    Worst customer service experience ever who just couldn't answer simple questions and the best they do is put you on hold( with an excuse to find answers for your query)and then disconnect the phone line(as a customer service agent did) where you've been waiting for a long time to get through to an customer service agent and when you ring them again and wait in the queue and eventually get connected to a different agent he lies to you that he will get the original agent to call you back after lunch.its a scam of double pricing for exact similar risks they are running hoping renewal customers just will not bother looking into and just pay up and oh if you are an early bird customer they give you a 5% discount as a sweetener to pull wool over your eyes.i'll bring my business to a different insurer who have consistently quoted the exact same price( a little more compared to aig)from the start and offers better terms and RESPECTS there customers.

    Avoid. Honestly Aig was fine until I had one simple question about my policy. You can't talk to an actual person on the phone and when you eventually do get through to claims the call times out and hangs up. I wrote to the complaints section and literally nothing was done. God forbid you're actually in an accident and need help. Wouldn't recommend AIG atall, have told friends and family to also avoid them.

    Terrible customer service. Only two people working in the claims department. 1 hour wait every time. Never will call you back. Drag everying out as long as possible in the hope that policy holders will give up. Even for the low bar that is insurance companies aig are terrible. Avoid like the plague...

    Shocking claims department service They might have the cheapest quotes for car insurance but their claims process is very long with unhelpful claims handlers, who are either very bad at the job or are deliberately making mistakes. i was involved in a small incident where the other party (who was also with AIG) was at fault. He actually admitted liability to AIG themselves when reporting the incident. However, the two AIG claim handlers tried to make me agree to a 50/50 liablity, meaning both me and the other driver would have higher premiums for years to come. I stood my ground and 2 MONTHS LATER, after unanswered emails, i finally got confirmation that the other driver was 100% at fault. HAPPY DAYS I THOUGHT, but not a bit.... My car is now going in for repair and i am entitled to a rental car. However, the claim handler first of all ignores my emails when i confirm my repair date, and my request to book a rental car. Then after me phoning the complaints department, they managed to confirm that a booking had been made and i was given a reference number and a promise the rental company would contact me. HOWEVER once again, no contact from the rental company, and after follow up calls to them i have discovered NO BOOKING HAS BEEN MADE. I will now be unable to get to work when the car goes in for repair. 3 months later and still the process continues.. The first claim i have ever made in 35 years of driving and the last time i will ever use AIG. My advice to anyone happy with the low quote they give is to think of the bigger picture and AVOID

    I have never seen a company charging money to email the documents of my own policy. They said that they have already emailed me once and can't email for free again. However, I didn't receive any email from them. I checked everywhere, inbox, spam, bin, etc. Moreover, if it goes to spam, it gets deleted automatically after some days so how can one know? I seriously despise such companies charging their customers this way. I would never go for an insurance policy with AIG in the future even if they give me the best quote. They have a lost a customer forever. Update: Seeing this review, AIG decided to refund the 25 euros they charged for the NCB cert. So, I am updating the review from one star to three.

    They are a good company when it comes to online services and they are easy to contact, so was a customer with them for years. However they recently wanted 560 Euro to renew a car insurance policy, this was an increase of 40 Euro on last years amount. My 10 years + no claims bonus was still in place so I went online and got a renewal quote from a different company with exact same terms and conditions for 380 Euro. When I queried this with AIG they had no explanation as to why they are penalising customer loyalty by increasing premiums (the exact opposite of how every other industry operates). I explained I would now be moving all my insurance policies away from AIG to a different operator. Talking to them directly will make no difference as they rely on customer complacency to generate profits, so posting here instead.

    Already a customer with another policy , looking to take out another policy, it took aig 4 days more than the competition to come back with a quote (no better) to offer me more hurdles and barriers. Very poor research on their behalf considering I have a policy already with them . Cannot recommend which is disappointing as I thought they led the market . I certainly didn’t feel like a valued customer.

    Appalling claims department. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the performance of AIG's claims department. I have received minimal engagement form our claims handler who having promised the extension of a car rental service has not responded to any of my calls and emails for nearly two weeks. Three weeks post-accident we have not received any update in relation to our claim despite numerous requests to update us and to deal with the car rental issue. AIG have made statements about "putting claims first" and providing "constant communication and partnership" but this is simply not the case.

DON'T CARE WHAT TIME IT IS THEY STILL BOMBARD U WITH MESSAGES FM NO NUMBER, MEANING U CANNOT BLOCK THEM, HAVE HAD ENOUGH! WOULD PAY DOUBLE INSURANCE 2 BE LEFT ALONE!!! TANTAMOUNT TO HARRASSEMENT!!!     Very happy with the service I received from AIG, this was my second policy I have taken out with them. There website is very easy to navigate. My home insurance policy was very competitive when compared to other insurance companies with a higher level of cover. Would highly recommend them for a quote.

    SWITCH TO AXA,, SWITCH TO AXA,,SWITCH TO AXA,,Shop around guys youl be very surprised no favous on renewal,,Very disspointed with aig,, my son recently upgraded his car, not much difference, same engine 1.5 petrol not turbo,,, and similar horse power,,, he with aig now fr his first year, 2 months prior to renewal he changed over to his new car,, there was a 46 euro charge,, of course there was I wouldn't have it any other way,,, any way he paid it,, now a month later and his renewal comes out for more that last year, because as James mentioned its a higher category vehicle,, what a load of (----e) and get this he has one year driving experience,, ye I know right,,,, any way I have lodged a complaint via email and was advised they have 40 days to reply,, I am also seeking legal advice,,, my opinion shop around guys as we are, he went with axa but unfortunately because they only have a set date for payment 1st of every month did not suit, so unfortunately and I mean unfortunately he had to stick with aig,,, but maybe next year when he passed his test and 2 years no claims he can jump ship👍 Stay clear from these guys, absolutely don't know what there doing,had endless arguments with Sean in complaints last year over my sons insurance going up and down up and down and all different quotes,,,the quotes are pulled from the cloud ye that will do,,any ways we eventually agreed to stick with them as it will go down next year,now just bear in mind he driving 2 years now,no claims no nothing and he even jumped onto a ford focus 1.4 yes that's right a ford focus 1.4,,,and his quote was nearly 1900 euro,,,so I rang them and guess what,,yes you said it,,,there's nothing we can do omg give me strength,,,any way guys and all my 23 K followers,,one call to AXA insurance and they'll do 1250 euro,,now they don't even know my son never had him on there system before,,same details no difference,,and 1250,,,switch guys and switch fast,,you won't regret it,,,,

    Aig team. Did not realise you had such bad reviews. The people you have in the claims dep are very unprofessional Last person left me hanging on until my phone switched me off. Can give names. But it won’t do any good. You just seem to have the same response on all your emails.

    Genuinely the worst company I’ve had to deal with. I can’t get through to anyone on the phone and it’s impossible to get a response by email. I don’t know why I’ve been paying for insurance with the them last 7 years because the service is non existent. Avoid at all costs

    All the legal mobojumbo that has to be verbally said over the phone is ridiculous! Already visually seen when sent renewal form. Up goes the phone bill. On the whole AIG have been excellent when it comes to claims and forking up the money.

    Awful to deal with - have been with AIG for 10 years and due to a picture of a license being sent in late policy went from 400 to 1400. Over and back and no resolution. Would not recommend. Told on the phone that I would have to inform the company of the cancelled policy in future so they could adjust the amount Id have to pay. Never had a claim either just to add to the farce.

    Absolutely rubbish. Low balled cost of car , claimed not to have gotten log book even though sent by registered post and documented that they received it. Repeated refuse to settle claim as they cant find the log book. 2 weeks since they got it still no resolution. Avoid this company!! Would give a zero if I could.

    Getting through to ‘Its4 women’ was a nightmare 😤 talking to bots is extremely frustrating, finally I was given a number to call AIG Claims I spoke to Iliyana Angelova and she was a pleasure to deal with - and human (thank god) her customer service was on point. Simplified the whole procedure and assisted me on certain outcomes. Thanks a million.
