Chardham Temple, Mythological importance of three leaves banyan tree for thousands of years When Daneshwari King Karna fell injured in the Kurukshetra war, then Lord Krishna disguised himself as a saint to test the charity of King Karna and asked him to donate something, then King Karna broke his gold ornaments. Pleased with this, Lord Krishna said to ask for a boon. King Karna asked for a boon and said, O God, I am the son of a virgin mother, so I will be burnt on virgin land only. Lord Krishna and Pandavas all came here while doing pilgrimage and offered fire to him. On this, when the Pandavas expressed doubts about the virgin land, then Lord Krishna revealed to King Karna and told Akashvani that Ashwini and Kumar are my brothers, and Tapi is my sister. He is not your and my relative but he is the real God. Then the Pandavas said to Lord Krishna that we have come to know but how will the coming ages know. Then Lord Krishna said that here there will be a butt of three leaves which will be the symbol of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. And whoever respects and obeys him, his wish will be fulfilled by the majesty of King Karna, the complete Daneshwari.
