Barely 78 km from Rajkot, there have been 3,950 environmental educational camps organized since 1982 every year, in which 2,20,293 students of different schools and colleges have been sensitized to the importance of environment conservation. Spread over an area of 654 sq km, Hingolgadh was declared a sanctuary in 1980. It is being managed by the Gujarat Ecological Education and Research (GEER) Foundation in Gandhinagar as the Hingolgadh Nature Education Sanctuary.

It is approximate 200m from the main road. On the way to temple both side shops are present. Cafeterias are also present there. Washroom for ladies and gents are present at the entrance of the temple. There is lack of dustbins. Actually temple is present at the top of the hill and the climbing stairs are straight, so it is very hard for the people to climb who have got medically leg problem. medically unfit people can visit another temple which is present on the ground. Climbing stairs contain fans at appropriate distance. At the top, temple look awesome. A big hoarding of 'maa' is there at top. View from top is awesome. People like to click amazing pics from there. Overall awesome temple.

Hingolgadh has always been an attraction for wildlife lovers and bird watchers. The forest department and GEER foundation has maintained this place very well. The main attraction here are Indian pitta in monsoon, Indian gazelle and many raptors. Birders must visit this place.

This is the temple of goddess Maa Chotila located in Gujarat. You can reach at this place by getting down at Than station and then continue by taking a cab or rickshaw from there. Buses are even functioning from Borivali to Chotila. This is a beautiful temple situated on the mountain. To reach at this place you have to climb around 500 steps. Trust me the view is so beautiful and serene.

Wonderful place for day outing. - It is a dry forest. Don't expect lush green thick forest. - you will pay entry charges at the gate of forest reserve and inside road will take you to camp site. - At the camp site, you can spend little time in cactus garden and other areas - They have kept a python and a snake in observation area as well. Except this, there is nothing much to do. - Hingolgadh museum is located on Hingolgadh fort but it is a private property and is closed for unknown duration as of now. We visited the place in December 2020. - bring your own food and water if you are planning to spend an afternoon as no good restaurants are available on nearby areas
