It was such a pleasure staying at Doeloerkoe Homestay and getting to meet Rifaat Sungkar during my recent visit to Solo. This place is one of the best homestays i have ever stayed in anywhere and i was really touched by the hospitality. His Father Abdullah (had studied in London and stayed there) such a great people, Mr.Abdullah loves good coffee, staff extended to me during my stay. Clean rooms, homely humble food, safe transport arrangements and great value for money! What made my stay memorable was Rifat's commitment and willingness to attend to each one of my needs, whether it was about local travel, visiting historical places and places of interest, attending personally to our health issues or meeting our special food needs! Everything Rifat did for me had a personal touch and went way beyond my expectations! and what excited me he speaks so many languages dutch, english, arabic, korean fluently. It's crystal clear that they obviously have experience living abroad. This place truly defines what a homestay ought to be where one feels one is staying at his own home and surrounded by his own family! Rifat, his father and their entire staff went out of their way and walked the extra efforts at all times to make me feel at home. Their service standards were of the highest order. They go much beyond the commercial objectives of their business and demonstrate a rare passion to excel in delighting their customers and make them feel at home! If you want to stay at Doeloerkoe in a pleasant and homely environment and have all your needs attended to with a friendly smile this is the place to be! THANK YOU DOELOERKOE!

I had a wonderful stay at Doeloerku Homestay in Solo, Central Java. The place is cozy, homie, and feels like I was coming back to my grandparent's house. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and well-equipped, and the air conditioning was cool and quiet. Upon arrival, they served me with a selection of hot tea or coffee, which was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Rifat, Ina, and mbak Dwi. They gave me tips on where to go and what to see in Solo, and they always greeted me with a smile. The location of the homestay is convenient, as it is close to many attractions. I enjoyed exploring the city and its culture, I felt safe and welcomed by the locals. The homestay also offers free breakfast, which was delicious and filling. They have selection of dishes to choose from, such as nasi liwet or nasi pecel. I would definitely recommend Doeloerku Homestay to anyone who is looking for a cozy and affordable place to stay in Solo. It is more than just a homestay, it is indeed a home away from home. I will be back for sure!

Doeloerkoe Homestay provide homey atmosphere. Very clean, good interior design. The kitchen is open for 24 hours, tea and coffee is available all the time, fridge, water dispenser. They provide bread and hot tea for breakfast. Mas Riza is very helpful that can assist us to wash car and give massage. We stayed at Junior Sweet Hotel that can be used for 4 people, with bathroom inside, aircon, mineral water, TV. Had a wonderful time in here. Thank you Doeloerkoe Homestay!

The staff mbak Dwi was very very kind, friendly and helpful. We checked in late, and she organized for us 5 persons to have dinner at the homestay's dining room. My son had a problem with his neck muscle a day before we came to the homestay, because of wrong sleeping position, and mbak Dwi gave him some massage and "kerokan" using warm oil. Next day, my son felt much better and relieved. Thank you, mbak! . The owner pak Rifat was a very nice person as well. You feel like you have met them long time ago. Just like old friends. That's personal touch. You can have tea or coffee anytime in the kitchen. The place is very clean with traditional Javanese nuances. The location is perfect. Just few minutes walk to the fort Vastenburg, Alun-alun, Pasar Klewer, some shopping centers, etc. An amazing place to stay in Surakarta!

Googling a friendly-price-hotel in Solo and Doeloerkoe Homestay was on top. Superb testimonial from their customers. Didn't think much and booked (initially) three nights, but work schedule then made us only stayed one night. Pak Rifat from the property is very helpful by responding whatever I asked. Location is good. The property is an individual/family residence in Dutch colonial style. Love it. Inside, they keep it like home like the design, furniture, and small garden. At the back, there is kitchen with dinnerware, stove, kettle for hot water, water dispenser, some kitchen utensils, and sink of course. I could wash our travel meals stuffs. We got a welcome drink and simple breakfast. They offered some options of local rice based breakfast and we chose nasi kuning they bought outside (taste good and clean. Ibu Dwi the staff selected the seller by tasting the food and ensuring the cleanliness first). She cook nasi goreng too for a France lady. Overall our stay was great experience. We did not look for a fancy place but a cozy one and we got it here. As its name Doeloerkoe (read: du-lur-ku // my relative), the property offers a homey place we can stay while a way from our home. Recommended!

Really friendly family, made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. We were helped with train tickets / times, breakfast included which was delicious was amended for us on our last day so we could eat early before our train. The beds were comfortable, rooms had aircon and were dark and cool. The whole place was spotless and the courtyard had chairs to relax in. We were sad to be leaving. Would definitely recommend if staying over in Solo.

I was in Solo for work at the university, and stayed in Homestay Doeloerkoe for 3 weeks, It is a wonderful homestay, clean, cool, with a nice inner courtyard and garden. Very friendly and helpful staff: Mas Rifat and Mbak Dwi almost feel like family now. The room was spotless, the bed and sheets too, and the airconditioning worked great to cool the room and keep it fresh. I often had 3 meals a day in the homestay and I enjoyed all of them! Mbak Dwi is an excellent cook. Thank you very much. I will certainly return when I'm in Solo again!

Very central in Solo. The host are very, very friendly, and helpful. Rooms are tasteful, clean and spacious. Why not a 5 star? Well, our room was a bit noisy, and these western snobbish tourist miss the sink to brush our teeth. Maybe the other rooms are better in that specific way. Can absolutely recommend this place. Value for money.

I was made so welcome by Rifat and his staff (especially Dwi) who could not have been more helpful during my stay. The homestay had been in Rifatโ€™s family for decades and it had a lovely heritage feel about it. Good value for money and staff were so polite, friendly and respectful. A tasty local breakfast was included which was a bonus.

Recommend! The rooms are basic (we booked the lowest category) but have the essentials. Everything is clean. Could use some hooks and shelves to unpack. Add a little bedside table and bedside lamp and ๐Ÿ‘Œ Welcome tea or coffee is served, which is a nice gesture. Dwi gave us an electric fan for our stay, at our request. Local breakfast is simple but good. We rented a motorbike through Rifat and his friend. It was a bit more expensive than what we saw around but it turned out to be our best scooter in our two month's travels! A new Honda Vario 125cc, such a nice ride. The most important thing is: Rifat and Dwi are exceptional. We really enjoyed their company and will miss them! Rifat is full of stories and good tips and advice. Sit down for a chat with him before planning the rest of your stay! Best of health and success to them d to Doeloerkoe.

One of the best places Iโ€™ve stayed at in 8 month of travelling! A warm welcome, a clean room and great food! When you travel long term one of the things you miss the most is the feeling of home and genuine friendships, and I experienced both during my brief stay. The staff, Rifat, Dwi and Lia, which I now consider as good friends, were super nice, warm and welcoming, they went above and beyond to make us feel at home and it was a true pleasure meeting each one of them. I wish you the best, thank you my friends, see you again one day! P.s. Dwiโ€™s food is delicious, and if youโ€™re having a rough day, ask her if she can make some pisang goreng: your day will immediate get better!! Much love to you all ๐Ÿ’•

Doeloerkoe is the best accommodation Iโ€™ve experienced. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the AC works great! The staff continuously went above and beyond to make my stay in Solo one to remember. I was given countless inside tips, suggestions of sights, delicious breakfasts and great conversations. I couldnโ€™t recommend enough!

The place is comfy, the owner and the house keeper are really friendly. But people inside the rooms can hear the people outside talking quite clear. Moreover when there are teenagers who scream or talk loudly, it's too noisy. On the weekdays it's quite quiet for those who want to have rest peacefully. Overall, this place is good as it's near two traditional markets, Pasar Kliwon and Pasar Klewer. It's also near Keraton Surakarta and central city of Solo.

It was a good homestay to stay in during our stay in Solo. Easy to find and it is nearby the food stalls and shops. The people that works at the homestay are very welcoming and nice to us. Able to communicate with you fluently in English as well. They will offer you hot drinks anytime when you chill at the dining area.
