Today I had a not so positive experience in relation to two Pindara Hospital employees. I had initially telephoned the cardiac ward wondering if I was able to speak to a nurse regarding my mother's heart condition. The ward manager was rather abrupt and less than friendly in her communications with me and subsequently placed me on hold. While I was on hold I had lost connection, so rang the ward back and the same lady (ward manager) answered. I politely informed her that my call was cut off. I was met with the following response " You were not cut off! I put the phone down and placed you on hold!....". I then let the lady know that she did not need to speak with me in such an abrupt way. She did not reply and I was put onto the nurse unit manager of the cardiac ward and after I informed her of the way the ward manager had spoken to me earlier, she responded by saying the following... "I was standing right next to her and she spoke in an appropriate way". It is sad to think that people who are considered professionals who work in this environment seem to think it is acceptable to speak to a family member in such an abrasive way and when you voice your concerns with them about the manner in which you were spoken to you are completely disregarded by another and subsequently left feeling invalidated. 😞

Update, My surgeon is fantastic and very talented but Pindarra private and a lot of it's nursing staff are rude and uncaring. I've had to have many procedures here and extended stays and have only had one good experience. I have right now at 9:30am, just been asked to pack my things and I am to be picked up and out by 11am as my doctor said that I could go home today. (He did not specify what time I had to go home) Pindarra staff know I live in nsw and need time to organise my pick up as it is just over a hour travelling to get here and the same to get home. They really don't care. I have offered to pay the extra to be picked up after lunch but was told that I would have to wait in the lobby for my husband to pick me up. This is there "duty of care". If you can go somewhere else I highly recommend that you do. This is not the only incident or time I have been treated badly here by nurses. Hospital cleaning staff seem to care more about the patients at Pindarra hospital than the nurses do. I'm booked in for another procedure here in a week and a half and I am dreading it. If I could go elsewhere I would. The hospital is out of date and the menu has not changed in the 3 years I have had to come here for treatment. I am not vegetarian but I would only recommend the vegetarian meals. The photo's I have provided ( 1st pick is at one of Victoria's private hospitals. The 2nd pick is one of Pindarras better meals) this meal is one of the better meals served here at Pindarra, compared to my sisters meal in her Private hospital in Victoria, both of us were in hospital at the same time just different states. The 1 star is for my surgeon the cleaning staff and a handful of nurses that are pleasant and caring. I give 5 stars to the staff that treated me with care and companion but I don't have that option. So it's now 10:19am so I'd better pack my things and get out. I was also over charged $100 for "in hospital fees" and am now waiting for my refund. Why do I pay for this? Because I don't really have a choice. Updated again, 13/10/19. I'm back at pindarra and I didn't think it would get any worse 🤮 new photo, 3, is of Pindarra pork dish for lunch.

UPDATE: JUNE 2020 THIS SORE SHOULDER NOW REQUIRES SURGICAL REPAIR following 9 months of pain and subsequent tendon tearing and associated problems. Ironically, my surgeon uses Pindara. Was in Pindara for overnight observation following pain procedure. Within half an hour after being transferred from recovery I needed the toilet urgently. Had been told not to get out of bed by myself. Rang bell again and again. After waiting for over ten minutes no one came. I need a walker which had been left beyond reach. I had no choice but to get to the bottom of bed beside rails and reach for walker. I felt shoulder pull but was about to wet myself. As soon as I managed to get my walker then getting to the toilet I also rang that buzzer twice. Waite d. No response. Went to door and called for help from 3 nurses near desk. Ignored. Buzzer light and boards were lit up. No choice but to get back to bed by myself. When a nurse finally appeared she appeared irritated and rude as she had just started her shift. 2 other nurses then joined her. No apologies. Due to drugs and medical issues I required pull up incontinence pants. I suppose I could have wet myself and the bed. Got no answer when I asked them how that would make them feel. By this time it was around 30 minutes from first buzz. After 2 hours my shoulder pain was getting worse. Decided to tell nurse. Bell not answered. Walked to desk with walker as still groggy from drugs and anaesthetic. When I told nurse about shoulder pain she did not look at it or ask about it. Offered a rip open heat pack. Told me to go and lay down open it myself and stick it onto my nightie. No attempt to ensure I got to bed safely. My hands are weak from nerve damage and sore shoulder so had to use my teeth to tear open the pack. The nurse never offered to talk to my doctor or to get emergency doctor to check if my shoulder was OK. More than 24 hours went by and no other staff asked about my shoulder. I told my own doctor on the phone around 7.30am that I would not go home without seeing him in person due to several issues including my shoulder. Eventually around 8pm he appeared. My husband asked him 3 times to check my shoulder so he finally pressed it and said it was a ligament. I was discharged around 9 PM . My regular GP check was next morning. The moment I mentioned my shoulder she insisted on a scan and xray . Result was torn ligament and cortisone injection. Also intensive follow up now needed with physiotherapy at own expense not to mention additional pain drugs I have needed. We complained to the NUM and nursing coordinators and Sydney about the repeated mistakes in my allergy diet and general attitude of staff who appear careless and disinterested . The most serious thing was being discharged on 3 occasions without any proper information or medication lists. This is very dangerous when being sent home on multiple pain medications. These experiences have been met with placating chats but no effective response even though I have informed the hospital about my damaged shoulder due to their lack of care. It would have been wonderful to be able to leave a positive review about the profession I served all my life. The most decent and caring staffer was the Malaysian lady who cleaned my bathroom not the nurses. My one star is for her. The nurses are just not doing the job they are trained to do and are not being well supervised and supported. The Ombudsman paperwork with additional incidents is underway. Pindara systems are not working.

Poor communication among doctors and some staff, not concerned with sending elderly sick patients living at home with agressive cancer and having no home care, only concerned with filling their private hospital bed for dollars and unessassary multiple treatments, causing long term harm to patient and family's. No phone call from a social worker only a discharge planner who didn't realy listen to family concerns. We have our family member in the public hospital now and they are doing more for him with his health and decline and care than Pindara did.

My son went in for a dental procedure and everything was going good up until the moment when my son came back to the pediatrics ward from theatre. He was still dowsey and Nauseas from the Anesthesia, when the nurse said he must eat before he can be released which was fair enough... After 20mins when he was able to eat...A nurse named Jill came in to the ward with such a attitude, telling my son it's about time u ate, you kept your parents waiting long enough. Then she grabbed my sons had and started ripping his banshees hand in such a mean way out to hurt him, then she ripped the plaster holding down the catheter wrinkled it back and forth and hurt my son pulling the catheter backwards, my son started bleeding so much....Nurses like that shouldnt work with people, Jill is a terrible person dealing with a child like that just because he wouldn't eat when he just came out of theatre😡

My husband is in this hospital being treated on emergency basis for a wound infection. The in house doctor (not the ER doctor who was good )came in and could care less. He didn't know if wound had been swabbed and it was not in the notes. He thought the iv was 4 x per day but when husband asked, he read the chart and gave times and it was 3x per day. He peeled back the bandage and then just slapped it back on saying it looked better than yesterday and only said after my husband asked for a dressing change and a swab culture ... the doctor said "I'd be ok with that" as he walked off. For a "private hospital" this is ridiculous and would be ridiculous for any hospital not to order daily dressing changes on an infected wound. Seriously get with the program!

This is my husbands second stay in less then a week. I am writing this review from the car park where I have chosen to sleep in the car to be near him as he nearly died several times on Friday and I want to be close to him in the event of anything life threatening again. I spent 8 hours today waiting in a room for a surgery that took 2.5 hours. I asked if I could be with him while he waited to go in to surgery (2.5 hours) and was refused. I asked again if I could be with him post op and was again refused. We live 1.5 hours away and ended up here as the specialist had instilled such confidence in us and we really After over 8 hours of waiting to see him it was past visiting hours but they let me see him briefly before asking me to leave. The nurse explained that she would be breaching their policy and would get in trouble if she allowed me to stay beside him in the room. She said that relatives are often bad for patients who need to recover and that they would look after him. There is no way for a patient to get water without asking. I came prepared after our last overnight stay. I had water for my husband and food. The visitors area has no access to water and cannot access the device wifi as it is only for patients. I had hoped to distract myself by doing an assignment but reception was limited inside the hospital. Funny, my husband couldnt really make use of the wifi. I have had time to reflect and will now always check how compassionate hospitals are before choosing a private hospital. Sadly, one of the first questions we asked the specialist was alternate hospitals that he practices at. If you are old fashioned and see yourself as a patient, not a person. Or a relative, rather than a support person, Pindara Private is the place to stay. Communication will be non existent, you will have water or food when the staff are ready and if you want to stay close to your spouse, make sure you bring a pillow and blanket for your car.

This is the worst private hospital I have ever been to . I had spine surgery and from day one they took me of a heavy opioid I have been on for 2 yrs and I went in withdrawals not including surgery pain . They admitted that was wrong . Then rude staff not all but some . My surgeon who I won’t name is a arrogant person with no sympathy. Two days after surgery i woke with a massive bump on my head and no one can explain it to me , my doc makes jokes that’s when I asked him what happened that maybe another staff member did it the days jokes !!! He Doesn’t even see me to know what pain I am in yet cuts my meds in half . Now for the food . The food in this place is unacceptable it’s below below average. Goldcoast private to this is 20 star . I will never come back here ever ! If your looking for a private hospital this isn’t the best choice

Everything about this hospital is fantastic it's my pick for sure the staff are lovely they have great emergency department the wait times are not very long at all at anytime I've been. The Maternity ward is so nice they have deluxe suites for couples that have the king bed and big tv and room service and a lot of other things come with those suites and the other rooms still couples can sleep there as well you just don't get the added extras it's up to you what you choose when you go in for your tour. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff in Maternity they are the best, the other wards I've been to are nice also and staff are lovely and helpful also it's just obviously a different experience to the joy of a welcoming a baby , to being sick so as a whole I would recommend the hospital all its staff,Dr's and specialist any day of the week Cheers

My mother was in and out of Pindarra over a period of time and I found the service from both doctors and nurses to be absolutely disgusting! No communication with doctors, especially Dr Sid! No proper empathetic care from nursing staff! Medication was left on the floor and when bought to the attention of nursing staff swept under the carpet! No Webster packs prepared or home care organised for my mother when she left hospital with the pain not under control! She is dead now so thank you private hospital for nothing! When my mother couldn’t eat the nursing staff left egg in her mouth, it’s a wonder she didn’t choke! This hospital staff are a joke, especially the doctors and I hope the state are not funding such a pathetic private system when the public system is top of the range! Shame my mum had faith in such a private system that stinks to the core! Furthermore just to top it off the hospital never paid the excess to my dads private Heath provider resulting in we had to pay it twice because pindarra took 6 weeks to pay it resulting in more unnecessary complications! You are the most pathetic hospital! I will be taking this further !

Reception staff fantastic. But when your wife is booked in for a minor procedure at 10.20am and at 3.30 pm is still not out it becomes disappointing. I realise that Pindara is a business but when they obviously overbook their patients, profit seems to be the most important motive. If they had been more honest in their communication of expected timeframes I could have organised my business and allowed my customers to know I wouldn’t make it today.

My father was recently in Pindara & I have to say I was disappointed at the lack of communication. I got to spoke to his treating doctor once & that was only because I called. Found it difficult to get information as to his condition. Was told we would have help talking to him about having to go into aged care but had about 4 different people & got different information every time. To top it off both his hearing aids were lost & they were brand new. Asked the nurses but never found out what happened.

The meals were absolutely disgusting, even the fresh fruit, my mandarin was half rotten on the inside. The pre packaged biscuits were fresh and the tea/coffee was great when the water was hot. The staff were borderline abusive. Do NOT stay here!

Very poor. Was self funded was quoted just over 10,000 for 48hrs in their care was less that 24 hrs in care there after a very poor time management time for surgery and was not even refunded close to half. When the boss lady gave me a time print out all times were not correct.. I have proof of it all. And there was no comunication at all. Also very disappointed in the handling of the complaint I lodged. Pindara I wouldn't take my dog there. The o my thing going for you was the surgeon I seen who uses your facilities. Very poor

My experience in the Pindara Private Hospital was extremely delightful and the staff are wonderful and very caring and constantly asking if you need anything. I had an iron infusion and first time visiting this hospital and I was impressed. Free parking which is always a bonus to your day😊 Well maintained building very clean and modern interior..has a cafe on the ground floor.

Very impressed with all the A&E staff! My mother was transferred from an aged care facility after a fall sustaining a head laceration. Seen and treated promptly ( no ramping like lots of other hospitals) all staff friendly and caring. Please pass on our appreciation to all the staff involved in Mums care both in A&E and the ward she was transferred to. As an RN myself I can be a bit hard to please at times, if I think things could be done better. You should be very proud of the excellent care your staff are providing. Thank You

Not ideal, but I had a fall on New Year’s Eve. The ambulance asked if I had private health as to I responded yes. Arrived at Pindara, seemed okay at the start was looked at and sent for x-ray to have my wrist X-ray. Was confirmed that I have a broken ulna and radius and would need surgery within the next 2 weeks, the dr was going to temporarily put the bones back in place, pop on a back slab and I would be on my way. 2 hours later getting ready for discharge and I said, my elbow was sore, and it was visibly swollen. Sent back down to X-ray, and it was confirmed I had a smashed humerus. The dr advised that I then wasn’t going home at all and that I would require surgery the next day (New Years day) The receptionist then came and saw me and advised that with my private health cover I would have to pay 8-10k upfront and then be reimbursed once NIB confirmed it was an accident, because obviously I had snapped my arm on purpose. This was a hard time for me and not exactly acceptable in my opinion. Don’t come and ask a patient to be making decisions on their care after having a green whistle and many shots of morphine. I was glad that I had a friend with me to help me with this. I am so cranky at Pindara, I was firstly left wondering why I bother paying private health hospital when I had emergency cover. And fancy someone coming it with a snapped wrist and not checking the whole way up the limb?? This misdiagnosis left me having a back slab put on my wrist all the while having a smashed elbow. Not exactly the most pleasant experience. I realise that it was New Years Eve and obviously the staff wasn’t exactly interested in being there, I didn’t want to be there either. To top it off was also out of pocket $300 for the emergency room. I was then transferred by Ambulance to Gold Coast Uni Hospital and received the most amazing care, for example as soon as I got there was sent for a full MRI to confirm any other injuries. I will never go there again, also advising any friends or family to go there.

My mother in law was taken to this hospital and had the worst experience ever. She said that the nurses was rude and not caring at all. Nurses were not professional and talking bad about family members as well. She said she would not go back to this hospital ever and she received better service and care from the public hospitals such as Robina and Ge,hospital. And also said she couldn't walk and shouldn't come hom,e but when she came home she was fine and it seemed they wanted to keep her in longer unnecessarily. Who in there right mind would go and pay for such a horrible service.

I went here late at night with a broken hand. The doctor set my hand COMPLETELY wrong. The way could not be found in any book by my GP. As a result I need to have expensive surgery to correct it. Now about 15 years later I'm starting to get pains where a steel plate needed to be use to correct the butcher that first set my hand. Just because it's privet do not expect the doctors to actually have a clue what they are doing!

I can't comment on the appointment because I cancelled mine after waiting 20 minutes in the waiting room of gynaecologist, Dr C Mills. The receptionists were gossiping during the first five minutes which was unprofessional and made me feel awkward but whatever. But the doctor came out and started talking about someone's IVF plan to the two receptionists in front of me - granted, they were whispering but i could hear everything. The patient already in the doctor's room was left alone for 15 minutes while the doctor gossiped, and my appointment was delayed, completely unnecessarily. When i asked to cancel my appointment, they asked why. I said i didn't think they were professional to be discussing patients, and one receptionist responded 'that wasn't a patient'. I'm not sure that is relevant - they were discussing highly personal and confidential details of someone who hadn't given them permission to discuss it. I was expecting for a professional, confidential appointment, but with a condition i'm scared about and questions the team might think are stupid/funny, i have absolutely no confidence in the specialist's ability to look after me.

We went to emergency tonight because my 3 year old boy had bad ulcer and asthma at night during his sleep. They want him to do PCR test, but I told them that he don’t have any Covid symptoms. They Still send my 3 years old kid to isolate room, and RIGHT NEXT to covid positive person NO MASK!!!!! After one hour told me we are free to go home because the some of test results will come few hour later and some will come tomorrow. I went there to look for HELP to reduce the pain from my kid, NO ONLY PCR TEST and told me free to go home wait for results! He is only 3 Why force him stay next POSITIVE people ?Worst experience never had!

I couldn’t be more thankful for every single person who assisted me when I went through the A and E department on Saturday 10/06/23. I waited 3 min before I was seen by a nurse and then 2min from there I was taken straight through and put in a comfortable bed with a tv and everything I needed right beside me! My partner was able to park right out the front and walked straight through the department to me. Nurses were with me always and the Dr would check on me very regularly! Bloods and samples were all done within the 10min I walked through the door. I will never go back to any other hospital ever again, Pindara is definitely the only one I will go to. 10000X thankful for all their services. Kindest regards, Eilish

I was released from the cardiac ward yesterday, and I have to say that everyone, nurses, cleaning staff, etc, were all absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and if I ever have a stroke again (I really hope I don't), I will demand to go there. Special mentions to nurses Jake, Leanne, and Sandaya (who did wonders for an unexpected panic attack), and others whose names I can't remember. Thank you, all. ❤️

I was taken to A&E via Ambulance on Friday 11th February, late afternoon. I was given a bed in a cubicle with very little wait time. Nurses were lovely and Dr Robert Bush attended to me and was very fast acting in ordering a CT and coming back with my results. Letting me know the outcome wasn't great as I had a perforated bowel. Let me know that I may or not need to go to surgery tonight. The next time he checked of me the pain had spread further into my abdomen and he quickly informed me I would need to go to surgery and everything was organised very promptly. Thanks Dr Robert Bush for taking fantastic care of me in this situation or the outcome may have been completely different. Deanne Williams

I don't trust this hospital, I will never use them again nor will my friends and so forth. My son had surgery Tuesday, last night he needed emergency care due to the surgery. The extremely rude Receptionist demanded I pay for the emergency fee, before she even ask why my 2 year old infant was there. When I explained he was in your care yesterday for private surgery, she said " that don't matter you still need to pay". There was no comfort is her language at all, she gave off a personal hate attitude. After paying for private hospital fees then needing post op emergency care a day after you request more fees? Gold Coast private hospital allows 7 days post op for any after care. Your a disgrace to turn away and demand more $$ from a sick child that was in your care 24hrs prior to this. I'm glad I walked out and drove to Gold coast hospital where we were greeted with comfort and care.

I had a day surgery today and from the moment I walked through the door I was greeted with smiled and assistance for my needs. Day receptionists were lovely, nurse who did admission paperwork was lovely as was the nurse who had my groovy attire ready. Surgery went well and I wasn't treated like a number but a real person. Recovery area fantastic as we're the nursing staff looking after me in the 'departure area' 😀😃

I had to attend the ED on Saturday via ambulance, I was extremely distressed and in a horrific way, well these nurses and doctors and everyone else involved was incredibly amazing! I can not be more happy with the way I was treated and respected. From the moment I arrived in the ambulance, no waiting in a holding pen for 5 hours , I was taken straight into a bed with doctors and nurses waiting eagerly to assist. I don’t have private health but can I say $250 was All I paid to be treated immediately, efficiently, professionally and my health issue solved within hours! Round of applause Ramsey Health, Pindara hospital you rock! Thank you 🙏

From coming through the emergency department to the discharge 5 days later, this is the place to be if sick. Thank you to the emergency doctor who was so quick and responsive to my situation and to the caring staff in emergency who got me through a traumatic few hours before being admitted to the wards. The sincere care, support and friendliness of every single staff member was second to none. The cleaners, meal takers, doctors and nurses - everyone was superb. Special mention to a wonderful (clearly caring doctor) doctor. Dr. Ellison - thank you for caring for me and the support you gave along the way. Your compassion is genuine and appreciated. To Jo and Tamika (nurses), wow what can I say? You two were amazing. We had fun, we laughed and you really cared about patient outcomes (something that can be so un-genuine and robotic). You made my time in hospital better than it should be. Thank you for treating me like a human and thank you for caring as much as you did. I feel that patients in your care in the future will be in the best hands possible. Thank you Pindara for making everything from A to Z a positive experience for someone who was really suffering.

My dad recently spent over 8 weeks at Pindara in ICU and the care he received was amazing. All of the nurses - led by the wonderful NUM Jo - showed such care and compassion! It was initially a challenging time for us as family, and we felt so wonderfully cared for too. The ward and physio teams were also amazing and helpful. It's not the kind of place you want or plan to be in, but we couldn't have gotten though this without the support of this wonderful group of people. The ICU team quite literally saved my dad's life and we can never thank them enough!

Great multilevel free covered parking with easy lift access. Impressive vegan meals for patients. Large rooms with good facilities and views. Pleasant staff. Just be aware that it can be very hard to find your way until you get used to the maze of different corridors.

I am writing regarding an incident at Pindara on Friday 21st April. I was visiting my son. He is non-verbal and has special needs. He was so happy to see me and my partner when we arrived. Our visit was lovely with lots of cuddles, smiles and happiness. Around 15 minutes into our visit, the Assistant Director came in flanked by another nurse (I presume) and two security staff. They asked us to gather our belongings and "chat outside". She said to me, "You can't visit your son, and you can't come back until you have the evidence in writing that you can visit him". She then had her security staff escort us out. Her treatment of me was abhorrent and I feel I have been violated. I did nothing to deserve what that woman imposed on me. Oh, that's right, I visited my son in hospital. She should know how precious it is for a patient to have loved ones around when they're in hospital. Is she not a care provider? Yet she ripped that away from her patient and treated me like a low-life saying, "bring me evidence that you're allowed to visit your son". My treatment was unacceptable. I would like an apology from her and her superior. Virna.

I’ve had 2 week-long stays at Pindara over the past couple of months and the nurses on the Neuro ward 3E are nothing short of amazing. Their care and genuine empathy was nothing I’ve experienced before. Special call outs to Renee, Mikaela, Maree, Herryla, Lisa, Emily and Ali. Also PTs Paul, Charmaine & Nick. South Coast Radiology nurse Nicole and Dr May. And not to forget Tracey, Stephanie and Bec on ward 4E. I hope management read my review. It’s staff members like these that make a real difference in a patient’s recovery.

An absolutely exceptional hospital. I have been here a week so far, in three different wards and I cannot fault PPH. The staff have been incredible. As a smaller hospital the staff all seem to know each other and there is a level of camaraderie. Staff are compassionate and happy. And I think that speaks volumes about the hospital as a whole. The food has been great as are the staff who deliver and take your order. A dietician is available to come and discuss any issues and they are very accommodating. Unfortunately I have spent quite a bit of time in hospitals all over Australia and I would have to say the level of care I have received here is unmatched. There is also an emergency, out patient diagnostic facilities, day procedure centre and specialist rooms which makes this an all rounder. I don't wish anyone to have to go to hospital, but if you do, this is a good one.

This is a horrible hospital! Turned up to an elective admission and couldn’t get my credit card to work to pay the excess so ‘no excess no op’ . Tried to get on the Internet to transfer money onto my savings account in the waiting room and was told to ‘go outside’ by the reception staff. This is BS!

Recently stayed at the Pindara Maternity ward. Cannot fault the midwives/nurses. They gave us great advice on how to look after a newborn and were always caring. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was awesome, better then most restaurants on the coast. Keep up the great work.

This is my wife worst experience being at Pindara Private Hospital as being treated no different than being at public hospital. Yesterday she had a day procedure and was transferred to recovery room where one of the nurse, David was very arrogant. He just ignored her being there, he didn’t ask her if she would like to eat or drink until she called the hospital reception for help from other nurses. Another Nurse came along to assist her till she was transferred to the ward for overnight due to her pain. The nurses at the ward was not very friendly & didn’t care more or less just came to do check blood pressure & temperature every few hours.

I attended the hospital Friday evening and was seen by the Triage nurse within 15 minutes of arrival! I was then moved to the ED and prepped for an ECG, Bloods etc Shortly there after I was seen by Dr James Young Jamieson who was extremely thorough, knowledgeable AND listened to my concerns and diagnosed my issue whilst also putting my mind at ease. The entire team in the ED were warm, friendly and caring. I cannot recommend Pindara highly enough

Hospital is ok but has so much room for improvement. Carpark is an absolute embarrassment. Has to be full time staffed just to drive in and out- never seen anything like it in my life. What a horrendous design. Carpark Nazi’s don’t let you park on the first levels making carpark congestion worse. Always empty but never available for parking.

I came in for severe pain in my gut especially left side. Previously had bowel surgery and hernia surgery. Doctor says it’s my left kidney that’s causing the problem. Sent me to Urologist specialists 7 days it took to get appointment so in the mean time I’m in serious pain for 7 days. The Urologist says wrong diagnosis and it’s my bowel or hernia not the kidney. Called up the me emergency department and advised them wrong diagnosis and I’d have to come back into emergency and they said I’ll have to pay again as today is now the 8 day, terrible service, spent so much on emergency fees and specialist fees and still have extreme pain my stomach and back to square one. Private health is a joke, no wonder public system is under pressure. So hard to get treatment if you’re in a health fund !

Only can only give a 3 because the excellent care that my partner received on the ward, was undermined by the rude and abupt lady who answered the phone when I called, to check on the progress of my partners surgery. I was transferred to the ward, but no one answered the phone. I had to wait for my partner to contact me after she was out of surgery. I received better communication from the animal emergency hospital, than I did from Pindara. A simple call to a person's loved one, it not much to ask when they are waiting.

Dr Dunn working at Pindara Hospital I am forever grateful for. Would also like to comment on the amazing nurses that were on the gynae ward, they were amazingly supportive and very attentive and helpful. In particular a big thank you to Nurse Holly working in 3F Department when I stayed over night after a procedure, answered questions pre-op and was very supportive and welcoming post op on the ward as well.

My experience with pindara hospital is it was like a public hospital(so so so busy and full) but you get a private room-Only went here because my specialist for my lifelong condition works there! Had major surgery and told the Anaesthetist I’ve used endones in past surgeries and I’m ok with that if necessary and she said oh you will be needing pain relief and there are a lot of different ones- so after surgery I was given “a slow release” tablet I trusted that it would be what I was expecting- then I got very ill vomiting my guts up- never happened after previous surgeries for the same thing- found out it was called palexia (must be the new pushed drug for $$) and I heard it been given to a few other patients after me, I felt so hot and couldn’t cool down I got a face washer with water and ice chips to try and feel better but it took hours and hours to wear off. The night nurse was stand off ish to me and made me feel uncomfortable and like an annoyance to her, and it took so long for anyone to come once I pressed the button- made me feel alone and isolated. The food was inedible- bones all through the fish and the mash was like a rock, bread roll stank, when you see how much they are making for one nights stay it is ridiculous. Having to keep asking for them to do the things that should already be done is shameful too- I feel sorry for the elderly or non verbal patients. Everything was too much for them, severely understaffed and I was thinking that maybe when the public hospitals are full maybe they send them here, after reading another review I found that to be true! So while I had to pay $500 excess and monthly private health and for all my surgeries that public patients are then coming for free and making the staff shortage even worse!! The bin in my room was overflowing still when I discharged (had my two vomit bags from previous night in it, sandwich scraps and my catheter- gross! The breakfast didn’t come until almost 830am and the person who brought it in didn’t even acknowledge my thank you, disappointing experience, morning nurse was much kinder but I only met her for a short while before I was booted out-less than 24 hours after surgery. Cost cutting on everything they make you swallow tablets when you have the cannula in… recently my son and husband went to Gold Coast private which was so much better than here staff, food and the new building.

Don’t risk it. There are plenty of other, better facilities on the Gold Coast. My mothers quality of life has been severely impacted since her stay here. No care, no compassion.

The 2 stars are for the staff, all lovely. Zero stars for the food basically disgusting. Fruit salad and bread roll is only 2 things to eat. For a private hospital, shame on you Ramsey Health. Unfortunately my friend has been admitted 6 times this year with infection to his wound and has spent thousands of dollars being admitted, this last time being hounded for the gap payment while in his bed filled with painkillers. Finding it hard to transfer founds while drugged up. They call the mobile number listed as next of kin chasing for the money. So disgusted I can’t speak The hospital actually smells of stale air putting up paintings on the walls does not hide the fact it is run down and depressing for the patients

Yesterday I had an EP study and ablation performed by Dr Hunt. End to end, everybody that I encountered was amazing. Barb, Tayla, Sue, Sarah, Luke, and the team at the infusion clinic were all so lovely. Luke and the nurses definitely made a long day at hospital a breeze. Dr Hunt is also a fantastic Cardiologist whom I highly recommend.

I attended the hospital late evening on a Friday night. Admission was efficient and friendly. After triage by a nurse, I was shown to a ED room where 2 nurses prepped me for ECG, bloods etc. Very soon a doctor arrived who was very thorough. Following his recommendations, I was admitted for the night for observation. Room was readied with TV running. The ward was quiet enough to sleep and nurses monitored me every few hours until a good breakfast was brought at 0630. Staff all pleasant and professional. Consulting specialist arrived promptly the next morning. Everything running on rails during my stay of 12 hours. Recommend private hospital for the Gold Coast area.

Unbelievably rude stuff, I have never been treated and serviced so poorly before… The receptionist asked to pay twice for the service which made no sense whatsover.. she failed to give me a copy of a receipt and said they will email it. It’s a week later and it’s a nightmare to get the copy. No one answers for the emails and calls are being put on hold and then canceled. Do not recommend this hospital.

My 5 year old son had dental surgery at Pindara Hospital. We found admission so easy with the friendly staff and were lead everywhere we needed to go. There was no getting lost and all staff were so caring and informative. The room and facilities were clean with all the warm comforts of home. We were made to feel very welcome and that nothing was to much trouble.

Just spent 3 days at Pindara Private Hospital. I couldn’t fault them, from the surgeon Michael Flynn to the nurses in Ward 2E I thank you for looking after me. Nothing was a problem & they went above & beyond. I was looked after extremely well and the nurses were so friendly, accommodating and always had a smile & stopped for a chat. Even the food was delivered with a smile. Thank you Pindara you definitely exceeded my expectations on all levels. I contribute my speedy recovery due to being looked after very well. You all do a remarkable job and do Pindara proud.

I’ve been at Pindara private hospital to deliver my first child with elective cesarean section. I had such great experience there. All the nurses and midwives in the maternity department are very helpful and supportive and they do whatever they can to help you in all baby stuff. Before being there, I was so worried about breast feeding my baby and fortunately with all staff’s kindly support it passed smoothly and without any problem for me. The best thing is that my husband and my mom and sister could stay there with for the whole 5 days.My baby girl is now almost 6 months and I felt I owed all the staff a 5star review. A big well done to all of you and I will never forget my awesome experience there.

Went in for surgery and had to stay 6 nights. Staff were great from pre admission all the way through to discharge. They were mostly responsive when called upon and seemed interested in how I was progressing and what they may continue to do to help me recover. Shout out to all the nurses and doctors on ward 4E who made my stay comfortable. Food was okay - The first few meals I had were great, but by the end the week the portions seemed smaller and food was a little dry. Rooms were great, had access to everything I needed during my stay. TV channel selection could have been better then 5 or so cable channels available, but I guess that’s what phones and books are for. I Was allowed visitors etc. with no issues. If I require any future surgery, I’d happily go through Pindara again if my surgeon operates there.

I had to have a 'top and bottom' as it's commonly called. I was so impressed by the friendly and respectful staff at the reception and the nurses. The pre-op staff were outstanding and contact and surgery details were quadruple-checked! Excellent! The surgeon and I had a brief pre-op chat which was truly appreciated. Two minor details which is why I did not give a 5-star rating. 1) As we came out of the door from parking the car, we were met by an array of buildings that did not have sufficient signage. I had to go in and out of two buildings and then stop medical staff to ask where to go to find the PP hospital reception which was up some stairs, across a walking bridge and then a double-back (stopped another staff member to find that). 2) The pre-op tiny waiting room became almost full at one stage with six of us waiting in an 8-chair waiting room; armchairs side by side with no social distancing observed. Even in normal times, I would have felt claustrophobic. Despite those two things, the more important aspects were addressed and I want to thank you.

This is a huge thankyou to the treating team of WARD 2E at Pindara, I would like to expressly thank the following nurses Theatre Nurse Sue (Lady who is American). Nurse Manager Jacqui of Ward 2E, In particular special thanks goes to Nurse Carol, who nursed me in my worst moments post surgery with my underlying medical condition. From feeding me, to nursing me through my extended stay, nothing was a trouble and her passion and concern for her patients is exemplary.. I'd also like to thank Nurse Emma and Alicia and Kelly (South African lady) for their care. I'd like to thank the whole nursing team for allowing my husband to sleep in the same room, they set up a little bed for him and everything and were just so sweet to him. So I wouldn't have to worry about him travelling home at night . As we travelled an hour each way, so I'm truly grateful and his mind at ease with my high care needs. We are truly grateful to all the nurses, admin team, and food services team at Pindara. The care they showed for me was above and beyond and we are truly grateful 5 stars.

For private hospital emergency department where we pay for our visit the service was so horrible. My 9 yo child was taken off the bed and taken to isolation room by the doctor order because he was not vaccinated and they took a covid test where simptoms had nothing to do with the covid simptoms. The treatment was horrible, and stuff rude. I thougth this happens only at public hospitals but no, now it's in private too. Opposite experience from our 2 year ago visit. Won't come back.
