A great place for outing near to Hassan and Holenarasipura. This is a check dam built across river Hemavati during 1870. The spectacular view gives you a sense of joy for eyes. One can walk on the dam to the other side when water level is low. Swimming is very dangerous as there are many rocks. There is a hydroelectric power generation station. There are many trees so that you can eat the food if you have brought in the canopy. There is a large parking space. One can spend approximately 1-2 hours

Definitely one of the must visit place located near Hassan. Very peaceful and clean place. Actually we decided to ride on our motorcycle and enjoyed the ride completely gliding on Bangalore-Hassan highway . There is also an option to visit the other side of the falls ... we visited in the month of March 2021. Currently a dam is being constructed which may hamper the closure of this falls in coming months! Overall a very beautiful place to visit with family and friends. And also do visit Mavnuru Malleshwara temple which is just around 40 kms from the falls.

Old and historic water storage facility constructed in 1830. Very nice view Please dont try to walk on the dam which is very slippery and a mishap can be disastrous. P.s : Please dont dispose plastics /Alcholic beverages bottles / papper plates / water bottles / non biodegrade wastes. Help conserve mother nature.
