Our
stay
at
the
Mermaid
Waters
Hotel
was
disappointing.
My
husband
and
I
paid
a
total
of
$1967.08
to
stay
for
a
week.
We
were
also
required
to
give
a
refundable
bond
of
$200
upon
arrival.
It
took
a
few
days
for
this
to
be
returned,
in
spite
of
having
already
paid
in
full.
For
this
sum
of
money,
there
is
a
minimum
standard
of
housekeeping
expected,
yet
upon
arriving
in
the
hotel
room,
the
grout
in
the
shower
was
covered
in
mould
and
the
drains
were
not
kept
well.
The
cistern
on
the
toilet
also
ran
continuously.
We
also
discovered
that
in
spite
of
the
TV
having
the
capacity
to
connect
to
Netflix,
the
TV
is
unable
to
bring
up
the
hotel's
log
in
screen.
I
mentioned
this
to
a
member
of
staff
at
the
desk
and
he
assured
me
housekeeping
would
take
care
of
the
cleanliness
issues.
Nothing
was
done
about
the
cistern,
which
ran
loudly
throughout
our
stay.
The
member
of
staff
mentioned
that
he
was
attempting
to
convince
head
office
that
Chromecast
facilities
were
worth
the
investment
for
televisions
-
it
is
disappointing
that
head
office
is
making
it
difficult
for
their
staff
to
provide
an
experience
for
guests
which
is
standard
at
many
hotels
now.
We
suspect
looking
at
the
outdated
vacuum
cleaners
that
the
staff
have
to
work
with
that
this
is
an
issue
with
many
of
the
hotel's
operations.
The
cleanliness
issues
were
addressed
to
a
point
-
the
photos
I
am
attaching
are
of
the
bathroom
AFTER
it
had
been
cleaned.
During
our
stay,
we
also
realised
that
the
skirting
had
not
been
cleaned
in
some
time
and
the
kettle
for
the
tea
and
coffee
making
facilities
was
dirty
-

On
the
Saturday
of
our
stay,
our
room's
bins
were
full
so
we
put
the
'I'm
a
mess'
sign
on
the
door
to
indicate
that
housekeeping
was
needed
and
on
this
day,
it
did
not
arrive,
so
we
were
stuck
with
full
bins
overnight
until
housekeeping
happened
the
following
day.
We
have
had
experiences
with
four
star
hotels
in
the
past,
and
this
is
certainly
not
one.
This
weekend
we
are
staying
at
a
four
star
hotel
in
Victoria
which
is
spotless,
staff
go
beyond
in
service,
upgrading
our
room
for
no
cost
and
all
amenities
work
as
they
should
-
for
less
per
night.
We
are
giving
stars
for
Jack
at
the
desk,
as
he
cared
upon
checkout
when
we
let
him
know
the
issues
hadn't
been
rectified
and
for
the
convenience
of
buffet
breakfast.
