I
came
to
the
Primary
Care
section
with
half
my
body
covered
in
hives
and
my
bottom
lip
swelling.
The
nurse
who
checked
my
temperature
and
blood
pressure
was
an
absolute
angel.
She
was
the
sweetest,
warmest,
kindest
person.
She
even
managed
to
make
me
laugh
when
I
was
feel
scared!
What
a
legend.
A
big
thank
you
to
her
for
being
so
wonderful.
But
when
I
saw
the
doctor,
he
simply
told
me
to
take
another
OTC
antihistamine
(I'd
already
taken
two
that
day)
and
in
morning
I'd
be
better.
Well,
after
the
absolute
worst
night
of
my
life,
where
the
extremely
painful
hives
spread
to
the
rest
of
my
body
and
my
both
my
lips
became
so
swollen
I
could
barely
open
them
to
sip
a
glass
of
water,
my
family
called
a
doctor
for
me.
I
was
not
having
trouble
breathing,
which
is
why
I
asked
them
not
to
call
an
ambulance.
(It
goes
without
saying
if
you
are
having
trouble
breathing,
call
the
ambos!)
The
doctor
over
FaceTime
took
one
look
at
me,
said
I
was
having
an
allergic
reaction,
and
prescribed
me
steroid
tablets.
An
hour
after
taking
the
steroid
tablets,
my
lips
were
no
longer
swollen
and
the
hives
were
noticeably
calming.
She
even
prescribed
me
a
wafer
that
I
could
take
if
I
felt
sick.
I
don't
know,
but
it
seems
the
doctor
at
Gundu
Pa
was
happy
to
ascertain
that
I
was
not
going
into
anaphylactic
shock,
which
is
great,
but
then
he
did
nothing
to
treat
the
actual
allergy
I
was
experiencing.
Nothing
like
this
has
ever
happened
to
me
before,
so
if
I'd
known
I
was
experiencing
an
allergic
reaction,
I
would
have
demanded
better
care
then
being
told
to
take
an
over-the-counter
antihistamine
which
did
nothing.
That
night
was
honestly
the
worst,
most
painful
of
my
life
and
it
would
never
have
happened
if
I
was
given
appropriate
treatment
the
day
before
when
I
initially
sought
it
from
Gundu
Pa.
This
community
deserves
better
medical
care.
It
would
take
most
of
us
half-an-hour
to
reach
one
of
the
hospitals.
This
place
is
the
closest
many
of
us
have,
but
the
doctor
could
not
even
correctly
treat
an
allergic
reaction,
which
is
a
pretty
basic,
though
no
fun,
medical
occurrence.
