I had some concerns before booking this hotel, since a number of reviews I had read mentioned that the rooms were old and not very clean. Fortunately, my experience, from check-in to check-out, was positive. For the price, I thought the room was excellent. Importantly, the ensuite bathroom had a bathtub, which functioned well. The tub was clean, and hot water was abundantly available. I did, however, note that the drain stopper was not functioning as intended and the bidet leaked water when used. It is true that the age of the hotel shows--even from the layout of the room itself. Also, some of the equipment in the room seemed to be too old--in particular, I felt that the old plastic electric kettle in the room I stayed in should be replaced (it was worn and discoloured on the outside, and it didn’t turn off automatically even after the water started boiling). Nevertheless, I felt the hotel was overall well-maintained. It is worth noting that the location of the hotel was quite convenient for me. It is centrally located, and is only ten minutes away from the Hadiningrat Palace by car. Solo Paragon Mall, which is the mall that’s worth visiting in Solo for dining, can be accessed easily by car, and McDonald’s and KFC are not too far away either (10 minute walk).

+ Location is just awesome. Night market, city hall fortress. If you love to walk around especially at night is just awesome. + Staff are really helpful, helping me with guidance to the night market. Security help me finding late night car wash. + Rooms are huge, i got the executive one. Its spacious. + My experience with cleanliness, its actually very good for hotel that are pretty old. + Really appreciate underground parking. Huge plus for me + Good value for its price + It feels old and got its own charm. Really like the old java decorations around the hotel + Fast check in and aircon already turned on before i enter. + window facing the hotel is actually good if you like quiet place. its so quiet. - unfortunately my window are facing the hotel, i wish i can get the one facing outside. Will try the suite next time. - some parts of the furniture aged, but its pretty normal. I've seen worst. - the shower room is a bit weird. top shower blocks the light. I almost avoid this hotel after i saw several review. But luckily i stayed and what a good experience. Will try another room next time, because I'll coming back.

The hotel has a lot of potential and uniqueness to it. But needs to be renovated already. There are a lot of leaking mark on the ceiling and dated carpet. My room toilet also leaking a bit and the bed sheets and bathroom curtain needs to be change with a new one. A lot of stain. Aircon also a bit hot even I set it to 10 degree celcius. Service was super friendly and helpful. Perfect location, good food. Price was amazing for 5 stars. Overall just need a little renovation.

Strategic location, nice lobby decor. Other than that, unfortunately this hotel needs a lot of improvement. Check in process took so long. Our room was smelly and AC was not working properly. Everything is old, shower, bidet, toilet, everything. Room was dirty. Red spots on the faucet area. Bed linens are all smelly. There were noise from either pump, or AC or machine, clearly heard from the room. Staff were trying their best to accomodate but management has to step in, to revamp. Otherwise, this hotel doesn't deserve an M Gallery collection status from Accor.

Everything are great. The location, the ambience, the food and the staff. The bed is large it can fit to four person ( 2 adult and 2 children) and still comfortable to sleep at night. The only minus is there is no children swimming pool, the swimming pool is 1.4 m deep

Old but well maintained. The hotel has luxury Javanese vibes, with a lot of Javanese ornament like statue, batik, and wooden furniture. Love every detail they put in their properties. I don’t feel creepy at all staying at this hotel. Superior room quite spacious with bathtub. This is very great, regarding other hotel with the same rate in Solo don’t have bathtub. The only thing need to be improved is parking space that very narrow, and there is no staff help visitor to park. Location is very strategic, we can easily walk to Kraton Kasunanan, Kampung Batik Kauman, Pusat Grosir Solo,

Close to some interesting places in the city, like the palace(s), Fort, museums, batik village, etc. And we came to Solo to see those things, so it's a great location, everything is within walking distance (well, for some Indonesians it might not be like that😅). But mind you, it was so hot in Solo. The room is comfortable and clean, but unfortunately, not soundproof. I overslept while watching TV, and a friend complained due to the loud sound from the TV, woke up at 3 a.m. to turn off the TV. Got the problem that the TV in my room was so loud! Even in volume 1! 😅 It's an old style tap to choose the hot and cold water for the shower, it's a little bit tricky, but, it's ok.

Unbelievable price for such a luxury traditionally carved hotel in the middle of Solo. Super fast and friendly receptionist . Huge room with bathtub. Comfortable bed with 4 big pillows with different firmness .

Beautifully furnished hotel, incorporating the spirit of Solo and the Javanese culture. The deluxe rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with excellent service from staff. Location is good for exploring. Facilities are good, including a decent size swimming pool. We had an issue with our room, which was dealt with. Following this, I can say that the staff were helpful and professional - so 5 stars for everything.

A reasonable hotel to stay at if visiting Solo. The place is a bit dated, but overall reasonable for the price. It has a decent gym and pool as well. Buffet breakfast was great, fresh food and good variety. Very friendly staff. Location was really good a close to street stalls and malls. Would recommend.

VERY BERY NICE! For the price around 500-600 thousand rupiah you get rhe best room and rhe bfast! I didnt expect the room was big, i mean... i ordered the standard one. But it was nice, it is near the kasunanan surakarta so i strolled around there with becak or pedicap, at night you can also look for the supper at the area because there were many angkringan around there. Many variety of bfast and it was nice, not only western or asian but they serve local also. I would like to go back here, was very recommended to stay here

We only had a chance to enjoy the resto for iftar. The restorant is not too big. Just enough. IDR 130 k for adult 85 k for children plus 15% diskon is absoletly cheep. The food varian also excellent while we also can enjoy the live music. The interior hotel as I can see is unique and most likly like museum. Love it!

It is a nice hotel. It is nicely decorated with local artwork and the lobby/restaurant are beautiful. The service was also good. The room was a little beat up though, with chipped wood furniture and broken tiles. The pool area is nice but be forewarned that it's completely covered so no sunbathing and the water was really cold. The adjacent gym, however was excellent.

what i love about this place is that all the staff are nice and helpful, nice room, and spacious bathroom but for me more light would be preferable, good tv channel, but unfortunately the wifi cannot be access during my stay. it has variety f&b of breakfast, health procedures are followed here.

I recently stayed at the Royal Surakarta Heritage Hotel MGallery Collection and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The check-in process was smooth and fast, allowing me to settle into my spacious room quickly. The room itself was well-appointed and I particularly enjoyed the fluffy pillows and comfortable bed, providing a great night's sleep. The hotel also had complete amenities, making my stay convenient and enjoyable. The breakfast offered plenty of options and was delicious, providing a great start to the day. However, there were a few downsides to my stay. Firstly, the AC in the room was quite noisy and didn't seem to cool the room efficiently. Additionally, I noticed that the housekeeping staff did not restock drinking water and did not remove used plates and utensils from my room, which was a bit disappointing. As an ALL member, I was looking forward to enjoying the benefits of my membership during my stay at the hotel. However, I was disappointed to find that I did not receive a welcome drink upon arrival, which is typically a perk for ALL members. This was definitely a downside to my experience at the hotel. I hope that the hotel can improve on this aspect in the future to ensure that ALL members feel valued and appreciated during their stay. Overall, the Royal Surakarta Heritage Hotel MGallery Collection is a lovely property with great potential. With a few improvements in the AC system, housekeeping services, and recognition of ALL member perks, it could be an even more enjoyable stay for guests.

Stay 2 nights in here + room is spacious. Comfortable for 2 adult and 2 teenage + location is excellent, easy for transport access + high value looking at 2 point above. - check in process is longer than usually others hotel had. Please have more staff or improve the cleaning room process for faster process - parking lot. If u bring car, at night parking space will not sufficient

  • 5/5 Mia Mekar P. 7 months ago on Google
Pros: - excellent cleanliness & service - beautifully decorated, reminds me of my grandmother's house - located in the heart of Surakarta city, easy to go anywhere, only 10 minute walk to Pasar Gede Cons: - connecting rooms are "subject to availability", it's very inconvenient for family travelers like us. It felt like gambling, when we were very worried whether we could have connecting rooms or not. We traveled with 2 teenagers and an elderly (my mother), so we really needed connecting rooms for safety reasons. We hope the hotel will consider this and can guarantee to fulfill the guests' requirements. - swimming pool is too small for a large group. The small bar in the pool area was filthy (I was trying to wash my hands in the sink, but then I changed my mind). The gym room is too dark and the toilet looks worn out. Tips: - there is no convenient store around the hotel. But there was a street vendor at the corner, where you can buy some water etc.

There was several things that disturbing me during our stay 1. We met one security (used maroon or brown uniform) that was not nice at all. When we first come, he was just chatting with other staff in concierge stall and didnt greet or help us. Then I had to ask him how to park in the basement, he just said we have to make a turn and re enter the gate. We were confuse how come? It is one way street. He should guide us or cant he just help us to move backward so it become easier? Then, there was a strike during our check out time. I asked him (the same person as yesterday) is it possible to leave? He answered with annoyed face "tunggu sebentar!". I knew he just had an argue with demonstrator, but he must stay nice to customer, doesnt he? 2. After we got our room, around 3-4 pm, there were staff knocked to check the mini bar. Then 1 hour later, another staff came and did the same thing. Whatt foorrr??? We want to have a good rest 3. The aircon in our room didnt work. We slept in the heat. I called staff to ask for help the next morning. An engineer came in at 4 am and check the controller for almost one hour. We kinda annoyed because it took too long and we didnt have enough sleep. When i asked him what happen, he said no idea because he is still new there. If you dont know, then you should get another help not wasting time. I call receptionist and tell the case. Luckily a staff came and gave us new room with complimentary snack. We appreciated that.

Staff are all hospitable and very approachable, Rooms was prepared as per request and generous to attend a special request of arranging a greeting note for birthday celebration, with room it was neat and clean, linens and pillows are comfy, toiletries are complete, dinner was served at the room fast and food was delicious. During breakfast at the resto, there are a lot of options to choose, from English breakfast to Indonesia's local foods, foods are immediately refilled, waiters served with smile and very helpful to give their service. A very relaxing weekend and will definitely come back for my next trip.

Superb location, within walking distance to Kampung Kauman (the batik center), Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat, a short ride to basically everywhere. Food is alright, not bad, not great either. Service is okay, not bad, not great either. Room is clean, nice, although nothing great, a bit worn out. Not really like in the photos. Maybe that was taken long ago. The bathroom is nice. I'm not sure if it can be classified as "heritage", but I do love the decor outside, with all the small puppets.

We have a worse experience to stay here.....the aircond is not working and it's very noisy (so you can imagine sweating for 3 nights in closed room)....already asked for the maintanance for 2 times but it didn't help at all...even they didn't offer us to change the room The room keeping is also a nightmare. They didn't change all the towel on second day. They only folded the used towel (yes...it's wet) and maybe they think we are stupid so we wouldn't know about it...but..... Even they didn't threw away the trashes....OMG....what happened with the management 😡😡😡 Foods are not good at all...very boring flavor...no variations compare to other hotels that have few stars than them.

The location is easy to find and near Keraton Surakarta and Keraton Mangkunegaran. The service is excellent and you have a variant type of breakfast from traditional and international food, the food itself is nice and filling, Renita in the restaurant is very helpful during my breakfast.Totally worth the price and if I'm back to Solo will be back here again.

  • 4/5 Dhanya C. 6 months ago on Google
Pros: - room is very spacious, well occupied and got everything you need. - great location to explore surroundings (esp for morning/evening stroll) - smells really nice - traditional touch everywhere. when we had our breakfast, a group of sinden were singing & playing gamelan - quick & efficient check in - bfast options (both western & javanese) but taste wise can be lil too sweet. most of central javanese cuisine are on the sweeter side - place for dinners are nearby. theres a food court right next to the hotel. - airport/train station escort available for 35k/pax Cons: - additional charges for extra water - maximalist interior design. So if this is not your forte, you may feel irritated on your stay. - most of the staff we encountered are trainee, can be a lil bit clueless - our room had a small problem on the toilet flush, pretty weak but anyway still usable.

This hotel is conveniently located in the very center of the city, close to Pasar Gede where you can buy traditional item, Pusat Grosir Solo where you can buy various kind of Batik, as well as the Keraton Solo and all its surroundings. I got into this hotel with a special price and it is super cheap. I also got free breakfast with accor Silver Member. This is the very first hotel that acknowledge my free upgrade room perks from my Accor Silver member, very much thank you. I also present my Free Birthday cake, and they honor it too... I am grateful that I chose this hotel as my place to say in Solo.

Cheapest five star hotel in Solo but still have a perfect touch in everything. Under mGallery from Accor definitely show that their hotel have high standard in service. Location is perfect, in the main road of Slamet Riyadi, very close to Pasar Gede, Ngarsopuran and etc. With only 500k idr or maybe cheaper in low season you can stay in this hotel. Hotel design was cool, mix from Javanese traditional and modern classic. Room was spacious, even kinda old but still in good condition. The only minus was, they lack of power outlet! Only one in the room that accessible. The bathroom was clean, there’s a bathtub in each room. But in my room the bathtub was kinda leaked. Staffs are helpful and nice. Swimming pool, gym and spa located in the samel level, level 3 if I’m not mistaken. There are few tables and chairs to chill in the hall of level 3. Overall 8.5/10.

The atmosphere ia very javanese, the painting, the statue, except for the one near the entrance i guess, and the room interior also very javanese, with gamelan music heard when you're on the room aisle, the facility is ancient, but thankfully my ac is in the right order, there are also bathtub here, with this kind of price ity a plus, one of my xomplain here, there are ant, so my mandarijn cake is ruined

  • 3/5 Harits T. 2 years ago on Google
The price is quite affordable, but the reason is obvious. This hotel is very old. All the furnitures look dated and are in bad conditions. The AC is not nearly cold enough. The linens are so old they're discoloured, the same goes for the towels. It's 2021 and there's no power outlet near enough to the bed to charge your phone. The lobby area looks great, but the same cannot be said about the rooms. It's good value for money, but if you want a real 5 star experience look somewhere else.

This my 5th time's with family stay at this hotel, very strategic to spend nights in Solo. It's near from Keraton, Masjid Agung and shopping centers. The interior looks vintage, which I like it so much. Service and hospitality is good and the place is clean. There are many Javanese street food nearby at night. Room number 911, the best room so far.. 😃

This hotel is located in a very strategic location close to Pasar Gede, Klewer Market, Galabo and PGS. But the furniture in the room looks old but clean. The room is quite spacious and clean. The location of this hotel is the sole reason I’d recommend staying here. It is in the heart of Surakarta and walking distance to all the main sights, and surrounded by streets full of vendors selling delicious food. The lobby of this place is beautiful and the room we had was spacious, however the cleanliness of the room was not what I’d expect. The beds were hard, which is fine, but not when the springs are noticeable. The air conditioner worked beautifully, but was very loud. Overall, if you’re in Surakarta for 1-2 days and want to be centrally located than this place will work for you.

This hotel is within a walking distance to several tourist destinations and markets. Around the area, there are many food vendors that you might enjoy at night. Location wise: very strategic. Close to Pasar Gedhe (walking distance), balaikota, and Keraton Solo. Room is big, clean, and has bath tub in each room which is very nice.
