the overall experience. For families, the interactive info center adds an educational touch, making it great for kids to explore and learn about the park's flora and fauna. It's a complete package for a day of relaxation and enjoyment in nature.

Nice park and learning center in Logan. The discovery centre is full of learning activities for kids. You can also see some animals such as frogs inside the centre. Toilets are clean. Helpful staff. Parking can be limited on public holidays and weekends. Ample picnic area.

A nice walk through open bushland. I got there just before the discovery centre closed so I didn't go in. I did however speak to the 2 ladies at the counter who were very helpful and pointed me in the direction of the walking trails and supplied a map. I walk fairly briskly and completed the rocks and ironbark circuits in just under 40 mins. The ironbark circuit is fully sealed and wheelchair accessible. The rocks circuit is crushed gravel with some wooden steps. The landscape is open, nice to walk around on a warm afternoon with a cool breeze.

Beautiful and so quiet. Can enjoy peace and quiet and some of the best tracks for walking and running. BBQs and seating , display center as well. Public toilets as well.

A central location for many of the walks around the forest area. The discovery centre has a few events on during the year and several information boards both inside and and surrounding the discovery centre. Toilets nearby alongside a children's playground not far.

Nice place. It's good for birthday party or something like that. But there is a big "BUT". There is a very small parking. A lot of people and about 30 parking places including theoretically forbidden parts of the road.

Great walks for the active, discovery centre and nature play area for the littlies and lots of picnic areas. There are two entrances, choose the Discovery centre one for easy walks and picnic area.

There is a lot of shade here, with outdoor activities like pumping water, climbing equipment and nice footpaths, tables, BBQs etc. The discovery centre is a bonus indoor space for the kids to enjoy, ensuring they don't get bored with just being outside in the playground and going on walks.

Lovely walks here for all ages and most levels of fitness. Loads of picnic tables too. The scenery is truly lovely! Free filtered water at the Discovery Centre, to refill one's water bottles after a walk, is a great initiative! It'll be much improved once the extended parking area is completed, as parking can be very frustrating on weekends or public holidays. Would also be helpful to have an easy walking map, in colour with landmarks, rather than the small black and white one we were given.

The Discovery Centre itself is well-designed and modern, providing a wealth of information about the forest's biodiversity and conservation efforts. Interactive displays, educational exhibits, and engaging presentations make it a fantastic destination for families, school groups, or anyone with a keen interest in the environment. One of the highlights of my visit was the network of walking trails that weave through the forest. These paths offer an opportunity to explore the natural wonders at your own pace. By chance you can see kangaroos in there we saw one.

Great location for the adventurous. Theres quite a few hiking trails to follow. Lots of young families seem to love it here. There's also plenty of space to bring your children and lots of things you can do - play areas, bush walking, picnics, exploring a small discovery centre and more. Plenty of space to kick a ball around if you bring your own. For a free location, this is awesome for a day trip!

A fantastic experience for anyone interested in wildlife and the forest. Lots of entertainment for children including coloring in, interactive projections of animals and aquatic creatures. A visual and sensory experience that is unforgettable in the dark air-conditioned theater room. A roof projection of the stars and the clouds where daytime turns into night. Full of animal audio and visual surprises. Lots of trails from beginner to experienced. Covered seating areas with BBQs. Public amenities including toilets.

Definitely not just for kids, so many things to see and do. The rangers were very informative and there are plenty of interactive displays

  • 3/5 Ahmed E. 2 years ago on Google
A very well developed wilderness area with pristine forest and very good picnic facilities. If you are wanting to view wildlife you may be disappointed and a large enclosed area that we looks more like a prison compound spoils the experience. Unisex toilets were my final disappointment.

  • 5/5 D.L. C. 3 months ago on Google New
An excellent park for a hike, bike ride, or family gathering. The Discovery Center has lots of activities and information regarding the flora and fauna of the area as well as activity rooms for visitors to have a deeper exploration of various topics. We didn't use these, so you will have to give them a ring or visit their website to get booking details or a schedule of upcoming events. There's lots of covered picnic areas and shared propane grills. These areas are on a first-come basis, so you may need to arrive early to get a prime location. Restrooms are clean and scattered around the park, so there shouldn't be long lines to relieve yourself. There are also ample water fountains. The grass areas beneath the trees are very inviting and quite suitable for a mid-morning or early afternoon snooze. The park is free.

What a fabulous place for a family day out! I loved visiting Karawatha Forest, the Discovery Centre was great and lots of fun even as an adult and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I spent a couple of hours exploring the great walking tracks, saw loads of birds and a few walabies and loved sitting up on the rocks with my nature journal. The facilities here are great, easy parking, toilets, bbqs, seating and plenty of space to run around or relax. I visited in a Saturday morning and it was busy but not crowded as there is lots of different areas Beautiful job Brisbane City Council I cant wait to go back for the 10km track

Lots going on with activities for young and old. You will need to prebook for these online. The education centre office there gives out 2 native plants if you show them your rates notice per year. Great for families to enjoy the bush walk or group parties under the sheltered areas.

Lovely nature centre highlighting the local flora and fauna. Super interactive for the kids with fun themes and colours etc. Fully immersive theatre showing weather. Kids always have a great time. Staff are friendly and helpful. Can bring your rates in and get your two free plants also. Full amenities with table areas scattered around. Great picnic spot. The tracks are also great to walk with kids or pram etc as they are paved path ways into the bush. Great day to explore the centre and surrounding bush lands.
