When I visited this place, I want to discover something what Solo culinary has to offer. Turns out… I was so disappointed. The foods tasted so ordinary and they’re overpriced. I’d def say they’re fairly priced if they can offer something unique & tasty, but they don’t. But hey, take this with a grain of salt, as this is my own opinion. As someone routinely going to Solo, I want as much as the next person for Solo culinary & tourism to thrive.

My hotel Concierge recommended this Nasi Liwet to me, and when I tried it, it's definitely delicious. Small portions though, so you might want to add up some side dishes. Prepare to sit on the floor too...

Nasi Liwet. They offer a delicious nasi liwet here. In my experience, this place is comfy enough for a dinner. During the night the place became really calm and relaxing. When you are relaxed and served a delicious nasi liwet, who can avoid it? But down side for me is they offer a bunch variety of nasi liwet for a bit expensive price. But, it was a good experience. If you have the bucks, you need to try this place.

Actually i expected more , small portion, taste just okay. Seating; outdoor (bench) & indoor (Lesehan) also available. Hygiene: the seller using their bare hands to take ur food into ur plates. I think it's considered normal in this Town.

Good taste but a bit too expensive for a street food. The portion was also a bit too small. Despite of that, still a good choice to eat local nasi liwet.

Confused as there are two restaurants with the exact same name meters from each other. They both have the word 'asli' which translates to 'real'. Quite common when they have a restaurant managed by a family, they split and the other opens one with the same name. And the 'original' will put the word 'asli' in their brand. Portions are small but enough as a small meal. The soup with veggies made the rice tastier (coconut milk based I think?)

Enjoy the all time classic nasi liwet on the side of the street, best to come at night while listening to live sinden. Back in the day, the whole street was selling nasi liwet but nowadays, only two shops remain. Unfortunately, even though the food is as great as ever, there are other newer establishments who serve nasi liwet as good as, if not more delicious, than this one. But Wongso Lemu is still worth the try!

Local specialty food called “Nasi Liwet”, actually it’s a mixed rice with chicken, egg, and some soup on the rice. Quite nice and very affordable. While we’re there, there’s a traditional Javanese music performance by 2 women. Very dramatic indeed.

Obviously it’s not a place to eat for a vegetarian like me, but since I came with my group so I had no other choice. The price is surprisingly quite expensive for Solo standard. My first time trying this kind of Nasi Liwet but the taste is quite exquisite, I think they use lots of spices to make the curry very tasty

Delicious traditional cuisine and great local atmosphere, located near keprabon kulon Solo. Affordable price and you can choose a traditional drink here such as wedang ronde, wedang uwuh. When you visit Solo, dont forget to visit and try!

Nasi liwet is one the signature dishes from Solo. And nasi liwet bu wongso lemu is one of the best and the oldest in Solo. Be careful when you are here because the are some seller that have Nasi Liwet Bu Wongso Lemu banner in front of their stall, but the original is only one. Just find for the most crowded one. Just place your order at the seller then go to your table and they will serve yours. Try the komplit one. And dont forget to try wedhang uwuh. The price is reasonable. The place also easy to find.

Traditional Java food, cheap, good taste with live music and they expect tips from visitors (bit forcing sorry). One of famous food in Solo. Nasi Liwet taste 8, tahu bacem 6, wedang jahe 8. Overall is okay.

Taste is average. Service is horrible, the woman at the cashier was very rude. Rather pricey for a small portion. Chicken is good though. Parking is on the road and crowded. Nice thing was some local musicians and singers that was so original and traditional.

Consider expensive for this kind of place.. the taste is delicious but the portion is to small with the price listed.. The ambience is good and you can find the singer will sing when the dishes start to served to your table. Overall is good.. but I don’t think want to come back here again.. My colleagues say the “ceker” is so yummy.. but I haven’t tried it. Ordered Ronde as well and the taste is standard..

It’s delicious and it’s my favorite since my childhood. Whatever people talking “pricy” for this places. It is and always worth it

Kinda expensive for small portion, also taking long waiting if you weren't in front of the seller, there is nothing special on the meal that I get here, I think they good on history and the place, they also javanese sinden singer here to entertain you when eating.

  • 4/5 Patrick P. 1 year ago on Google
Many Solo natives said that this was already overpriced and not special, but for me as a newcomer to Solo, there is nothing to be complained about the food. Price is relatively high compared to other food options in Solo but it doesn't justify this nasi liwet to be put in the bucket of "expensive" food. The nasi liwet was covered with kuah opor and topped with chicken and braised chayote (labu siam). Every component was well marinated, well cooked, and tasty. Sadly I didn't take a picture of it.

The place offers a solo authentic Nasi Liwet, the place also has live music from street performers (sinden) who sing old javanese folksong giving the place atmosphere like a shop in old time

I expect for paying the price i could get maybe a bigger portion but this is how much i get. The taste is also so-so. Better not coming again 🙁

It's legendary nasi liwet since 1950. You can enjoy traditional music while dinner

  • 4/5 Febria N. 1 year ago on Google
For the taste kinda matched with me. But for the price kinda pricey compared to other sellers. Maybe because of its branding and many food vloggers who visited this place.

  • 3/5 Ari G. 4 years ago on Google
Taste just so so, but the price is expensive. Maybe in the past this place I famous, but mow I think there are other stalls to choose. The street musician is just annoying and make us uncomfortable, and they will stop only if you give them money (this is usual in Indonesia).

Nasi liwet is a Southeast Asian rice dish cooked in coconut milk, chicken broth and spices, from Solo, Central Java, Indonesia. Common steamed rice is usually cooked in water, but nasi liwet is rice cooked in coconut milk, chicken broth, salam leaves and lemongrass, thus giving the rice a rich, aromatic and succulent taste. Nasi liwet is a traditional Javanese way of cooking rice in coconut milk. This one has been here from 1950,one of the oldest and historical nasi liwet in Solo, must try if you are in this city

Always loved the taste, hasn't changed after all these years. A pleasant atmosphere enjoying live traditional Javanese music. Remembering the good old days.

Just okay, price is quite expensive compared to the portion.

  • 4/5 Mustika R. 4 years ago on Google
Great food. It is a steamed rice with coconut soup curry, chicken, and egg. It has a mild spicy level, they provide cooked cayenne chili if you want to add some more. All great, However, the seller is surprisingly not friendly enough as Solo lady!
