Love the fact that you are in the centre of a city & have all this beautiful space & bush in which to hike or walk. You can take your dog & there are good city views on some tracks. Cyclists are supposed to stay on designated tracks only, (which they do not!!) so walkers sometimes manage to get a pleasant stroll without the hassles of trying to dodge them. There still seems to be the occasional rule breakers though which council should be looking into. We have sighted the occasional koala, lizards, snakes & powerful owls πŸ¦‰.

Beautiful walks not far from the city to take your dog on leash. There’s quite a few routes from the main picnic area to choose from, with the main route being paved and suitable for strollers of wheelchairs. Lots of bird life to see within the forest park, and most of the routes are shaded. A few lookouts and small playground areas within.

A forest inside the Brisbane! Except for some areas close to roads, you can't even tell you are inside a big city. Plants and trees are quite diverse in different areas of the park.

Gorgeous piece of forest in the south side of the city. Most paths suitable for bikes, prams and people who use wheelchairs, though some paths are steep, so that's a consideration. Dogs permitted on leash. Lots of friendly people, but not crowded. We were lucky enough to see a koala.

Great place for a walk or workout with walking tracks for all levels. There are a few picnic tables, toilets and bbqs, off street parking, but can get full pretty quickly. Koala spotting as well as others animals and reptiles. A few locations , so amenities and parking is different.

Sometimes a little hard to find a park, but a lovely bush area which you can choose concrete pathway or forest track. You can walk your dog on leash there too. Here's native wattle (I think) there

This is a nice trail in Toohey forest reserve area. The trail has asphalt roads for bikers / walkers. The signage are good. Not much slopes and easy walk for dogs too.

Amazing space, close to the city and easy access for families or walking track enthusiasts. Take care to avoid all the animals. I was lucky enough to see an Emu.

Beautiful park with many trails. Some trails are shared while some are solely for walking. A small section is closed but majority of the park is still open. Some of the shared trails can be a bit steep so wear proper footwear.

Toohey Forest 🌳 oasis close to the city on the Southside . Access various locations from university, Tarragindi , Holland Park and Salisbury . Many walking tracks to choose from . Small carpark along Toohey rd access with toilets and bbq facilities. All trails is a great app to see the range of walking trails otherwise at entrance to Toohey forest 🌳 is map πŸ—ΊοΈ of distances and pathways. Dog πŸ• friendly with a leash as this is a reserve of fauna and flora .

Took the kids and pram for a walk for exercise, great way to keep them off their phones. A couple of great routes depending on how long you want to walk 4. Whether its 1k or 3ks. The Kids didn't know what that smell was....fresh air!

What a great little walk. Easy to do work kids or a pregnant wife! Take some water.

This is a really great walk to do, the path is reasonably smooth meaning it's great for everyone. It is a little bit hilly in areas but nothing too major. Each way it's about 2km in length. I've visited many times in my electric wheelchair and always have a great time.

  • 5/5 Natasha I. 2 years ago on Google
My first visit and definitely not my last! Whether you stick to the paved pathways or venture along the bush walking tracks, everything is wonderfully maintained and well signposted. A great place to wander and blow the cobwebs away!

Great little spot for going on an easy stroll through Toohey Forest. Clean amenities, with a nice small wooden section pram accessible. Some seating for rest stops. Very relaxing.

  • 5/5 Bob S. 2 years ago on Google
Great walk! It's quite short, so good for little kids. The main path is wide and concreted. Great views for the little effort too! It's amazing how you can hear the road noise of the motorway but be in the middle of a forest like this!

A dream of a day where you can truly lose yourself. Solitary, clean, and so many little paths to explore and wander. Go by yourself or the family and take a break from it all. It's a truly magical place.

Toohey Forest has a good variety of low to moderate difficulty level walking track Families with pram or very long children in addition to those using mobility aids will be glad to know some of the tracks are pathed. Whilst the slightly more adventurous can take advantage of the well worn dirt tracks. There are many tracks at Toohey part, many of which intersect making for a walk that can last as long as you like. Just a few minutes or several hours, you decide. Some tracks are more popular than others, so planning before coming and knowing what kind of experience you're after is key. There's plenty to see here, both in terms of flora and fauna. The only downside is there are lots of tracks that are currently closed to the public for regeneration efforts.

Two koalas spotted on our Saturday walk 27/08/22 which is a PB, plenty of good walking tracks to choose from.

A great sanctuary amongst suburbia, yet to spot a koala there but I have been told they hide well.

I didn't find anything particularly special about this hiking trail. The entrance is quite simple and a bit hard to locate if you rely solely on Google Maps. It appears that most hikers here are locals. Personally, I don't think I will be returning to this trail.

Beautiful spot and nice mix of paved walking and dirt track. A bit noisy towards the main road but that decipates as you walk further into the forest. Good parking an amenities and some nice spots to look out and sit down along the trails

We came on a weekend. It's a popular spot but I've always gotten a park. Haven't been here for a while. It's been well maintained. Home to koalas but we didn't see any. I haven't used the bbq or picnic areas. There are options to do a variety of walks and cycling tracks too. The dogs enjoyed it. The undercover areas and toilet block are handy.

Great place for a hike or a bike ride close to the city. Some dirt and gravel tracks which are fun up and down and some nice loops. Best time to ride is late at night when no pedestrians.

Popular place for workouts (Biking, hiking and jogging). Gives some nice views of Brissy suburbs around. Wilderness and prehistoric natural artefacts (Sandstones) can be reasons for interest.

I have no memory of this place. Google doesn't have a satellite overlay for its location history from here, so I can't see if it looks familiar. It clearly has a Pokemon gym, since I was trying to finish the master ball raid task that day, but I don't remember if there were many or just one. It was probably fine.

  • 4/5 Alyssa S. 3 months ago on Google New
It was decent, there’s not a lot of other hiking tracks in the area. Picnic would be nice to have here. The view isn’t amazing as it’s all industrial but still a nice place to be out in nature

Lovely trails, sealed paths and dirt paths. Beautiful scenery and nice meandering. A decent place for some mountain bike exploring on short single trails (not marked so be wary, you may come across pedestrians too).

A small but well kept fragment of European Brisbane. A lot of good tracks...infact, too many. No water but an obvious spot for a lunchtime walk

  • 4/5 John S. 4 years ago on Google
Easy walks through natural bushland. Cover by a myriad of paths. The main ones are well signposted or get off the beaten track to a minor path. Be aware of direction as they can twist and turn, taking you in unexpected directions. Plenty of water, good shoes and a camera.

  • 4/5 Mark R. 3 years ago on Google
Good variation of paths. Great for walking. Beginner cyclists may need to push up some steep hills.

Freindlly people encountered on many tracks, remember to use your bell and it's not a race, pace it and enjoy the many bird songs all around you.

The tracks through Toohey Forest are well maintained and nice and wide. There are lots of them so you can time your walks for various lengths if time but the maps aren't that detailed so you need to take some care otherwise yiu might br walking for much longer yhan you anticipated.
