I went there to buy some ag piping and they closed 70 years ago. Very misleading. I had to go to bunnings 500mt away and move my car.

Amazing wonderful gem .. I loved everything in there, people are friendly and if you like dogs, you will see plenty of them just playing around! There is also a beautiful playground near the club end of the park. Also, the toilets are well maintained and easy to access as well.

Interesting place to explore with some old buildings and site history info provided. Has a pipe theme to it as you walk along. Set aside garden area has some different landscaping designs. The larger park itself is quite spacious with numerous mature trees. Your not far from the river and there are picnic areas / toilets on the nearby Maribyrnong River Trail.

Kids love exploring the gardens and learning about the history, lots of educational markers pointing out the features of the old factory. Lovely spacious playground and wide green lawns perfect for picnjcd. Situated alongside the Maribyrnong river, very scenic and peaceful location.

A relaxing and peaceful place. The big and shallow rivers are amazing. There are cute birds and jellyfish. I love seeing them!

Nice place for the kids to run around and play - there is a sandpit , tall tree house- looking playground , garden, and enough area to kick the footy around. A 3yo , 4yo and 6yo kid loved playing on the playground and did so with little help climbing up.

Love walking the dog around this section of the Maribyrnong river. Playgrounds on both sides. Restrooms on both sides. The footbridge that connects the 2 sides. And of course the history of Pipemakers itself. Would be great for the dog walkers if those poo bag dispensers actually had bags in them. I carry my own, but just saying, I’ve never seen bags in them.

Dodgy blokes hang around the top car park on the gear I reckon and looking to root in the old sheds. Now fenced off. Keep an eye on your kids.

Lovely nature conserve and park hidden away in Maribrynong not far from the Maribrynong river, Jack’s Magazine, Frogs Hollow wetlands, biking paths and close to Highpoint SC. Lovely playground for kids too!

The park itself is huge. Great for a picnic, walk or a run. River provides a nice view. The playground itself is nice. The highlight would be the tree house looking slide. Great for the younger kids.

Maybe because its local and just off the river trail that it doesn't get many visitors. The place is looked after by volunteers on occasions. In winter it's a little if a dry dead place, but come spring, those shrubs and bare trees start to blossom bright flowers, the jasmine smells wonderful. It feels like something from the Secret Garden with it's broken down walls, an arch walk made out of old concrete pipes and a rose garden. Great place to sit and meditate and just breath.

This is a favourite spot of ours for a quick visit to a sort of rewilded area very close by home and shopping. Bring tea or coffee, or a picnic. It's a really lovely place and the heritage of the site has been preserved for interest. Love the old figs, lavender, grape vines and other old plants.

It's a beautiful and peaceful place. Good for walking/jogging/just strolling around despite the fact that 2 teenagers were hiding in a pipeline structure near the entrance smoking weed. I loved the view from the bridge.

Love this park. Lots of different levels for different abilities. It has a very high slide that is only accessible through a weird rope ladder that can be hard for some kids and adults trying to help. Lots of shade and options to be in nature. Great bike path nearby but also lots of parking. Right near highpoint too if you wanted to clear your head after a visit there.

amazing park on the river, and there are old historic places to calm

Great, interesting and varied park, decent parking, interesting pipes and tiles garden area and amazing new playground for the kids. It's also a gay beat, no where near the kids' area, so don't be weird about random dudes hanging around north of the second car park, or whatever, Just mind your business 😊 (unless that's what you're after lol) On that note, not even making a pun, do watch out for snakes cause there's proper good bush and grass. There's also the river and some like pondish sort of areas that can fill with water when it rains, so intrepid younger kids WILL need direct supervision to be safe. I think there's a dog area on the other side of the river, which is easy to get to over the bridge. I've never used the toilets or picnic facilities, couldn't tell ya what they're like.

Beautiful park to explore. Great for walking, running, family picnics, biking . The heritage history is a bonus, learn as you you walk about the Aboriginal culture. The vines would look amazing in spring/summer once they bloom. Very spacious. Playground looks fun .

A really nice and spacious playground with beautiful surroundings near the Maribynong river makes this place great for a family outing. There is enough parking and also public toilets, barbecue area and lots of sitting area. And when you're done you can head to highpoint shopping centre for retail therapy which is just 2mins drive away!

  • 3/5 Adrian C. 1 year ago on Google
Wide park very close to Highpoint Shopping Centre next to the Maribyrnong River with a medium sized playground area and a walking bridge to cross the river. The playground has two high slides and a sand area with a water pump that unfortunately didn’t work during my visit. Lots of runners and dogs enjoying a sunny day out and a scenic walk, but other parts of the Maribyrnong such as Edgewater Park area are possibly even more scenic.

  • 5/5 Darrell H. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely manicured parkland running along the river that's fill of wildlife. Plenty of BBQ's and gazebos for the family to set up camp and enjoy. It's located right behind highpoint shopping centre, literally across the road from it. So, for mum or dad that wants to go shop whilst the other half plays with the kids, it's perfect. Great day out when you want to take the family out for a picnic.

Big enough for 5-8 kids. It may be too difficult for kids 5 years old or less. Will definitely keep parents amd kids occupied.

The trails along the Maribyrnong River are wonderful, and this park is a highlight worth taking in if you're exploring. A great playspace, some interesting art, small wetlands, picnic areas, toilets and quite an interesting... ruin? Perhaps garden is a better word. In any case, it's a terrific green space in this area.

Great spot for a leisurely walk. Daughter says the swings are great. Walking through the old pipemakers buildings is interesting. Near Highpoint so we go and get ice cream each time.

  • 5/5 Peter B. 4 years ago on Google
Fantastic but not easy to describe. The basic architectural shape of the old pipemakers factory is still here but the ruins have been incorporated into the park in different ways. One rectangle is a traditional garden of lawns, flowers, trees and benches. But beneath your feet are the concrete ruins of one part of the old factory. It's lovely but it's incongruous. Next to it is another rectangle, this one dedicated to massive concrete pipes, which lie about in disarray. Some you could sit on top of to eat your lunch, others you disappear into as you walk through them. The old sheds of the factory plant are also here, all fenced off for safety reasons perhaps. But there are many man-sized holes in the fence for those who really want get in and have a good poke around. A great park.

Piepmakers Park has a brand new playground, along with the Living Museum of the West which is great for kids to explore. Good to see recognition of our indigenous history here too. Plenty of open spaces, some bbq's and public toilets. Good walking/riding paths along both sides of the river. Limited car parking.
