Awesome place, with stunning views. Make sure to take appropriate footwear for the steep but relatively short hike. Go past the car park as there is appropriate parking closer to the start of the walk. Also, BE CAREFUL on the rocks, I slipped, and I saw others do so too.

This waterfall is insanely amazing!!! If you want an adventure, pack a good tracking and a water shoes with you. Ride your motorcycle all the way up there and IGNORE the parking signs at the bottom or you gotta walk all the way. There is a parking on the top for motorcycles. This waterfall has 4 stages. So not be taken back by the little waterfall by the bridge. Climb all the way up. There are incredible water ponds for swimming. I repeat, climb all the way up!

The waterfall itself was great once you could find the good places to view it - 59bht to enter. Directions are a but vague and difficult to follow. Good to have your maps up so you can find the good points. Bit of a scramble involved so not ideal to wear flip flops but still possible if that's all you have. There a few swimming spots shoukd you wish to have a dunk.

I went with scepticism, unsure of whether it would be worth it. I was willing to go for the hike anyway, not expecting to see anything spectacular. To my surprise, there was a lovely little waterfall at the top, and a great view which definitely made the hike worth it. I went on 29/06/23. I think these recent reviews are all about a "waterfall" much lower down, which is where those slides are. Granted, that was rather empty and unimpressive. Instead of going all the way to the main spot for car parking, turn left down a little hill to a small hut where someone resides. You'll see a hand made plank bridge. This is where you should start the hike to the better waterfall at the top.

Very fun hike! We went up the left (free) side (which starts out of the bottom parking lot--follow the signs that take you over a rickety wooden bridge), which involved some fun scrambling and a lot of gorgeous views! You can swim at the top by the waterfall. We spent 30 min hiking up, 30 min at the upper falls, and 30 min hiking down.

Quite a hike up to the waterfall viewpoint, but well worth the effort. Remember to wear proper hiking/sport shoes with sufficient grip! Beautiful soaking pools and gorgeous view of the jungle from up top!

Be aware the waterfall has two difference entrances and two different hikes either side of it. At the base of the waterfall if you go in the lower left hand side this is free and will take you on a comfortable scrambling path to the IG viewpoint spot of the pool over looking the edge of the waterfall. The higher path from the car park to the right hand side of the waterfall is 50 baht pp entry and will give you views of the waterfall and various different pools you can go in. There are opportunities to cross the water fall but these are hard to spot and quite sketchy, other than the crossing at the viewpoint if taken up from the left hand side

This is the upper falls portion of Namuang Waterfall. If you’re looking for somewhere to swim, you won’t find it here. That’s only the lower portion of the waterfall! However, if you’re looking for a nice walk up alongside a fast-flowing river until you reach a pretty impressive jungle waterfall, it might be worth your time. Please be careful - the trail is VERY slippery (I wore flip flops and instantly regretted it), so just be aware of that! And as an aside, avoid the elephant place that’s right nearby. When we visited, we saw multiple people riding on one elephant (which harms their necks), as well as elephants and their babies chained up to poles. They looked very sad. So keep away from the elephants and just enjoy the waterfalls! Bring some bug spray, swim clothes, and have a great time! 🙂

Nice waterfall, But the real place to visit is above it - It’s a hidden little trail but if you manage to find it then you can climb up to the top and enjoy the lovely view and natural infinity pool - We spent over an hour up hear relaxing and listening to the sound of the waterfall, As well as having a lovely swim. The trail is steep and involves climbing although I did it in crocs and found it easy, others may not. I would not advise attempting it after heavy rain or if it looks like it will rain as there are sections with rope where you need to pull yourself up the rocks. The entire hike up took us around 15-20 minutes.

This is a must go! We’ve been lucky to come after rainy days so the waterfall was full of water - we even got to swim in its natural pool! The views are breathtaking. You have to come. Free entry at the time of our visit. Don’t stay down - walk through the jungle up the hill, take lots of water and get ready to see something nice!

Small hike up steep narrow mostly rocky mountain that takes maybe 1 hour and you arrive to super picturesque site that looks as if it was made for cool foto making. Not for total dweebs. You must be at least somewhat adequately fit and have more than cheapest beach flip flops to wear. Overall: super worth it!

Went here on Xmas day to find someone had fallen off. Highly recommend you don’t stand in the cliff edge, as it’s dangerous. Great little steep hike to get to the falls. Nice cold water, which you aren’t used to here in the seas. Is approx a 30 minute hike, but steep, so if you have children, it’s probably not the best place.

We went here as part of Mr Ung's safari tour. The waterfall is worth a look however the facilities could do with a bit of sprucing up. The wooden structure is quite dangerous and rickety. Would not recommend bringing children here. There is a pool to swim in at the bottom of the waterfall of fresh running water but it's quite dangerous to get to. Worth a quick visit for the photo ops. We didn't get a drink in the bar. Do not climb where it says 'do not climb'. Our tour guide said that someone had died up there recently due to climbing. I would recommend going here with a guide as they know they're way around.

Its such an amazing place with lots of things to see , the hiking trail wasn’t easy as the climbing is so steep and slippery at some point, but it was worth the trouble when me and my wife reached the view point it was magnificent view and the waterfall was so cold and refreshing. Just make sure to bring with you a proper shoes and enough drinking water .

To arrive: if you go in motorbike or SUV its OK. If not, you need to leave the car and to walk/ track 850m. With smalls kids is hard. Then when we arrive the current of the river was so strong cause the rain, so we didn't swim. They have a cool but dangerous bridge. We couldn't reach the top.

Learn from my mistakes. To get to the famous view of the waterfall, climb the mountain on the RIGHT *bank* of the waterfall (i.e. the waterfall's right side and your left side when approaching the waterfall). This way the climb will be considerably easier. I climbed on both sides of the waterfall coz I missed the waterfall on the first one. And wear proper shoes and bring water. It's a tough climb.

Waterfall aside , the way to reach it is like rock climbing at professional level. . Very steep trail.. its not for weak heart as you will be getting cardio exercise without warning .. and this time when I went in June theres not enough water . So it's not that spectacular as in pics . Good for jungle adventure . There aren't any vendors out there ..so bring your own drink or food. Will not be visiting it again

Not as big of a waterfall when it's not rainy season, but still definitely worth a trip. The entry fee is 50 baht, this comes with a free bottle of water. The waterfalls down low are impressive, but you can climb the paths around the river to reach higher up, there is a beautiful viewpoint although it's hard to reach. There are no markings or signage telling you to turn toward the water, so we climbed past it for a little bit. The only way of knowing if you're there is by trying.

Beautiful area. It was a bit difficult to follow the trail, we realised that we probably didn't make it all the way up after going down. The climb was rather steep from time to time. But it was worth it! Don't make the same mistake as we did if you arrive with a scooter - we thought we had to park at the elephant park and walked quite a long way to reach the beginning of the waterfall. When we arrived at the waterfall, we realised that there was several scooters there and that we could have gone all the way.

Loved it, a nice little hike up to the waterfall with nice views and little pools of water to swim in; low season so no tickets or fees (visited in September)

Magnificent view, easier access than before. Totally liked it and recommend. There are two waterfalls and this pic is from waterfall2. Waterfall1 near the elephants is okay but this one is the beauty and a must visit. It will probably be better in rainy season.

Incredibly scenic, although bring decent footwear (trainers at least) as it does involve some hiking and traversing across wet rocks to get to the top.

the best waterfall I’ve ever been to. It’s nothing compared to Na Muang 1 waterfall. The climbing to the highest point was very exciting but only if you’re in a good physical health, it’s very difficult, you have to use both your arms to get up and there are some very slippery points. Bring good shoes. The view from the top is extraordinary and worth the hike

Lovely to get out in nature away from the tourist crowds. On the little road to the falls is Samui chocolate, definitely worth stopping at their cafe. Their small batch chocolate is incredible. And you can sip/ eat your treats whilst looking out towards their cacao trees. Amazing.

Nice and spicy hike, waterfall is beautiful, definitely wear a shoes. You can have a deep there. When we visited around 2pm, there was like 15 people at the top.

Nice waterfall that gets a lot nicer if you climb down a little further. Not a difficult climb but if you're clumsy maybe don't try.

Car parking nearby, from there a short walk over an old wooden bridge ("one by one") to see the waterfall closer. Up the hill to the top but a difficult hike. Anyway, worth a visit due to the tropical forrest.

At some steep places you need to crab the rope to climb. So I assume that man cannot go here when it is rainy or still wet.

It's totally worth the climb! Be aware that most of the path is super steep and some parts slippery. You should wear steady walking shoes. Once you've reached the spot, you can enjoy unbelievably stunning views. The dip in the water is super refreshing

Easy to find, parking available, 10 min walk from the elephant kingdom, but you find parking at the end too. Walk is intermediate , as even with ropes you have to lean a lot or bend your knees under 45 degrees to go up. Not needed hiking shoes, Able to bath near the wooden bridge( take your bikini!) and there are refreshments are the start of the waterfall. We got to the top in @20 min taking pictures and going slow. Precious place to visit!

The waterfall is not the one immediately as the entrance, there's a small hike to do. Big vertical, not much in distance, so hike down is easier to do than hike up. Saw people in sandals doing it, not recommended - wear proper shoes. Hike needs a little minimum of agility.

  • 5/5 Tobias B. 1 year ago on Google
This here is the “waterfall 2”. You need to hike a little bit up the mountain along the river/waterfall to get to the top of the waterfall. Sometimes this gets very steep and dangerous because of wet and slippery stones. But the waterfall is very beautiful and it is definitely worth the hike up there.

  • 4/5 Shneur P. 1 year ago on Google
Drive up as far as you can. The walk up to the waterfalls is challenging, not for little kids. They have old ropes / wires to aid you at certain points of the climb. It's quite hard to find the waterfall. You have to climb over some rocks and then you'll see it. The water was really cold and refreshing. It was not so clear though...

Put into Google maps and follow the directions to the base of the falls to park your scooter to avoid a long walk down the road! The following review applies to those trying to reach the top of the water fall: - Bring a STRONG mosquito repellent and apply liberally. We used a 95% deet and they still landed on us during the climb. - Be prepared to get very sweaty and have most of your sunscreen drip off you. - Ensure you are wearing proper enclosed trainers / shoes with decent tread as the path is very steep and slippery through the jungle. - Go past the “No Climbing” sign to start the hike and follow the path up, using the ropes to help / guide the correct path. If you’re not planning to do the hike, don’t stress about proper footwear or mozzie spray. Its a very short walk from the cafe at the base of the fall to the viewing area. We came at the end of May and the waterfall was dry except for a little trickle (see first video) We also didn’t make it all the way to the top like we planned as a huge hornet chased us 🤦‍♀️😅 It’s a lovely hike, just be prepared with lots of water and mosquito repellent!

A great place to visit and bring the kids, there is great parking available. And it is a short paved hike to the waterfall. There is a slide here too that would be amazing during the rainy season.

So the photos online looked amazing so I hired a scooter and drove almost an hour to have a look and go for a swim. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, the water was feral. Hadn't been any rain in Samui for a while and it really made a difference to the state of the falls. Hopefully next time I'm back will be better. There is a bar so was able to kill an hour or so but overall was pretty disappointing.
