Worst experience in my life. Had 4 nights booking at Moroccan and because we were arrived early so booked 1 day here. They said it was private but people didn’t stop partying and talk loud in the hallway just right outside of our window. And the wall/window is no soundproof whatsoever. I tried to call their “night manager” but nobody answer the phone. The no noise after 11pm policy is a JOKE! I wrote this review at 4:32am. NO one should ever book here. I’d rather sleep in the airport at least it’s quiet at night.

I never write reviews but I had to last minute cancel my booking as they advised me Australians arnt aloud to book the shared accomodation and had to book a private room. Australians should be welcomed with open arms, we are still spending money and as tourists we are still backpacking to places just like every other backpacker. The staff member was also quite blunt and abrupt on the phone. It was incredibly stressful having to find accommodation within an hour of arriving at 7pm but I had no choice and am extremely grateful of the place I did stay at and the friends I made.

Super nice hostel for socializing and meeting other travelers. offers daily events at night such as free burgers or free pizzas, game night or yoga lessons. So even if you’re not that much into partying, it has great opportunities to socialize. Vibe of that hostel is unique, all staff members are very friendly and welcoming - definitely big recommendation staying there.

Absolutely fantastic experience! offered access to bikes and surfboards! We were given free breakfast every morning and across three nights free hot dogs, pizza and burgers. The kitchen space were regularly cleaned and the shower spaces were cleaned daily. Events every evening, Can not fault this hostel 5/5

If you like blaringly loud music at 7pm during the week to the point where it is almost impossible to get a good rest without earplugs, I highly recommend this place for you. Budds may have a no-noise policy after 11pm but not once did I actually see this being enforced during my stay. I stayed here for 10 nights simply for cheap accommodation and its location, but after 8 nights, we could not take it any more and moved to a different and much better accommodation. I stayed in a twin bed room but the room was dirty and walls were cracked. Beds were uncomfortable and creaking (mattresses were stained too). It also didn't help that our room directly faced the pool, which is where people would hang out directly and cause the most noise. Bathroom utilities were not too bad but they could be cleaned a little better. Maybe this is the backpacker's experience and I might have no idea what I'm talking about, but good lord, if you're staying here for an extended period of time longer than 3 nights, find somewhere else.

Staff, location, pool, and wifi are great. There is something going on every night (trivia, beer pong, etc)! They have free bike and surf board rentals. Kitchen is tiny and is under-equipped (one broken bread knife for everyone). Pots and pans are nasty but usable. This is a licensed hostel so you are basically staying in a bar. The music is loud but surprisingly wasn’t too bad in the bedroom. One thing that surprised me was they only provide a sheet for sleeping. I found this odd as there is AC in the rooms so it gets quite cold. Staff was ok with me bringing in a sleeping bag.

It was very noisy from 8 a.m. on weekends, and the music in the balcony hotel exceeded 100 decibels, making it impossible to sleep at all. Living here is the worst experience of my life!

One of the worst stay in my life. I’m writing this on 2:00 because I can’t sleep. There is people outside laughing and talking. I am paying for sleep and all I didn’t do was sleep. Better sleep at my car on the street.

i stayed in budds for 3 nights and it was amazing. it was the first hostel i stayed in and i loved it. it was great social and very clean. Liana was great with her event and it was so fun! she even jumped in the pool with guests for the game. i really enjoyed my stay here and i will back!

I stayed in Budds in Surfers and Bunk at Surfers Paradise. I would 100% recommend Budds to anyone and everyone visiting here. Budds provides free activities and food such as burger nights, pizza nights, and lots of fun activities to meet people in the hostel at night. If you are looking for a way to meet people, you should check out this hostel. The pool and laundry services (takes card) are also really nice. They have free surf boards & bikes that you can take out. One of the activities is a yoga class in the park & a group of us went to get breakfast after at a nearby shop. Also free breakfast in the morning. I have no complaints and wished I booked Budds instead of Bunk for my last stay! BEST HOSTEL I HAVE STAYED IN!!!

One of the best hostel that I've tried so far. A really good atmosphere. Easy to socialize thanks to the activities offered by the hostel, the pool, and ping pong. Always something to do. Good for partying. The staff is really helpful and active. The rooms are clean and good, However, the beds and mattress are bad.

Amazing place to stay, such a family vibe rather than other hostels where you feel separated and it’s hard to make friends. Rooms and cleaned well everyday, pool area is great and gets all the sun, all the staff are amazing so friendly and happy to help. Bar is great the cocktails are amazing and cheap, great event nights and just an overall amazing hostel.

Best hostel I’ve stayed at in Australia! Great vibes, very social and there is always someone keen to play a game of table tennis or pool. Staff are excellent, very welcoming and from the moment you arrive you feel at home and welcomed (not to mention the free drink upon arrival). If you’re heading to the Gold Coast definitely come stay at Budds in Surfers!

This hostel is amazing!! Every night there is something going on like burger and beer for 5$ or seeing the sunset with the whole hostel with free sangria. I’ve traveled Australia for 1 year and this hostel had the best vibe! Special thanks go to the stuff! They do an amazing job there!! Manuel is such a nice guy and a very good entertainer! He made bingo and sunset unique! I can recommend this hostel a lot. You can always find people to talk to and you can make a lot of new friends!

Nice rooms and staff, really close to the beach and the river, they have pool next to bar, a really nice pool. The toilets are always so clean! Cool people there and really good vibes! Completely come back in the near future.

Really nice hostel. I stayed here for 5 nights and it’s one of the best hostel i have bin so far. Clean, games, pool and great mentality if the people and the stuff. I really can recommend it. Perfectly located hostel with top quality facilities. The hostel has a real social feel to it and its so easy to meet other travelers during the many social events. Great bar with pool tables and a pool area with plenty of comfortable seating. This hostel really has it all, excited to come back in the future

Budds in surfers has a great atmosphere, very social so ideal for groups for solo travellers! They offer free surf and paddle board lessons which are so much fun! Also love the free bbqs, pizza and sunset and sangria night which they hold a few times a week. Also just had new plug sockets and lights allocated to each bed which is super handy. All round a fab hostel!

Honestly one of the best hostels I have stayed at in Australia/Europe. The stay at the hostel included breakfast, dinner on some nights, a pool, heaps of bathroom facilities, a bar and the opportunity to hire bikes for free, which is pretty rare of a hostel. The rooms were also comfortable and staff were very friendly and helpful. The hostel wasn't too far from a tram station too which was good. Overall, this hostel had a great vibe and I would definitely come back.

It was a great experience staying in Budds. They offer different activities everyday, the pool area is great and the free breakfast is very complete. The people is great and I won’t doubt it to come back again in my next stay in Gold Coast.

What an amazing place! Not only is the staff very kind and helpful, but also the hostel itself is wicked! There's a pool, beach is within walking distance, and they organize many activities such as yoga, surfing, parties, etcetera. I had the best time there and will happily go there again! The best hostel I’ve ever stayed in! Felt like home since I stepped in. Since everyone was so friendly, I felt like I could talk to anyone. The bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a hostel and are very nice as well. Location is perfect- in between two beaches!

Great hostel and facilities in a good location and clean, only thing is staff are never around for check in or out. I left my licence as the key deposit and when trying to leave in the morning no one was to be found and by 8:45am I had no choice but to leave. I have contacted them many times since about sending my licence to me but it has never arrived and and I never get a reply. Leaving this review is the last resort to getting my licence back.

Great hostel I keep expending my stay! Staff is friendly and relaxed. I am not trying to defend this place or attack people on there comments but I think that people who complain about the staff didn't really talked to them or maybe even to nobody. As long as you are up for some conversations this is the place to stay! Would recommend and I'LL BE BACK!

Most amazing place to stay!! Checked in last minute, and the staff were amazing, we came on a Tuesday and got to go down to the beach with everyone for free cheese and drinks, the vibes here are just amazing, everyone's so nice and Emily makes the best cocktails :) Will 100% return

Great vibes, friendly staff and a fun themed night with cheap alcohol and food to hang out with everyone. The rooms are not very good but they do clean and maintain them quite often. Facilities are cleaned multiple times a day which is very impressive for a backpacker hostel. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it for anyone looking for a fun vibe, just don't expect luxurious rooms.

THE WORST HOSTEL EXPERIENCE. Unfortunately I stayed for 3 miserable nights at this horrendous hostel. The reception seemed nice as well as the staff, but then I received my room - which isn’t suited for living. It’s dirty, very dirty, the lockers aren’t suited for anything as they are filled with rust and dust. You’re not given a blanket, only a sheet to cover yourself. Had I not brought a sleeping bag I wouldn’t be able to sleep at all, as lying on these bedsheets seemed as a mission impossible. But the cherry on top, was the working hours of the kitchen, the kitchen opens at 09:00 AM!!! Although the kitchen is already open at 07:20 AM, this is deceiving, as you think you don’t have access to breakfast, tea, your belongings that you keep in the kitchen until 09:00 AM, a very late time to open the kitchen. Not only you’re deprived from being able to eat and drink before 09:00 AM, but you’re also made to wait hours before you can actually start your day and leave this place for exploring. Very difficult to plan you day, when you don’t know when the workers will open the kitchen. And if that’s not enough, there’s no proper place to sit and eat, you need to sit outside, on shared benches. No actual tables and chairs. As if all that’s is not enough, there were A LOT OF FLIES in the kitchen area, that only shows how poorly maintained this place is, and how dirty this kitchen actually is. The faucets in the “bathroom” aren’t properly mounted to the sink, some of them move. And last but not least, the air-con is controlled by the staff, so make sure turn it on/off only while a manager is available, otherwise, no one will be able to help. If there were affordable options for the same nights, I would’ve booked them and checked out immoderately, unfortunately that wasn’t an option. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORROR OF A PLACE.

My favourite place to stay in Surfers Paradise! The staff are awesome and the hostel is right by everywhere you want to be! There's daily events that make me wish I was staying there longer to experience each night, but the best was the Friday night pub crawl where we all got to go party together as a big group!

Great vibes, easy to meet people, super clean! Great location near the beach. Ping-pong table and snooker available. Great pool area. A lot of activities organized by the hostel and the bar is really cheap. Go for it !

Budds has been my favourite hostel so far whilst travelling Australia. Great location just a few minutes walk to several beaches and an easy 10 minute walk into the town centre for shops, bars and restaurants. The hostel itself is everything you could want from a backpackers, clean, nice simple rooms, social and lots of fun! So many places to sit, eat and chat with new people, almost every day there are activities organised by the staff which are super fun and a great way to make friends. The hostel bar is cheaper than most places in surfers, and they have ping pong, a pool table, and several bbqs and party games every week. Staff are so friendly and welcoming, just good vibes all round, best place to stay in Gold Coast no doubt! Xx

Great place to stay some days, the bathrooms are clean, it's all mostly tidy and it's a good place to meet new people. The drawback is that the kitchen is quite small for all the people that can stay there. There's no space in the fridge for almost anyone, this is a big deal....

I stayed at Budds for two nights recently and absolutely loved the experience. I think the best part about this hostel is the fun atmosphere and the amazing staff. It had a very chill feel with plenty of social events each night. I felt so welcomed and included by the staff, they were genuinely friendly and helpful. To top it off, it’s in a great location to the beach and to downtown Surfers. Would definitely stay here again!!

Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed our stay here. Such chilled vibes, staff were really friendly and it’s a very sociable place. They had activities on at night and played games which made it easier to meet people especially if you’re travelling solo. The Hostel was really close to everything, had a cheap bar with happy hour, free ping pong. Facilities were clean, rooms are basic but didn’t bother us, as the room had air con which is all we need. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay in Budds. What makes it cozy is the staff, which is welcoming and fun. The kitchen is messy and not very clean, as well as the room. But the nature that surrounds the hostel, the activities offered and the common areas make up for that. Would definitely recommend it to young and social people.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay! The hostel, aside from its excellent location, boasts clean facilities and a fantastic atmosphere. The shared pool area is a huge bonus, and it's incredibly easy to connect with other travelers during their many social events. The staff is excellent; they are super friendly and cooperative. If they see you on your own, they will readily invite you to join in on whatever is happening.

This was definitely the best hostel I've stayed in so far. It was a very social hostel with events and activities on every day/ night. The evenings hosted by Liana every night were great, she was amazing in getting everyone together. The hostel was very clean with staff cleaning all the time, always smiling and sociable, i would really recommend this hostel and for be back!!

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed at!! I stayed at Budds for over a month and had such a hard time leaving. I created a great bond with the staff and other people at the hostel. This hostel is very clean and well taken care of. The bathrooms are nice and the beds are pretty comfy. If you ever come to the Gold Coast, you should definitely stay at Budds in surfers.

i had an amazing stay here, i even sacrificed a night in brisbane for it. super clean, tidy and was so much fun/social. the event on the thursday was so good, special mention to Liana for being so welcoming to me as a solo traveler. Her event was super original and so much fun to take part in. great place to stay.

I stayed at this hostel for 2 weeks and had an incredible experience! The staff is so friendly and take great care of the place. Frequent cleaning is done and they have different activities going on every night. They provide free breakfast and some free dinners, as well! Definitely recommend staying in this hostel.
