Biggest open market in local style and wide variety of veggies, fruits, fish and prawn are available. In the downtown area and easy accessibility to nearby shopping centers. Local snacks are also available on outer lane surrounding the market. Better have a try here for greater choices at reasonable local prices

Great to experience the locals in this big market. Grab yourself a slice of pineapple ($1) as you enter and just wounder around. Make sure you interact with them, I got some great conversations and lots of smiles and laughs. Fijian people are just so friendly. There is more to this market than just fruit and veg. Head towards the back of the market and there is some amazing gifts.

Lovely produce. Be mindful of belongings as sometimes suspicious people may follow you and ask for money. Not enough security.

Very busy and full of varieties of vegetables fruits rootcrops seafood meat handi crafts and other exotic food items Cafes takeaways and restaurants. Same as Farmers market in the States the Suva Municipal Market has undergone various changes in the last 50yrs and is a 2 story building. Market and meeting places for all Fijians of different ethnicities this national treasure is situated in the heart of the city and is surrounded with car parks and the famous Suva Bus Station and taxi stand. Not the cleanest but you should expect that from Farmers market with similar sizes. Extremely busy on weekends but closed on Sundays except for outside vendors. Opening hours from 8 to 5pm Monday to Saturday. But you can always catch vendors available late into the night around the outside. Cooked root crops is available there also. Caution should be taken in this type of crowded area because of pick pockets and other crimes. There is a police post available in the area for piece of mind. You are welcomed to take your family there and not forgetting the famous kava market upstairs. Four stars ✨ ratings.

Best place for fresh fruits and vegetables. Facilities need upgrading by Suva City council and also extend opening hours would be great.

Fresh goods and affordable prices. If you plan to live in Suva for more than one week and want to cook meals by yourself, you have to come here to buy seasonal ingredients. The location is close to bus station, so you can go anywhere when you carry vegetables.

Quite a busy place especially when everyone has finished work. There are lots of good produce available. You will find it very challenging to find a car park here, however, you can find all your need at this market.

You can buy primarily vegetables like Brinjal, carrot, different varieties of yams, beans, ladies finger and many types of greens. It's good to visit by Saturday evening as you can get everything for a lower price. There's a fish market at the back and two meat shops within the main building. I will recommend this place only to buy vegetables.

Nice local market - lots of fruits and vegetable stalls on the ground floor and an atmospheric spice and kava market upstairs under an impressive hexagonal roof. Well worth a visit - certainly more interesting than the modern shopping centres outside in Suva.

Variety of fresh produce and price are just right. You will never leave the market disappointed. Beware though of pickpockets as numerous cases of such has been reported.

Vehicle parking is the main issue. You need drive few rounds around the place to find a parking lot. You can find almost all the vegetables and fruits available in Fiji. It's better if you can visit the market on Saturday. Prices are cheap as compared to vegetable and fruit prices of Suva supermarkets.

Good place to find good produce but tends to be pricey at times as the vegetables are sometimes old and dry. It is also an unhygenic place as rotting vegetables tend to attract insects and flies stinking up the place. If quality of produce and hygene were maintained then this place would be a great location for buying produce

Your one stop market if you need fresh veggies/root crops/ kava/ fruits /seafood etc, especially on a Saturday. Market is closely situated to the butchers, supermarkets, fish market, fast food restraunts and the bus stand. Parking at the market or at nearby parking lots can be hard to find on Saturdays as it becomes busier.

Got some beautiful fresh flowers from the market and some lovely Ota. Although there needs to be a little coordination in their parking area, I think it's way better than before.

  • 4/5 Lasantha F. 2 years ago on Google
You can have a range fresh fruits and vegetables including species at a cheaper price. I suggest not to bargain since it is already very cheap.
