I went to Fiji for the first time and stayed at Tanoe in Lautoka the best. So i had to go Suva for a few days so i book at Yue Lai for 3 days. When we enter we had to wait for 30 minutes until someone come to help us. Finally we went to our room to drop our bags as we had to go for an appointment. Upon coming back i told my husband that i am going to lay down for a bit as i was really tired. When i go to lay down on the bed it was hard like a cement ground. I went to ask to be change as the bed is too hard. The front desk staff told me that is how all the rooms are. I was very disappointed. I ask to cancel my booking and they say ok. So i went to my room to get my stuff, before leaving one of the staff came with a one feet sponge so i can put it on the ground to sleep. I ask the guy if he was serious. I came from Toronto and they want me to sleep on the ground of a hotel room. SO we check out got some of our money back as they say that our stuff was there for a few hours. Also the elevator say 13 person but the guy say only 4 people max . I got scared and a bd feeling at that time. So we went to another hotel. They only cater for asian community as they like those bed. Hope no one have to go through that. Sorry i was not happy with them.

Terrible service and unpleasant experience. We booked two rooms for seven people and were told we had to pay an extra $50 per person for just two additional guests—something we’ve never experienced at any other hotel. Each bed had only one pillow, and there were just two towels per room, which is well below any standard. The “complimentary breakfast” came with only two vouchers per room, so most of our group had to pay extra for overpriced food that took 30 minutes to arrive. On top of that, their website falsely advertises a pool that doesn’t even exist. Overall, not worth the money. Either stay somewhere cheaper or spend a bit more for a hotel that actually delivers decent service. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Note:only ate here, did not stay in the rooms. Had yumcha on Sunday morning. Our party got very ill (food poisoning ill) by Tuesday. Will not be eating here again. Giving an extra star for the decor, which was nicely done.

Yue Lai Hotel is underrated. It is a great place for functions at competitive and affordable rates. I have personally held events there and the private dining rooms are well maintained and serviced. Friendly staff.
