We had a lovely time at voco recently. As IHG members we redeemed a couple of nights with points and, wow, did we get our money’s worth! Firstly at around 5pm on our first night, the hotel surprised us with a bottle of bubbles in our room. Talk about special treatment! Next we dined in the cafe the next day for lunch and the $15 lunch with beverage was such good value for money. Hint: get the vegetarian pizza 🤤 Happy Hour (4 till 6) is also a winner and also after dinner drinks in the bar. Not crowded but great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back given the chance. Many thanks to the awesome team!

Really enjoyed my stay at voco! Staff was lovely, room was excellent. Even got treated to a bottle of wine for my birthday. The buffet breakfast is definitely worth it and great for the whole fam. The only criticism I would have is the pool needs to be heated just at least on one side. Thanks heaps for a lovely stay we will be back.

Nice hotel, I'm an IHG 1 awards member. So I did enjoy the upgraded sea view. Extremely hospitable desk agents. They don't have a concierge to bring your bags. I highly suggest they fix that. The facilities and breakfast are well on par with what you expect so all in all I definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay. Enjoy 😉

First a big shout out to the incredibly helpful and customer service minded reservation staff at the hotel who salvaged the first holiday in two years! We stayed three nights at the hotel in an Ocean View Deluxe Room which has great views of the beach. The room is bright and modern and has one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. The bathroom had a rain shower and Antipodes shower gel and shampoo which we loved. The dining options are great! We had dinner at the Cliffords Grill & Lounge and I would come back to the Gold Coast just to eat at this restaurant again! It's a grill but don't go past the tapas menu. It was sensational! One night we had  dinner in the bar which was also fantastic. The breakfast buffet in the mornings has everything you'd want. The ice cream with the pancakes was a nice touch. We did try the gym as well and it's a very good gym for a hotel. I loved that there were proper spin bikes. We'll definitely come back to the Gold Coast and we'll stay at the Voco for sure.

One of the best value for money hotels I have ever stayed in! I wont even bother looking elsewhere from now on 😂 The rooms are great, spacious and well equipped. Bed is comfy and there are many mirrors. A generous sized bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. Staff were lovely during my stay and the lobby/restaurant is stylish. The location is excellent. It’s super convenient with many shops, restaurants, cafes, grocery stores and other places of interest within walking distance. Not to mention it’s proximity to the beach and the heart of Gold Coast. The tram also stops right outside the hotel. The food service items are very affordable and probably great quality, if the rest of the hotel is anything to go off. There is a pool and gym on site as well, If I remember correctly. Overall wonderful experience, thanks for having us! 💐

This hotel is gold. It has perfect location, near to everything you want in gold coast with G line station in front of its back door. It's very kids friendly. The room is spacious. The breakfast had so many options including gluten free diets and kids menu. The staffs are very nice.

This is such a great hotel which is close to everything in Surfers Paradise. I was so surprised at how family friendly it was as well. A little play area near reception with a cubby, blocks and books was great for when we needed to get out of the room. The buffet breakfast was fantastic with great variety. We actually loved the two other restaurants there, Social House and Clifford's Bar and Grill. The staff went out of their way for me and my kids - including colouring mats, special meals and even helping me at night with warm milk for my toddler. A special mention to Ann at Social and Jenny at Clifford's for how lovely they were. The rooms are neat and tidy and the room staff do a great job. Nothing to fault, I would definitely recommend and would return.

I walked into the lobby and thought wow, this place is stunning! Friendly staff, willing to help with anything you ask. Though l was sorely disappointed with the state of the room. Not only did l have to call the cleaners in, as there was stains on the sheets and pillow cases, there was dust in the ac vents. The room was out dated, carpet is old, the room l was given, had a view of the pool. I was not informed, so we had to keep the curtains shut. On the plus side, food was great. Room service was nice, and the buffet breakfast was amazing. And of course the location, it is only a 15 minute walk to surfers and 5 minutes via taxi.

The room was well presented and clean. Location of the hotel was fairly good for our purposes. We opted in to the buffet breakfast which was lovely. To celebrate my partner's birthday, they did provide a bottle of wine which was really thoughtful. The pools were also nice to use, and the gym was fine. We did have unfortunately a bad start to our visit when we tried to check in. There was no parking available and so I sent my partner to check in (in order to get access to the parking). The staff member was apparently suspicious of my partner, kept repeating that he needed to see me, and ignored her question about whether I could leave the car in their driveway. Other than that particular staff member, everyone else was friendly.

Pretty decent hotel close to the main part of Surfers Paradise. Room was clean and comfortable, exactly what you want when heading for a small trip to the Gold Coast. While all boxes were firmly ticked, small downside as I had some issues calling reception to get some amenities sent up, however likely to do with it being peak season and the front desk looked a little understaffed. Won't really rake them over the coals too much about that. Parking and breakfast are both reasonably priced and can be purchased separately. Lots of dining options on site as well as a short walk away.

Great hotel, with great location. Very clean, with daily service, daily change of towels, and vacuum. Staff were very friendly and helpful for any enquires and very prompt. Breakfast was amazing, plenty of options and everything to choose from. Two swimming pools, spa and a big play area for the kids to enjoy. Very close to the beach and the Surface Paradise area. Would definitely recommend and come back to stay.

I am impressed with Voco previously known as Watermark hotel. It is still maintained well after new management. The service was outstanding, had a faulty shower head, next morning at 7am the problem was instantly fix, the operator was responsive and attend to us immediately. The delivery for new towels and tooth brush was quick too unlike Crown plaza , which never picks up phone when calling operator, had to always go down and never gets delivered despite 2-3 times reminder. Anyway. Another story. But I can see the workers are diligent and happy to help in this hotel, such as Olivia in morning buffet, she attends to all jobs no matter big or small, before customers ask for spoon or knife, she gives it right away. The hotel is lucky to have hard working young staff members. Location no need to say, parking is convenient. The reception people makes check in and check out easy and smooth. Will definitely book again. Thank you

We stayed here for a trip to the Gold Coast in mid-December, 2023 and were incredibly impressed with this hotel, especially considering the low price we paid at that time! Right when you pull up, this place has curb appeal. It’s a massive, skyscraper-like building just a couple blocks from the beach and the lobby is something you would expect in a Vegas resort. Very impressive surroundings. The rooms are beautiful, modern, with very comfortable beds and picturesque views (even with the cheapest room on offer, we were on I believe the 18th floor with a fantastic view of the Gold Coast even though we didn’t spring for the ocean view room). The hotel is very centrally located, just a short walk to the beach and Surfer’s Paradise where all the shops, restaurants and nightlife is located. On my next Gold Coast visit, this is where I’ll be staying!

One of the best places I've stayed on the gold coast ever.. and got it at a great deal for $125. Room perfect. Breakfast brilliant, transport right out the front. Nothings a hassle for the staff. There's nothing bad at all about this hotel at all. One tram stop to Cavill ave. 👌👌

It was so refreshing to get accommodation that ticked all our boxes, price was fair, the service from all the staff was absolutely 1st class professional service, the beds are sooooo comfortable , views from our room were breathtaking and a joy to lookout over the inner water inlets. If you stay here I highly recommend the buffet breakfast, the food was fantastic and fresh with a huge choice of fresh food to satisfy any palette. It is an ideal accommodation with the gorgeous beach within a short 2 minute walk and tram stop directly outside for easy transit along this beautiful coastal city. 5 stars simply isn't enough for the Voco and it's amazing staff that made our 4 day stay one of the best holidays my wife and I have ever had, thankyou everyone at the Voco 🥰

The hotel is nice but the room’s carpet was all stained and smell of toilet smell. Make sure check the sheets when you check in as there was red stains (assuming win)on the bed hidden under the pillows.Face towel had big unwashed makeup mark. At the front desk there is a sign of IHG clean promise but unfortunately that doesn’t work inside the rooms and you don’t want to keep complaining to ruin your day so zero hygiene.

Stayed at work and had a wonderful stay. One of the staff members was very helpful and very nice. I don’t exactly remember their name. The guy seemed to be of Indian origin it seemed, Ajay maybe? Not sure. Had issues with keycard but he helped throughout my stay and arranged the loveliest room. Thanks to you and your team mate. 💜

I’ve stayed here during a work trip. For a single person two twin beds were given. Apart from that rooms feel old and needs an urgent renovation. The rooms smell moldy and damp as well There were spiders in the room as the cherry on top. I’ve asked for some tooth brush & tooth paste at night and was asked to go to reception as they don’t have anyone that could bring it. For a 4 star hotel this is odd.. Next day went to reception to get it, now they said they’ll send it with someone to the room. Breakfast was mediocre, with bland food options. Staff doesn’t seem professional as they gave our seats to someone else while we were picking our food. The next spot was plain dirty which looked like food was spilled all over the floor. I am not sure how this hotel can hold 4 stars to be honest with so little staff, bad hygiene, old rooms. Location is quite central though.

Forgot to review this place after our stay back in November 2022. Great location away from the loudest areas of Surfers, yet walking distance everywhere, clean room and great service. The room service food was very reasonably priced, and the fish and chips was hands down the best we had during our 6 months in Australia and NZ! Make sure to ask for some extra of that lime aioli though! The pool areas are decent as well if you’re into that, but you can just walk out Clifford street for 2 minutes and you’re at the beach. And that’s really why you’re in surfers paradise - right?! All in all, would stay here again if we ever come back to Queensland!

Actually I had good memories of the hotel before I ordered room service. I just ONE fish and chips I checked it three times in almost two hours, and I had no choice to cancel it. They haven't taken any action, and if you want to eat fish and chips here, they seem to be catching fish, so take that into consideration and order

This was a last minute idea to go to Surfers from Sydney and were very happy with our choice. Rooms are excellent; clean and good size. Facilities for eating and drinking brilliant. Location also good for us as it was a little out of the Cavil Ave area which is what we wanted for a bit of quiet, but was only a short walk there. Very happy

Absolutely stunning! My partner and I were very lucky to stay at the voco for the past week and had an incredible stay. The rooms were lovely and stocked with plenty of cute and niche details that really set the voco apart from other hotels. Staff were all friendly and checked up on us frequently and the amenities were great! Breakfast was decent - but it lacked basics such as a barista! Other than that location was perfect and there was overall little fault in our stay!

This hotel is probably the best in this area that I've ever visited. As soon as we unpacked in our room, we went down to the little cafe and had the most delicious buffalo wings I've ever eaten before, and it was also a 10c deal which is extremely cheap. Then we went down to the beach which was a surprising 2 minute walk away. Beautiful scenery. As soon as we got back to the hotel, we had dinner, and then we ate the huge $84 tomahawk steak. Although it was a little bit expensive, it sure was delicious!

IHG Diamond elite member. Nice hotel and rooms and Tom was so helpful during our stay. However the hotel really needs to improve the level of customer service and cleanliness for the breakfast. The breakfast buffet was a huge mess! We arrived at 08:30am and the restaurant was only 1/2 full but the scrambled eggs, orange juice, hash browns, bread was all empty. The cereal section was a huge mess and we asked your staff member called IILANAA to wipe our table but she gave us attitude and didn’t want to wipe it. So we ended up wiping it ourselves and we lived happily ever after !

There was a couple of issues but to my surprise the manager upgraded our room and we are very happy. The buffet breakfasts here are also beautiful. Would highly recommend this place for high service standards and customer rapport.

Room old bathroom needs renewing. Carpet dirty. Reported cleaning issues to reception ( room not cleaned, toothpick and cigarette buttin hallway.. still there the next day. Breakfast good but was told by reception that could not pay for only 2 days, must pay for 3 days, even though leaving early on the 3rd day and that breakfast would be supplied ( take away ) on 3rd day…. Not supplied Anything but a4 star hotel, more like 2 to 3 stars hotel Very ordinary hotel Would not recommend or stay again.

Great location, close to restaurants but not the busiest area thus the price is very good! Hotel has 2 pools, one face east the other face west, so you can swim and soak up the sun depending on sun direction. Very good breakfast, keep refilling! 4 star was given to rooms because the rooms are slightly dirty and old. We've got a connection rooms, one with pay tv one without, one with tissue box one without. The view from rooms are very good! There is a toddler play area on the ground floor.

Stayed 5 nights with daughter for birthday trip up from Sydney. Could not be happier with our stay - location, staff, service was super friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. We enjoyed daily drinks at Social House and indulged in Monday night pizza specials with Korean sweet & spicy sauce wings. We got the loveliest surprise on our second night with a beautiful cakes platter laid out for us in the room acknowledging my daughter’s 11th birthday. Thank you so much for an unforgettable birthday trip for my little girl!

Awesome hospitality. Awesome location. Truly Star hotel. The only thing I would think could be better was self laundry. Laundry required $5 for wash and $5 for drying. Besides it was taking only coins. That was a bit high price and wasn't convenient to get so many coins. Though the hotel reception was very candid and always provided me as many coins as I wanted. However I would still go back to voco any time

Lovely hotel! Very clean, great housekeeping service, love that they are environmentally friendly - reducing the use of plastic, etc. The room has everything you need, even the ironing board and iron. Good coffee machine in the room. We paid for the buffet breakfast and were very surprised with the variety of choices, great value! Nice pools and a spa! Friendly and helpful staff! Such a lovely place to stay, the great location in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Will definitely come back again and highly recommend to everyone!

Stayed 20 to 25 Nov 2022. Location is great, just next to Surfers Paradise tram station and really convenient for commuting to all the places we wanted to visit in Gold Coast. Beach is nearby too! Staff were professional and clipped in speech. Breakfast was ok, nothing too different from other hotels. Need to leave a tip for the housekeeping staff, else won't get top up of extra toilet roll (we forgot on 1st and 3rd day). For our family room, there was only one chair at dining table. We had to lay out our own picnic mat in front of the TV to have our takeaway dinners. No bedroom slippers, toothbrushes and toothpastes provided at check in, had to call to request as part of "sustainability" and go-green efforts. Only one warm jacuzzi pool for my kids to play in, the rest were super cold sandy and salty pool water. Happy that hotel provided a boxed breakfast for us on our last day (included in the super expensive last day's rate), as we checked out at 5am local time. Would recommend to friends who do not mind paying more for accessibility and convenience.

Our first impression of the hotel was good. Large lobby with high ceiling, clean and nice decor. To keep it short I will list the good and bad points about this hotel: The bad: - check-in time was 2 hours. We arrived there around 1.40 and indicated that we were going to check in early at the time of booking. Still the rooms took in total over 2 hrs to be ready. One room was ready at around 3.30 and another after 4. They ended up compensating for the trouble with a 150 AUD voucher for food but only after we complained multiple times. - when we got into our room, all four of the pillowcases were stained. Had to make three phone calls to get them replaced, even when the replacement came one was still stained (picture attached). Bed was also sloppily made, nothing like in the pictures on the booking website. - the second room’s toilet would not flush and they never came to fix it until we notified them at the reception - the mini bar was not stocked at the time of check in in one of the rooms - the next day room service came to clean the room. They did not wipe the floors of the bathroom as we can still see some stains we specifically told them to clean before we left them in the room. Again, beds were sloppily made and the face towels not replaced. - ordered room service at 4.45 in the morning (I was pregnant and was starving for food. To make it quick just ordered a ham and cheese toastie). Took one hour to arrive. - the breakfast scene on the first day was not pleasant either. There was water on the floor waiting to be cleaned up. Staff frantically shuffling for service. Tables left uncleared. Long line for the omelette station. The good: - little play area for the kids in the lobby - food at the restaurants was fresh and tasted good. The wait staff was efficient and friendly - the hot water in the room was quick to kick in and water pressure was good - the rooms were clean including the bathroom when we checked in - staff at least tried to remain calm and friendly and apologetic I do not like writing bad reviews but this cannot go ignored. Majority of these issues can be addressed if there is more staff and proper training. If there is a hospitality shortage then don’t accept as many bookings as you normally would. Why have the floor staff suffer because of poor hotel management? I hope this review calls for change as I can see everyone working so hard to meet the needs of people and the hotel is very promising at a great location.

We had booked a king bed but initially were told there was none.!then after we refused the singles they suddenly found one. Also we were members. Membership points were also lost during Covid. There was no parking in the hotel available as the hotel must have been full. When I enquired why the hotel was so full he said it was the sunshine but no it was the 100s of schoolchildren who were booked there which made getting lifts, breakfast and everything else very slow. The rooms were clean and comfortable although mini bar didn’t even have water in the fridge. And small stocks of everything. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 4days and 3 nights here. The room was so beautiful and view. However, I am very disappointed with the Room Attendant on our 2nd day, we were asked if we need a service but I told her, come back for 15minutes as we are leaving and came back in the evening, the room was not serviced. So, I went down to the front office and told them our room were not serviced, what she did was she gave us bath towels and I asked for a bath mat and she told us to deliver in our room, but we waited for a couple of hours give us bath mat in our room, but no one came. For the amenities, they don’t have vanity kit, slippers and bath robes. Also, we don’t have water inside the fridge, only milk. But we asked the front office, if they can deliver to our room however, there’s a charge for $25 per bottle. So disappointed as they don’t have refilling station in the hotel. Overall, the place was good and the great view as well.

Stayed for a night. Overall a good hotel however the staff didn't let me take a glass of milk for my sick daughter (who vomited in front of the staff) to the room from the breakfast table. A little bit of understanding will take them a long way. Parking was full so parked my car on street. Overall stay was ok.

Excellent service from the reception staff. They were more than happy to assist with questions I had. I highly recommend to pre book parking at the hotel, as we had to park at the local car park, which was only a 5 min walk away but with young children and lots of bags it was difficult. The staff at VOCO were helpful and showed exactly how to get there on a map, etc. The room was clean and comfy, had all we needed. The view was fantastic and definitely pay extra for breakfast. The food was all fresh and delicious, and so many options (gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc). Fantastic for children too. Will definitely be staying here again.

The staff were lovely and very accommodating to my request. My husband was celebrating his 40th birthday and I emailed Voco beforehand if I could have the room decorated as a surprise for him. They replied and said that I could send them the balloons/decors before we arrive and they'll organise it for me. When we arrived, the front desk staff Marina was very lowkey about it (which I love!), she asked us to wait in the lobby for a while and gave us coffee. I assume she went up the room and checked it herself first if before letting us in. The surprise was a success thanks to the hotel staff! It made our stay even more memorable. Both of us felt so special during our stay. The room is spacious, had a great view, comfy bed, clean bathroom. The location is very convenient too. lt is right in front of the tram station, Surfers Paradise, and right across Skypoint. The beach is just a 5-min walk. Check in and check out were seamless. The buffet breakfast was also great. I was surprised to see rice on the spread because the Asian in me LOVED it!! Haha! I would highly recommend this hotel 👌🏻

This hotel is marketed as a 4 star hotel. Unfortunately, this could not be further from reality, reception has displayed an IHG cleanliness promise which was not adhered to. The hotel room that I stayed in was unclean, the carpets had not been vacuumed and the bed linen was stained. These matters were brought to receptions attention upon check in however the matter was not resolved until the following morning. In addition, the pool water was murky for majority of my stay, the issue was only resolved one day before I decided to checkout early. A few days into my stay we received stained bath towels following housekeeping services. This was the last straw, resulting in early checkout by two nights. Upon checkout reception staff did not ask why we were checking out early. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking to stay in a four star hotel.

Very beautiful hotel Clean tidy and beautifully styled. Coffee shop within the voco was the best coffee I've ever had. HATS OFF to the lady who made ours this morning. The bed, however, was like a cement slab extremely hard and not comfortable. The pillows were the opp no support and super soft so had to fold them over to get any support. Shame it wasn't somewhere in the middle for both bed and pillows. Sadly I wouldn't stay again just because of how hard the bed was. Restraunt within the hotel were amazing. Clifford's is a must if staying in the area 100 out of 100 for food quality and service.

Very clean rooms. Good selection for buffet breakfast although can be busy. Staff are very pleasant. Check out the rapid lunches - great value for $17. Took advice from other reviewer and place in Bruce Bishops car park a short distance away$30 for 3 days. Hotel is very close to the beach and very pleased with everything.

Kid and family friendly hotel with play areas for kids on the lobby and level 2. Pools on 2 different levels, one east facing and the other west facing. Breakfast was good value but on weekends expect a queue so set aside time for that. Generally, most staff are helpful and courteous! Rooms are clean but not the best, maybe slightly dated bathrooms but still comfortable. Doors are not very sound proof so if you have noisy neighbours, it can keep you up all night. For the value, location, comfort and activities they provide, I would recommend it. But don't expect a luxurious 5 star romantic quiet getaway.

Very nice hotel. Rooms seem kinda aged but clean. Located on surfers paradise blvd with easy access to most things. Outdoor pool was alright but not warm enough during the night. Decent sound insulation in the room. Limited Underground guest parking. Decent buffet breakfast. Worth a visit.

Very stylish hotel, when I book a hotel I do so for the experience, when you choose to stay here you have to respect that the hotel is set up with a theme, it's a boutique hotel with great little quirks that only a boutique would have, the room we stayed in was spacious and I did not need to ask but we did get a quiet little upgrade from a city view to ocean view room, staff were very nice and had the personality that you expect from a hotel with a bit of flair to it, the location is superb, has an amazing dinner buffet at waves buffet restaurant, I have seen comments that it is overpriced so I was hesitant but it is absolutely worth it, the food selection and quality was the best I have ever experienced at a buffet and I have found a new favourite place to eat. Two swimming pools, one on the east side the other on the west, very close to the beach and if you love style then you will adore the carpets, they have done an amazing job at designing this hotel and we will be back!

Stayed for a birthday romantic getaway without the children and was not let down. We stayed in an Ocean view King Suite which was your basic sleeping arrangement but the comfort and views were lovely. Definitely recommend them and while your stay you must do a sunset Riverside Cruise from Cavill Ave. Amazing!

Despite the rooms being a little small, I can't speak more highly of this place! The staff is what really did it for me. I was experiencing some anxiety due to some personal reasons and needed a separate room from my partner for one night, and they pulled all the strings that they could and worked their magic. It was honestly so amazing, and I wasn't sure if I could leave them tips, but if I could I would! They were so accommodating to my needs and it honestly made me feel so relieved. My initial room was great, with just the hotel basics, I wished their cleaning services did a more thorough job though. When they collected the remnants of the room service, they didn't clean our table, with the crumbs and things like that which was a little disappointing. Also wished the rooms came with a little kitchenette, which would've been handy. Overall, the staff and their kindness really over rules most of this, so my criticisms are simply secondary. Thank you VOCO for having us!
