Second time here and got takeaway this time. I had the chicken katsu donburi ($16) and wifey the pork katsu curry ($16.80). Both were a good sized portion and had maximum flavour, so we're happy to order again in future. My first visit was a few months ago with a colleague who's been telling me for some time now about this Japanese joint in Rochedale South that he's been to numerous times. Finally I managed a visit with him to check it out for myself. It's pretty popular for takeaways though I always prefer to dine in, so settled in for a feed. Photos attached to this review are from both visits. More thoughts from visit 1 are below: You wouldn't think a place like this has the best karaage... but I have to say it has probably the best karaage chicken I can recall eating in recent memory, and we only really ordered that as a bit of an afterthought 😅 These nicely fried chunks of chicken were large and partially pre-cut into quarters for easier handling/eating. Will definitely get again. Everything else was pretty decent and has the makings for some good value casual eats. Their sushi rolls are made fresh to order and whilst he didn't mind the one we chose this time, my colleague says other flavours are better. Overall I left satisfied with this ~$25/head meal and will mark it for a revisit. I think it's already a local favourite but if it's not already there you should put it on your radar 📡 Our order: * Angry crab roll, $14.90 - soft shell crab, lobster salad, lettuce and cucumber inside/fish egg * Katsudon, $15 - choice of chicken or pork * Yakitori, $8.50 - 2pc chicken skewer * Karaage, $9 - 4pc marinated deep fried chicken * Green tea, $2

I really enjoyed this place. Location: easy to find and the shop is easily accessible from carpark. They've got an outside seating area if you're not wanting to be the already cozy setup they've got inside. Very warm and welcoming vibes. Good customer service They'll greet you upon arrival and they're a great bunch! The food is delicious, I personally recommend the katsu donburi 🤤 Thanks for looking after us!

We have been here half a dozen times and love it! It's dog friendly, BYO, excellent service, and extremely fresh seafood. ❤️

We got takeaway & tried a couple of their rice and udon dishes. Quite disappointed with their udon dish. Their interpretation of vegetables were a few pieces of cabbage and HALF a bean cut into thirds lol. Definitely not worth $16.50.

Nothing to rave about. Was just OK food. Seemed like karage was overdosed with MSG or atleast tasted like it. Tofu was below average and sushi quality was same as any booth at shopping malls. Aside from taking order at counter and bringing food to table, there is no other service. They don’t even bother to check on you throughout the dinner

The place has a great atmosphere, really calming and chill. Good spot for a quick lunch. Although a little pricey then expected the portion size was good and filling. The curry was great. The staff were nice too.

The Pokke Donburi is amazing! The topping and sauce goes together very well. The Katsu in the Curry is nice and crispy, love how they seperate the Curry and katsu- it prevents the katsu from becoming soggy. The Teriyaki Fried Udon is a little too sweet, but is still delicious~ The sushi rolls are made perfectly, highly recommend!

Wow, so fresh and delicious! Really impressed. I had the mixed vegetable curry rice and it was presented beautifully. They served the curry sauce separately which is great because I don’t like the crumb coating getting all soggy and I was able to have only as much curry sauce as I wanted rather than my food get drowned in it. And the pickled red ginger on the side was not the nasty mass produced ginger you get at most places, it was totally different and I actually ate some (I normally hate the stuff).

Amazing sushi! Always fresh. Very Friendly and helpful staff, would highly recommend this place. My personal favourites is the natsumi roll and salmon nigiri 🙌🏻

When I crave freshly made Sushi i come here - never disappoints. You watch the chef make them behind the glass screen and witness the whole process - an art in itself. Also tried the dishes before and they are so good. Staff are very politely too. Thank you.

Excellent Katsu Curry Chicken. Friendly service too. A seaweed side dish goes well with it.

Food is very good, service is fast, you can eat in or take away. Eat in is basic but clean and Spartan.

Food was tasteful and well presented, service was outstanding. Even got a free dish with our big order ;) Would recommend you pay them a visit. I’ll definitely be visiting again when I come back to Brisbane!

Visited Natsumi Sushi at Rochedale the other night and while the food was good, the service was extremely poor. At least 2 other customers arrived after me and ordered and were given their food whilst I had to wait for 30 minutes before my 2 sushi rolls were ready . Unfortunately, very disappointed with the poor service.
