I have the best time in this backpacker. Is a really organised and happy place to spend the summer! I give all the credits for Josh. One of the hotel manager because of his persistent effort to keep the hostel alive and fui lol of love and Succes with everyone’s experience in Australia’s journey. Very very old and dirty hostel. (not like the photos) The room was messy of clothes. The sink is full of cosmetics and junk for long-term guests. The shower room didn't seem to have been cleaned for weeks, and when I took a shower, the water didn't drain down, so it started to fill up, which offended me very much. I stayed only one night, but it was the worst of the numerous hostels I stayed. No matter how many long-term stayers stay, shouldn't the hostel be ordered and cleaned to keep the public space clean? I stayed here last week and again today and it will be the last time. Last week the aircon wasn’t working so the room was boiling and the bathroom was constantly flooded. This time, I arrived in the time for check in and no one was here. Then it wasn’t open this morning for the breakfast. Maybe pay some staff and there will be better service coz whatever you’re doing right now isn’t working…

A depressive place. The bathroom is inside the shared dorm and so dirty. There are no more options of bathroom outside. Every time that i used the shower there were cockroaches and fungi. So you have use that one. The common areas are so poor. Something good is that the staff is friendly and you have access to a secured locker.

Best hostel I have ever stayed at!! Everyone at the hostel was extremely friendly. The fact it was a small hostel made it very easy to meet people and make friends. Can't beat the location. The hostel was a stone's throw away from the beach and short walk to the center of surfers.

Location, Staff and vibe was awesome. Close to the beach, nice people and affordable. The beds are new with curtains and own bathroom in each room. Good place to explore the gold coast, right next to the tram. Definitely going to come back again.

Great hostel, very short walk to the beach and right next to tram stop. I stayed in the privet double room for a few nights. Really happy with the room, it's was clean plenty of space and had a comfy bed. Staff are all really friendly, good size kitchen and a bonus pool! Would book again 😊

In the Year 1986 the Name was " Surf & Sun, Backpackers",managed by a New Zealand Couple. I had a great Time there. Australia was great Mate !

Couldn't give it any lower rating ,I booked private room with them for Christmas through booking.com many months before Christmas , couple of weeks before Christmas they cancelled my booking and done refund claiming that the room is flooded because of plumbing problem ,They tried to cancel booking a day before that claiming that they couldn't verify my cards but when I paid by PayPal promptly they sent a message about the plumbing problem

I wrote a review on MY experience at this hostel and got sent emails stating i would be taken to court for slander. What is the point of a review then? Management thinks they can bully me because they think i dont know my way around the law or my rights. I have been made to feel unworthy and unsafe. They threatened to have me blocked in all the hostels because someone complained i did something i didnt, no investigation was done because it was in the room, i was told the other person's word meant more than mine even though there were no cameras. I didnt resist, i left and asked for my refund then got sent the threatening emails. You just need to read their responses to other people's complaints to see what kind of an establishment this is. Stop using your management connections to spoil people's experiences in Australia. Am disgusted and regretful to having stayed at Aussie Dream.

I had the private room, and my experience was fantastic. The hostel staff were very friendly, especially Josh who was super helpful and helped me arrange an extended stay, and answered many questions over my stay there. The room itself was perfect, had a little bathroom attached, comfortable bed, good amount of space. The kitchen downstairs was also roomy to allow many guests to use the facilities. Just before i left, the hostel also added a little fridge to my room, which is useful. I also spent a night in one of the (4 bed) dorms, and the quality there was also great, with dividing curtains for the bunk beds, and solid structures (incl. ladder), which don't move and creak as you shift around. So, really impressed, compared to other dorms I've stayed in. Lastly, the location is perfect, right across from the beach, some exercise equipment, and a short walk into the busy area of Surfers Paradise, where the bars and shopping are. There's also a good convenience store nearby, and a good cafe (Rhapsody cafe, around the corner). Highly recommend this hostel.

My first time staying in a dorm with others and this place is clean, the people are friendly. So if it's your first time like mine don't stress, would certainly stay here again.

The common areas were well kept, the kitchen was big, the pool didn’t look the cleanest, the room was very old and not well kept at all. The floor in our private room didn’t seem to be vacuumed for awhile and the bare minimum was wiped down. If you have to stay in Surfers I would pay a little extra money and go to the more expensive one down the road. The staff were nice enough to let us store our bags for the entire day after we checked out which we really appreciated.

I travel a lot and i can say that this is the best hostel i ever stay.. The staff is amazing, the location is perfect, 1 minute walk by the beach.. In the morning you get free breakfast and the outside pool is perfect place to chill, i been there for a while and i did not want to leave.. Every morning your room get clean and not many hostel do that, so i truly reccomend to everyone travel to gold coast...

Every week there is very innovative events everyday to really bring the hostel together. With also being a minute away from the beach you can catch your morning surf with ease and only a short walk from the centre of surfers.

This is the best hostel in entire Surfers. I have been here twice already and every time I had great time here. Stuff is very friendly and they not let you get bored here. Every day is something on. Kitchen is big so you don’t have to be worry that you will have to wait for cook your dinner like in other hostels around here. Swimming pool is super clean which makes you feel like you don’t want go at the beach and you rather stay here and chill with good vibes around.🍸🍸
