Food is not great, service is poor. They are clearly going for quantity over quality which is fine if you want to eat lots of average food for a reasonable price. A lot of the dishes look like they are straight from the Costco freezer and deep fried. We were sat next to the door on a freezing cold night and had to keep getting up to close the door every time someone came in or out. We asked to move tables but were told no.

Thought it’s a popular restaurant and yes for sure! There were few dishes we ordered didn’t come to us. Too busy and lack staff. I wouldn’t be happy if working there. Sashimi was a surprising as you can see from the picture, a few pieces of raw fish on the side called sashimi and sushi dishes. I guess it required you to eat more rice to get full quickly!! In general, it wasn’t that good as I thought !!

My partner and I ordered a lot, which is absolutely fresh and delicious! A great experience! I have to admit that the staff are very busy, but they are absolutely friendly and polite! We ordered three times, and the dishes came out until we were full. Really valued my money. The fried rice is very delicious. We left a little fried rice but there was no extra charge. We noticed that leftover more than 200g may occur extra charge which is reasonable. I will definitely come back with my family!

I've been to a few Okami branches, and I'd probably say this one was my least favourite. First of all, it's not very obvious that this restaurant is even here. Their signage doesn't even have lighting and it's super hidden. The food was pretty average, and for some of the pieces, you could definitely taste that it was just a bulk frozen pack of the food. They forgot one of our dishes twice, after notifying staff, and we never got that particular dish. For an all you can eat restaurant it's not bad, however, I wouldn't recommend this branch.

All our meals where served with beautiful presentation, fresh and so filling, absolutely nothing could be faulted. Will be back again soon. Additional thanks to you're beautiful and friendly staff. Thank-you Mr & Mrs Kirk and family ♡

had dinner here for the first time in approx 6 months. After having been to this particular location perhaps x25+ with all sizes of groups, we came back to a huge disappointment. Previously, the portions, staff, atmosphere, flavours, freshness, quality, variety and customer service have been faultless. This time was quite literally the polar opposite. After taking my adult daughter and her sister out for her birthday dinner at a disappointing restaurant in Mt Waverly 5 days early, I thought I would play it safe for a do over dinner and come back to where we have always been happy. Unfortunately, this was not the case, it was so strangely different I can only assume either management has changed or the cost of living crisis has encouraged cut backs in places it really should not be

A comfortable restaurant with fantastic service. The menu has plenty of variety, and each dish is tasty. The miso steak is a highlight.

I love, love, love the concept of ‘eat as much as you can’ for a set price. Really allows you to pick and choose and try a few different dishes. Overall, the food was very tasty. I had one dish that I didn’t order and arrived at the table and wasn’t suited to my taste buds. It would be awesome to see little flags with names on the dishes as I just couldn’t remember everything we ordered, especially if this is not your daily genre. One small thing that I noticed was the chairs are very comfortable, but very low to the ground and when you’re 6 feet tall, getting down and back up, without joint issues, was not that easy. Great vibes and felt like a family restaurant. Very popular. I love Sushi! I would definitely recommend.

Good food friendly and yummy. We visit this location quite often as we love the food. Good selection of food. Booked and had dinner last Monday here and as always staff were very friendly and attentive. We always visit this location and always enjoy our meal. I hope one day they will be able to add more dessert options. Loved the green tea ice cream though.

The food that we ordered was pretty average and not as high quality as some of the other Okami branches. Serving sizes were also smaller and didn't match the pictures in the menu. But for an all you can eat place it served it's purpose. If the food was nicer we probably would have eaten more.

We had the all you can eat for 6 of us. Cost included drinks so I thought it was good value for $240 total. Service was very good and everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was great having the front table which is away from the rest of the restaurant. There was a variety of items and all the food was fresh. Some of it could’ve been a little hotter but the quality of the food was good. We had a great few hours. Not a great selection of desserts but we didn’t care as we went home for cake and we were full anyway!

Expectant, terrified, delighted. We made a booking shortly after mask rules were relaxed, and found there were two time slots on offer. We picked one but didn't anticipate dozens of others at the door for a simultaneous mass-seating during a pandemic. We were eventually admitted in turn. It felt like were were being herded to our allocated feeding trough. Baa-aa! Everything was on the menu, or at least it seemed that way by how sticky it was. From there on, it was wonderful. We started by ordering five dishes and the first two turned up in minutes! Tasty, balanced seasoning, and beautifully presented. We kept ordering until we were satiated and were not unimpressed by any of the dishes. Obviously in a journey of gastronomic exploration not all would be entirely to our palate, but there was nothing wrong with even one of them. Will we return? Definitely. (We might wait until covid cases back off a tad.)

They have a good menu and could order anything, except drinks, from the menu. Just under $40/adult, you get to try out variety of dishes. We ordered a fried rice, that was very, very cold and felt 'old'. Giving 4 stars because of that flaunt otherwise the service is good and the rest of the food was great!

Great service at this restaurant! We had all you can eat, the staff were attentive professional and friendly. Food options are broad and everyone ate so much! Dessert was also wonderful. Would 100% go again.

i’ve been here a more than a dozen times and the food is really yummy as well as being great for value. the restaurant is a bit on the nosier side as tables are pretty close together but it shouldn’t be much of a problem as you can hear each other fine. they get quite busy so booking is definitely needed. i noticed coming here with my boyfriend that food tends to come at a slower pace after the first 1 or 2 rounds. but that may only be because they want to save on money and my bf is a speedy eater. other than that you’ll definitely be full and satisfied by the end. everything is super tasty!

We eat all you can eat menu. It was ok, the beef carpaccio was our favorite. The food was ok. The staff was ok but they were in a rush all the time.

First time here, staff were very joyous and friendly, food was quickly delivered to our table. We enjoyed all the dishes and it was what we expected for a busy buffet restaurant.

The kind of dining experience you breathlessly recommend to your friends the day after. Simply incredible food, supplied at a steady pace, and a diverse menu that'll take you several visits to see through. Here's my particular recommendation: as is so often the case with the best things in life, a night at Okami is best shared with the people you love.

Love the food here, always fresh and tasty. Staff are amazing, attentive and friendly. My only criticism is that there is no social distancing ie the tables are very close together and you are almost sitting on someone's lap. As an asthmatic I did not feel safe as there was someone constantly coughing near us

Really good food. Order what you want and as often as you want from the menu and it arrives quickly. This place is always booked out so plan ahead. It is a bit noisy, and the toilets are upstairs they would be my only complaints. For me a great experience.

We love to come here. The food are better than other similar all you can eat restaurants. The food come very fast. The people are friendly and efficient. It would be great if the ice-cream can also be “all you can it” as well. We love the green tea ice-cream and sesame ice-cream very much.

Loud, busy, tasty. You get a great experience. Service is friendly and fast. The menu is slowly evolving, so every now and then, you get something new to try. I would recommend for a large crew, as you can just order a bunch of stuff to try and share.

Had a couple of buffet dinners with my family. Service was quite good and they replenish our food and clear dishes promptly. Considering the price, there is not much to complain about their food. For sure you won't get top class gourmet Japanese food but dining there has always been pleasant. Will go again.

This was the best all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant, by far... we loved the meal and ate handsomely.. we definitely plan to come back. Important to note that the Restaurant was rather full but there was minimal delay in receiving our dishes. Such a great experience!

Very expensive at $46 per head. Food was good but not great, although I am not a connoisseur of Japanese cuisine. The staff were busy and keen for us to order before all our party had arrived. One menu for 6 people, hard to decide when you have to pass the same menu around. We ordered by typing into the phone our choices and showed the waiter. My daughter ordered steamed rice and it did not come, so we ordered it again. It never came despite it being listed on the account. It was a set price for ‘all you can eat’ so it wasn’t like we were charged for an item not provided, however it should have been prepared especially as we requested it twice. The wait staff were hard to catch as they served other patrons and were not at all friendly. The occasion was good, because of the company and the mood, shame about the restaurant.

Nice ambience with friendly staff. However, the pork was a bit undercooked and the miso was way too salty it's like I'm literally eating salt. Portion too small for the price I'm paying. I think you can do better next time.

Second time I've posted review here. Okami Wantirna is our local. I've been to 7 Okami restaurants and this is the worst.. The staff aren't very attentive. We had some kids with allergies and asked for some things but clearly they didn't listen. Gave us the wrong thing. There is not special GF menu as some have posted at other locations. Food was OK but still the "fresh prawns" are not fresh. They have a strong seafood smell and taste to them. Chicken is pretty oily compared to the other places. The menu keeps getting cut back every time I visit. Experience as a whole not so good. For the price I paid (which isn't cheap) I could gave gone somewhere better. Probably won't return to this one. Prefer the Frankston Okami.

The booking system has flaws,but we got a table. While not high class dining, this is tasty and you can ask for more of anything that tickles your tastebuds. I think they need to widen the dessert offered as we didn't bother with any, after our last time there I found the dessert was lacking in taste

Friendly staff and quick service. Great value for money! Some of the dishes are pretty ordinary, however some taste amazing. Their matcha ice cream and taiyaki are great, but shame there’s a limit of one per person. More dessert options would be ideal. Would recommend a visit!

I have been to a few of this chain, and this one despite being smaller and older has been the best. Good food, atmosphere, and service.

I always get the all you can eat option, too expensive to order the dishes separately. Tasty food that comes out quickly. Highly recommend it.

Zandy is an excellent staff, very friendly. The place is clean and cosy. Provides quick service and kid friendly my daughter said the food taste amazing more than the other ‘all you can eat buffets’
