We had a warm greeting on arrival, our room was clean and smelt fresh. The spa was amazing and the breakfast was awesome. We will be back :)

My 5 star rating is for the wedding that we attended at the hotel yesterday 9th April - i just wanted to thank all the staff for the amazing service they provided and for doing such an excellent job with the wedding. To Darren the bar and waiting staff and a special mention to the chef and kitchen crew set up pack up cleaners just every single one of you. Congratulations to you all and we will definitely recommend your venue to family and friends. The bistro served us amazing food the night before the wedding and a large group had breakfast with you this morning. The hotel rooms were spacious clean and very comfortable and although I didn't stay this time around i have no hesitation in booking a room for the next function. On that note i will again say thank you for all your hard work and we will definitely be back.

We specifically booked this place because there was an option of 2 large beds instead of 1 king bed - yet we didn't get this and couldn't change rooms, which is quite disappointing for $400 NZ per night. Their buffet breakfast is also significantly worse than the photo- there pancakes are raw on one side and burnt on the other and are of very poor quality, no berries or fried eggs available, and the scrambled eggs, pastries and bread they serve is the cheapest and worst possible quality imaginable. The coffee and milk available in the rooms is also airplane quality. Will not be going back.

I had my 21st Birthday function here, while also staying at the hotel for 5 nights. Staff are super friendly and attentive! This is ranging from the greetings from the housekeepers in the hallway, the reception staff, bar staff, wait staff, etc. Managers also went out of their way to wish me a Happy Birthday. Food is great, facilities are easily accessible. Pool is very clean in comparison to other hotels in the area. The hotel is in a central location with competitive prices - will definitely be back!

Great hotel, nested in a not-too-busy part of gold coast. Was initially worried about noise from the adjoining pub next door but it wasn't too bad. The walls were a bit thin though, as we could hear a neighbouring room snore on the first night. Room was clean and tidy. Continental breakfast buffet was ok. Overall no real complaints for the price and location, can consider it one of our best stays in a gold coast accommodation.

We had a nice stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. My little baby, 1 year old, loved the garden around the pool. The buffet breakfast was very nice. There is a about 25 min walk to the beach. Highly recommend to have a walk from the hotel to the beach early morning, it's so peaceful and energetic :)

A pleasant affordable place to stay. Easy to find and when they gave us a key to a room that hadn’t been cleaned they quickly changed us to another one. We stayed in and ordered room service and all I can say is that the food was plentiful, tasty and filling. Only complaint was that the salad was very sparse. One wedge of tomato. Sad. We will be coming back.

It has a good location with easy parking access but that's about it. Check into our room and it has mould growing on the ceiling. The room is not clean at all. Brown stains on curtains and hair in the bathroom floor and sink. Tell reception and takes 45 mins to give us another room and lady just passes us room key so rudely without an apology and walks off in a hurry. Get new room, sink leaks and drips on the floor underneath you, TV doesn't work and lady at reception tells us there's nothing she can do. At least it's a bit cleaner this time. Breakfast is powdered eggs and steamed bacon, no juice options and plates had old food on them. Partner picked up a plate and it had an old butter packet stuck to the bottom of it. We had breakfast elsewhere the last 2 days it was that bad. Very disappointing.

The room is fine but they say breakfast is served until 9:30 We arrived at 9 to have the dregs left and then not making any more food, if that is the state the buffet is left in at 9 then say the buffet ends at 9

Great hotel only minutes from the Gold Coast Convention Centre. Nice clean modern rooms. Very comfortable. My stay included a buffet breakfast which was good & 2 free drinks. Either soft drink, coffee, beer or house wine

The room was very cost effective - clean, big, affordable, easy to access. It came with a private car parking slot with not many cars parked. The breakfast was great, you can make your own English big breakfast. The dishes served at dinner was so so....nothing different from a 3-star hotel, and the bar was under-staffed.

A great hotel for a short term or long term stay. Rooms are clean, tidy and a great size. The beds a soft and comfortable. There is a Graziers Steakhouse and Dan Murphys in the same venue. Pacific fair shopping centre and trams are only a short distance away. Highly recommend this hotel for cleanliness, locations and amenities.

Great hotel, very efficient & friendly staff, clean room, loved the King Koil bed. Fantastic that restaurant is right next door and dinner was delicious. Good value for money, will definitely stay there again and highly recommend.

We have stayed at this motel over the past few years a couple of times for different reasons. The staff have always been professional as well as friendly, rooms are clean beds are extremely comfortable, it’s aircon, quiet, a great location as well as a responsible price. Bonus is a great coffee shop across the road., There’s one person hands down who is the reason for this review. 2 week in a row Rhys has gone above and beyond, so helpful , professional, down to earth super reservation star I’ve ever in-counted. Rhys we appreciate your amazing kindness towards us locals . Thanks mermaid night cap

Found Mermaid Waters Hotel in the first place because of the price and the review in the Google Search. Decided the booking eventually based on the combination of the price, location, ppls review, and guess what... - Location was actually convenient to travel around the Gold Cost as long as you have a car. - It is quiet at night where all family had good rest. - Breakfast was included in our package, and it is good in value and kids love it! - Food & Drink in the hotel restaurant - CP is pretty high. - Love the atmosphere in the restaurant and bar area! - Overall the environment in the Hotel: friendly and comfortable when I walk around. - The room we stayed - has separated bedrooms plus a basic kitchen; plenty of space for a family of 4. - Did a few times of the room service - simple and quick.

comfortable stay. Bright and airy room. No smells. No geckos 😛. Lots of space. Modern interiors. Good facilities in room. Private and secure parking. Definitely recommended. I think the breakfast could have been a little better though in terms of choices of food items.

Myself and Arielle had the pleasure of having our wedding at the Mermaid Waters Hotel. A special thanks to Brodie for coordinating our wedding in a professional manner, being able to accommodate our every needs and being extremely friendly from the get go. The hotel had great food, excellent staff, luxurious rooms and above all insanely good value for money! Great job guys!

I saw a number of very good revues, so I can only presume that I have different expectations. The breakfast was very average and not at all what I would call good. I managed to get poached eggs only after making a fuss. Most of the items offered and there was not a big choice were cheap versions. If you don't have a car, it is difficult to get there. The maintenance is poor, the fridge was so noisy that we had to turn it off. There was also a hole in fly screen. Te servicing of the room is not a high point and the carpet needs a cood vacuum. My wife found a lot of bits of food on the floor. Overall, I can't recoomend this place.

We had a few room issues bit the staff were very accommodating and helpful and very supportive. The food was amazing too from breakfast to dinner. Close to Pacific Fair shopping centre and the bus runs past. Would definitely stay there again.

great hotel rooms were clean & nice but dont get room service, they don't even serve it with a cloche (cover) for goodness sakes... it was a great meal but my $40 room service steak was cold along with chips & mashed potato all cold, took it back as coldly as it was served. they don't even reheat it & reserve it, so what, if you complain you lose it, felt like i was being scolded $ sent to bed with no dinner. we actually thought the breakfast was ok, there were juices on the bar which can be missed, i did ask my wife if they were powdered eggs, but they were delicious anyway. I think if it was laid out better it would be more appealing. Response from the owner: Today thanks for ignoring my emails that's the way to boost ratings & sales.

We are locals and were looking for a nice quiet hotel. Pleasantly surprised by the quality and service of this hotel. So clean and modern and buffet breakfast delicious. Only stayed for 1 night but will definitely be back.

We made a last minute, late night booking due to a flight being cancelled. The staff were very accomodating. The 24 hour check in was much appreciated. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of our room, large, clean and the bed was comfy. Buffet breakfast an added bonus. Would stay here again for a short stay.

Such a great little hotel. Conveniently located opposite some amazing eateries and just a short bike ride to the beach. Having a pub with late hours available is certainly handy if you're on holiday. Lots of friendly people there and the staff are very discrete. Side note: they have a food composting tumbler which is great to see industry helping do their part to reduce waste. 10/10 would recommend.

Air cond to low. Bring your own flies, it gives the wine a bit of body. Accused of bringing in the flies that took a dive into misses Rock Wine. Staff not too helpful. Need to be customer focus. Won't be returning, many other options!!!

Our stay at the Mermaid Waters Hotel was disappointing. My husband and I paid a total of $1967.08 to stay for a week. We were also required to give a refundable bond of $200 upon arrival. It took a few days for this to be returned, in spite of having already paid in full. For this sum of money, there is a minimum standard of housekeeping expected, yet upon arriving in the hotel room, the grout in the shower was covered in mould and the drains were not kept well. The cistern on the toilet also ran continuously. We also discovered that in spite of the TV having the capacity to connect to Netflix, the TV is unable to bring up the hotel's log in screen. I mentioned this to a member of staff at the desk and he assured me housekeeping would take care of the cleanliness issues. Nothing was done about the cistern, which ran loudly throughout our stay. The member of staff mentioned that he was attempting to convince head office that Chromecast facilities were worth the investment for televisions - it is disappointing that head office is making it difficult for their staff to provide an experience for guests which is standard at many hotels now. We suspect looking at the outdated vacuum cleaners that the staff have to work with that this is an issue with many of the hotel's operations. The cleanliness issues were addressed to a point - the photos I am attaching are of the bathroom AFTER it had been cleaned. During our stay, we also realised that the skirting had not been cleaned in some time and the kettle for the tea and coffee making facilities was dirty - image attached. On the Saturday of our stay, our room's bins were full so we put the 'I'm a mess' sign on the door to indicate that housekeeping was needed and on this day, it did not arrive, so we were stuck with full bins overnight until housekeeping happened the following day. We have had experiences with four star hotels in the past, and this is certainly not one. This weekend we are staying at a four star hotel in Victoria which is spotless, staff go beyond in service, upgrading our room for no cost and all amenities work as they should - for less per night. We are giving stars for Jack at the desk, as he cared upon checkout when we let him know the issues hadn't been rectified and for the convenience of buffet breakfast.

We had our wedding at the Mermaid Waters Hotel and it was honestly the best night of our lives. From the food, to the venue, to the staff. Couldn’t recommend it enough! Darren was a champion to deal with throughout the entire process! We stayed at the hotel the night of the wedding and the renovated rooms were fabulous! Spacious and clean! Thanks mermaid waters hotel team! You were a bunch of champions! We will definitely be back for another function!

Thank you for a great experience last night! We arrived much later than planned and the staff were so friendly and didn’t mind at all. The beds are truly as comfy as other reviews said they would be! Super fast checkout and again lovely service. Will stay again soon! Thank you so much.

Fair pricing, they helped a minor situation without a blink of an eye. Pretty handy to everything. Rooms were good. Shower was a bit weird with getting the water temperature right but not an issue at all. Recommend.

I just stayed the one night over Christmas in a king single room. The reception staff were friendly & the house staff very helpful. My room was really spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location is close to everything but also quiet. Very good value for money & will stay there again.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Mermaid Waters Hotel! We checked in on Wednesday & out on Saturday and couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. David was the gentleman working the front desk when we checked in & he went above & beyond anything we could have asked for - including raiding a room across the hall from ours when we needed new batteries for the TV remote!🤣 All of the staff we came in contact with were helpful & lovely, my grandkids loved the breakfast buffet, & we’ll definitely stay again next time we find ourselves visiting the Gold Coast!

Was left wishing I had gone elsewhere. Television didn't work properly and was unable to connect to the internet. They ran out of towels. Room service didn't change the bed sheets and didn't get to our room while we were out. Only good thing was the mattress very comfortable.

Check in process was very smooth and well organized, 24x7 reception service. Nice location, ample car parking. Breakfast was good, especially the sweet dish(in a glass container). Staff were quite courteous and helpful. They allowed us to check in at 11am (usual time 10am). Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you can order online from your room(room service). Rooms are cosy and spacious. Bathroom slightly old,but clean and hygienic. Carpet in the room is new, large tv screen. Facilities like tea/coffee making are available in the room as well as a mini fridge. We couldn't use the swimming pool as it was cold weather but pool area is nice n green. Overall had a great experience.

A wonderful clean room with free breakfast!!! We had a great night's sleep in a comfortable room with a bath tub. One less star because check in was an hour later than expected, so we waited until 3pm.

Great rooms. Big, clean and modern. The room service to the rooms and pool from the pub is a great touch. The location makes it ideal for shopping, the beach and major roads. Thanks to all staff working for the time of my stay.

Stayed one night while passing through the Gold Coast. This is one of those places I didn't want to leave. Very clean and modern room. Super friendly staff and a delicious buffet breakfast in the morning. I highly recommend staying here.

Despite requested for higher floor and quiet room during booking, was given room 106 which is near to and along corridor to front desk and restaurant. Was interupted with my sleep as could hear noise, people talking loudly most of the time. Also, the other side of room face waste site. Could hear dump truck in the morning. Pretty sure hotel wasnt fully occupied as I didnt see many people during my stay. Didnt ask for room change as pretty much settled down with 2 big bags unpacked. My only commendation to be given is KUDOS to Miss Bonnie. Was greeted by her at the restaurant for breakfast on 26Jun2023. She was always friendly with a big smile and made my family at ease. She made sure everybody is doing fine despite quite a number of guests were there. I could also hear other guests commending her as well. To the mamnagement, BONNIE is an asset to you!!!! Well done Bonnie!!!

Pleasantly surprised from this hotel, wasn't really expecting much from it for our super short stay but it was very very clean, bright, modern and in a great location. The room was excellent and we'll appointed.

The location is convenient, clean, spacious and well laid out rooms, friendly customer service and there's a restaurant on-site. I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again.

The good: relatively large rooms, swimming pool, breakfast included at the bistro which also serves great meals at other times. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking. The not so good: beds are very soft and saggy. Room doors don't keep out noise from corridor, guest laundry etc. Our room could sleep 4 but only had one chair ( but reception brought another when we asked ).

Stayed for an event here and the place is actually really nice!! I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t expecting much, I was pleasantly surprised! Comfy rooms and the place is well looked after. Breakfast the next morning was delicious!

We had a nice stay at the mermaid Waters hotel, it's a nice a quiet place. The room was nice with a lovely view on the pool. The service was professional and the room was well cleaned. We had the breakfast included: there was a wide range of choice in hot food such as pancakes, egg and bacon. As cold food you can find fresh fruit , juice, yogurt and cereals. Few vegan options are available: plant based milk, fruit, beans and tomato. The place is not on the beach but still is pretty close, you can reach the main attractions by car in less than 10 minutes. If you don't have a car it's not a big deal, there is a bus stop nearby or you can have a nice 20 minutes walk. We had a wonderful time at the mermaid Waters hotel I recommend that!

Very nice welcome at the arrival. Good breakfast in the morning, a lot of options, taste, coffee great! Only thing I would I wasn’t happy about it would be the internet connection on the TV, not a big deal but still. Apart from that, great!

Karen and I found the Hotel reception staff absolutely wonderfully attentive, professional, engaging. Laura (reception) is definitely a get ambassador with a lovely smile and welcoming personality. Our room with a pool view was excellent, newly redecorated and very clean. Unfortunately, the price of drinks in the bar (and) restaurant food was pretty ordinary and overpriced for the venue....was a little over the top..but all in all a very lovely stop over with Laura making us extremely welcome. 😀

  • 5/5 Diane T. 1 year ago on Google
We stayed here after our flight was cancelled. We didn’t know what we were getting ourselves into but were greeted with lovely staff members at reception who gave us a voucher to use at the bar. Upon arriving at the bar we were greeted by Danielle who was a lovely bartender who catered to all of our needs. Very attentive, super chatty and made us feel extremely welcome. She definitely made our night by giving us a friendly face to talk to after a long day (bonus points because she gave me extra honey for my tea!)
