What a big park! So much open space and a lovely playground for the children to let them spot the various creatures around the park! Would recommend bringing your own chair so you can set it up anywhere you like, but I’m pretty happy with the big benches available around the playground. The nicest spot to sit would be on the cow 🐄, as it’s comfortable with backing and also right in the shade. There’s a cafe too, and seems to have a nice ambience about it. I had a lovely time, but would have loved to do their walking trails. Maybe next time! As it’s located near the airport, you would be able to hear and see airplanes too.

Brimbank Park is an absolute gem for family outings! With numerous BBQ spots scattered throughout, it's an ideal place for picnics. The playground adds an extra layer of fun for kids, while the presence of a cafe and public toilets make it convenient for everyone. It's a delightful spot to spend quality time outdoors with loved ones.

This park is massive! Excellent for a picnic, walk, footy, soccer and others. Very easy parking (even on a public holiday). Plenty of working BBQ. Pet friendly. Playground seems to be more suitable for older kids (4+)

A huge and great local park. Great to walk your dogs and children. There are many car park and picnic shelters, it is an idea place to host outdoor celebrations. If you want to immerse yourself in nature, this is the place to go to breath the fresh air, being surrounded by all nature elements of water, earth, wood and air. Love this park so much

Even though I don't live in the area, the park is pleasant to visit. I was showing a UK visitor around some of the northern suburbs parks and, even though the day was cool, the visit was quite relaxing.

I rediscovered this park recently. Haven't been for years. It's great for families, picnics or just having a nice walk through the parks trails. Beautiful playground area for children and a cafe to have some drinks or food or hide from the elements. Really like it is quiet not overcrowded most times.

I must have driven past this place 100 times before I visited today. 😯 What a surprise! This very spacious, historic park is a beautiful native Australian landscape and must be one of the best to keep secrets in Melbourne.

Was looking for new places to walk the dog and this was a nice surprise and a little oasis in the suburbs. Nice well kept walking tracks, good bbq and picnic areas as well as an abundance of bird life. We ended the walk with a stop at Lumbar Cafe where the menu was small but all the food was great. Had the steak sandwich and chips which we couldn't complain about and coffee was decent too.

One of my favourite local parks. So much space and plenty of walking trails, there are areas for picnics and a playground. A cafe is also a nice bonus for when you feel like a hot cuppa coffee on a cool day.

Hidden gem in the west, Brimbank park is a great place for families and dog people. Little cafe there to caffeinate before strolling along the Maribyrnong trail.

The hills, trees, grass, flowers, ducks, swans, rabbits, hares and other animals are amazing. Good for walking, BBQ, hiking, cycling, picnicking, suntanning, sports and other outdoor activities. The Maribyrnong River is clean and clear. The water is a mirror. The natural environment is quiet. Remember to apply sunscreen and insect repellent before you enter.

  • 5/5 Tammy C. 3 months ago on Google • 93 reviews New
Nice, clean picnic areas. There is plenty of space, not enough swings for kids, so take your own football, soccer, or cricket. If you just want some piece and quiet away from everything in a tranquil environment, this is the place. Great walking tracks, beautiful birds. Clean toilets.

The park's meticulous upkeep ensures a seamless fusion of nature and accessibility, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its tranquil ambience while exploring its diverse ecosystems. Whether strolling along the winding pathways or picnicking by the tranquil Maribyrnong River, Brimbank Park provides a rejuvenating retreat for nature enthusiasts and families alike, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking solace in the heart of Melbourne's west. Well maintained track.

I visited the park to take a walk. There is enough parking space on site. I was there on Monday evening and it wasn't very busy. It looks well maintained and the paths are well paved. There is a small river there and, a little higher up, a lot of grassy areas that invite you to linger. Overall, he made a positive impression on me.

Nice place for walk or run. So huge that you will not believe it's within the city. Highly recommended if you want to get away from the usual hustle. There's a cafe in the middle which is the cherry on top.

Great place for the kids and family in general. Personally have been going since I was a kid and lived close by as a local. Also a great place to mountain bike ride whether just within the park confines or onwards through the trail that will take you right through to Maribyrnong or further. 🚲

Great place to walk the tracks or set up for a picnic / BBQ. Feels like your in the country side

  • 5/5 Hello T. 2 years ago on Google
Simply amazing. Awesome walk, but I decided to take a dirt path uphill and it led me right on a road, far away from where I parked my car, so A few signs would be useful. also, at winter, there are these rocks you can cross that acts as a bridge but the river flows over it at winter, maybe make some sort of barrier to stop that. As for the park, oh. My. Gosh. It is amazing for the kids. Best playground I have ever seen. There is also a cafe to get an ice cream or a coffee. I'm not going to let lack of signs ruin my review, so you get a well deserved 5 stars.

My favourite place to take my dog for a walk and just to get out of the usual days.. I’m so lucky I live near the park so no issue for me to come here even when we are on lockdown.

Nice Park to enjoy with your family and friends have fantastic places to make BBQ or picnic, you can find toilets and all beautiful places to rest and take a relax day!!!

  • 5/5 Nelson D. 2 years ago on Google
Great place for the family, very quiet and relaxing. Great walking trails. Massive area and lots of parking options. The are lots of electrical wiring way overhead in the area so if you are concerned about that, this park may not be your cup of tea. Some interesting crawling animals here and there. Well maintained. The Maribyrnong River features prominently in the area and you will get many chances to see that as you walk around and meet the locals.

Great open green spaces with bitumen trails. The bubbling Maribyrnong River ford crossings. A Cafe, plenty of parking, BBQ areas, toilets, playareas, and under cover seating.

Beautiful place for any outing in nature. Whether it's a picnic, a BBQ, a run, or even a walk and talk. There are BBQ areas/booths, a running track and a lovely Cafe with delicious food. Highly recommended 👌

  • 4/5 Hai N. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent for afternoon our with family. Some bbq areas. Strength is that it has enormous open spaces and very good walking/bike trails. 5/5 for those. The reason I give 4/5 is because I think the park could improve the playgrounds for kids. One playground is "central" but isn't impressive in my opinion. They red a super playground and thus path would be in top 5 in state maybe. The cafe also is average quality for the price.

  • 4/5 Cathy F. 6 months ago on Google
It was a great day. Everything ticked the box. Great utilities such as BBQ and picnic areas. Playground s for children. And the cafe had great food. The only thing I think needs attention is more signs showing where the trails and diving for bikers and walkers.

  • 4/5 Thomas L. 1 year ago on Google
Not too bad of a park, it's very big and spread out with lots of different trails, you can get pretty close to the river and see some of the natural beauty that it has to offer

  • 3/5 T P - c. 8 months ago on Google
If you are looking for plenty of open green spaces then this is a great spot for family/group picnics, field games etc. For the exercise enthusiast however, it lacks more challenging pathways that incline/decline. It's flat and easy the pathways. Cafe kitchen has now closed on Tuesdays as well so onky coffee and snacks at the front. Overall okay but there are better spots.

This my grandson's favorite park. I treat him to a mango sorbet at least once a week here. We also have little picnics under the trees. A very safe and enjoyable park. The cafe staff are very friendly too. We love it 🤩

The park is huge and has a beautiful landscape, which was perfect for picnic or day out. However, I think the council could enhance the park further by improving the facilities, which would make it even more enjoyable for the visitors.

  • 5/5 Elias K. 11 months ago on Google
Great place to have a birthday party (weather permitting, of course, lol). It's a large enough picnic area to have a BBQ with the facilities provided or BYO BBQ, plenty of shelter gotta get there early if its gonna be a good day and the restrooms are not too far away anywhere you are in the park. Also, the playground is great for the little ones to enjoy ...

Regularly go here for walks, and I bring my dog too! There are many different trails, I prefer the ones that not too many people use as I can let my dog off lead for a little bit. Parks are very clean, and there’s a cafe down the bottom too.

  • 4/5 Noah R. 3 years ago on Google
Aside from parking there is ample greenery and amenities, perfect for an outdoor gathering. There are free gazebo and BBQ facilities also available to utilise. Play equipment is well maintained as well.

  • 5/5 Heather M. 3 years ago on Google
Great place for a run, ride walk or roll on the grass. Bring a picnic, have a bbq or eat at the cafe. The kids will have a blast on the plauground and if it is hot have a dip in the swimming hole. ( look for it and you will find it) Get there early enough and you might catch the kangaroos.

One of my favourite semi-wild national parks I've ever been to. Evening walks (7.30 -8.30PM) here gets you up close with rabbits, ducks, wallabies and native birds. Some routes are flooded during rainy days so be careful if you choose to risk it.
