Cakra homestay has great potential to be a great guesthouse. The building is just beautiful and the staff are friendly. They don't really speak English but patient with Google translate, though are a little difficult to find in the compound. However I have given a low rating as the bedroom and especially the bathroom looked like they have never been properly cleaned ever. We have stayed in many similar priced guest houses in Java and feel the cleanliness has really let this place down. The mattresses were very old, springy and uncomfortable and lack of glass windows allowed mosquitos into the room.

One on side this place is nicely operated, has a nice sitting area on a Tower and friendly owners as well. On the other side it is kind of spooky, old and I ran my head 5 times on the lamps. Still not sure if I liked that place.

Good place to stay in Solo, looks like a museum. Really liked the pool! Rooms are quite old though. No showers available. Two staff members, they gave good information about things to visit in and arround Ubud! Currently low season so very calm.

We were here some 5 years ago and had an enjoyable stay and we decided to return. Again we enjoyed our stay. If you like luxury book a hotel; for us this homestay, in the centre of town is convenient for sightseeing, shopping, places to eat and enjoy culture and crafts. Atmosfere in Javanese style.

No toiletteries, no toilet paper, shower doesn't function, you can't leave the room window open, because then every one can step into your room. That said, you are staying in a large box. Door and window closed, no day light. No hygiene standards. Bed sheet with holes.

I like to stay here. It's fit for you who wants to stay in quiet, traditional vibes, and spookey feeling. Low budget, less hospotality standard, but still great view of every detail.

Beautiful old historic buildings, we paid about 10 $ per night, feels like a museum, nice platform with great view, clean rooms, simple but ok breakfast, really nice pool, but was a little spooky because noone was there apart from us and the place is quite big
