Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary also known as the Wild Ass Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Little Rann of Kutch in the Gujarat state of India. Spread over 4954 km², it is the largest wildlife sanctuary in India. The wildlife sanctuary was established in 1972 and came under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972. The sanctuary is one of the last places on earth where the endangered wild ass sub-species Indian Wild Ass (Khur) (Equus hemionus khur) belonging to Asiatic Wild Ass species Onager (Equus hemionus) can be spotted.

In awe of this ethereal beauty of Nature. Located West to our country The Sanctuary is a mixture of open desertland and marshy wetlands. This juxtaposed land mass enhanced the diversity. Both Endemic and Migratory species creates wonder to the visitors.

Nothing to see here except some salt manufacturing factory. I went with my hatchback and damaged ground side of the car by hitting the muddy way while heading towards the little Ran. No directions nothing. You will be lost and will finally come back home without seeing anything. Govt should use direction board to show the right way to reach right area. May be the area is good but I could not find anything there.

Better takes local help as it may remain open or not depends, afterall it's a GOVT office. Permit per vehicle is 400 Rs on weekdays and 500 Rs on Weekend. Cash is accepted and ID proof is required.

Wild Ass sanctuary also known as Little Runn of Kutch (LRK). It's a home of Indian Wild Ass. It's a giving you a great opportunity to explore desert, seeing #Wildlife and beautiful migratory birds. If you are not a nature and wildlife lover please don't come because nothing to seeing here for you. Best time to visit is after monsoon to winter. It's a 110 km away from Ahmedabad. Good for Children's. #LetsGuide #LocalGuides
