Local jungles with waterfalls and friendly guides We came to Colo-i-Suva (pronounced as "Dolo-.." as we were told) in the middle of the working day around 2pm on a taxi. You couldn't get the tickets at the gates and needed to drive a little further to a ticket booth to get the tickets. I believe, all taxi drivers know about it, so it's not a surprise for them. We paid in cash and then walked to the park on our own. I'd probably ask a taxi driver next time to drive to the middle of the park and pass the gates as the first 30-minute walk is just a dirt road. The trail starts in the heart of the park where a lot of mongooses live and the trail is marked. We walked there for half an hour completely alone. Then we met a local family who works there as rangers. One of them has voluntarily agreed to hike with us. It was very lovely. He showed us local herbs, plants, and waterfalls. For about an hour we passed 3 small waterfalls, crossed a few creeks, were surrounded by the jungles all alone (no other people on a trail), and soaked in the last pool as a small cherry on a jungle experience. We then walked back 30 minutes and stopped a taxi (a lot of them passing) to get us home. In our opinion, it's worth it! A nice trail with a lot of smells, and sounds, no snakes, and a friendly guide just a 20-min drive from Suva. Though the trail isn't dangerous when not slippery, it's not a wheelchair-accessible.

An amazing nature park to visit which is only 20mins from Suva city. They have trails, waterfalls, and a great big natural pools to swim in. Very safe as they have a central car park with security and bush rangers monitoring throughout the park

5/10 strength walk to the waterfall and natural pool. Could here bird chrping and monkey on tree. Big enough picninc spot as well near car park. Toilets were there but no hand washing facility eventhough 4 sinks were there. Might be ran out of water as ther to manually preserve it.

This place is home to natural species including birds, big tall trees of support. With pools at various intervals and waterfall. If you are feeling hot from inside, take a bath in one of these pools as you enter these cold waters. I woood say its quite refreshing. The entry is $1 per head with shower, change and washrooms provided. Plus a security for your vehicle. Also a general map of the place is provided if your plan is not to get lost.

BREATHTAKING!😍👌 I had never thought of Suva to offer much of the interior and hiking wonders but this forest park changed my perspective🤩This park is a natural beauty and has very relaxing, fun and mesmerizing ambience. Superb hiking tracks which offer tourists, visitors, hikers and the kids also; alot to experience. A great hang out location to have a relaxing and awesome picnic day out with friends and family. Park at upper car park if you want to enjoy the forest walk and see all the waterfalls and swimming pools. You can do a circuit exiting at the lower car park and walking back along the road to the upper car park. The lower car park gives easier access to the lower pool which is the largest of the pools.

Great swimming spot for tourists and locals. Such a peaceful place with an amazing view. Would recommend that visitors to the place go in groups for safety reasons. Enjoyed every bit of it at Colo i Suva! 🙌

Nice bush walks with well mapped tracks. Staff helpful. It's worth going for a swim in the lower pools or any other pools situated throughout the area, which are a welcome relief from the heat. The downside is that the area is neglected with some tracks needing maintenance, locals leaving trash around, and lack of maintenance. Taxi from Suva is approx 15 to 20 dollars, with a restaurant nearby.

I loved it. Much improved from when I last went. The scientific, english and local bird names on rubbish bins was a really nice touch. Loved the trails and the waterfalls. The bure's are nicely sheltered and have a fireplace too.

Entry fee is $1 and informed at the gate and collected by very sweet lady. Washroom is clean and very well kept natural beauty in Suva. Enjoyed our hike down to the pond. Keep it 💯 % natural

It's a very short drive from Suva city. You will experience the real nature of a rainforest. There are few natural ponds where you can swim. Extra care must be taken as some of these ponds arebit deep and no lifeguards are available. You can park your vehicle where park entry tickets are issued.

Colo-i-Suva is an amazing place for a forest walk and seeing small waterfalls along the way. The place is a bit run down. It needs repairing and signs because you will get lost or take a longer route and have to return back. We had to go to the forestry office which is about 200 meters ahead on your left, when the Colo-i-Suva entrance is on your right. The entry fee is $5 for foreigners and a dollar for locals (20th sept 2023). I had a lot of negative stories about robbery and murders at this place but we decided to visit it anyway. We were the only ones in the forest. The walk is quite easy. There are hardly any steep stairs. Just up at the end but not too steep. There are multiple small waterfalls. We were advised to take the track that goes with the flow of water. Something to look out for. When driving to the Colo-i-Suva car after the checkpoint, you will come to a fork. Take the left where the road slightly goes up. The car park is at the end of the road. You will see some traditional houses... secondly, walking, you will come to a fork. Just keep it right. We also took the left track but the track ends about 50 meters in. Thirdly, you will come to a track where one goes left and the other right. Keep to the left along the river. Soon you will be going up and coming to a car park. This place can contribute a lot to eco tourism. We definitely enjoyed this work. This is not for wheelchair users. Be careful as the track is slippery and some wooden bridges wobbly.

Entry fee for non-locals is 5 FJD. To be payed on the opposite side of the road from the gateway. After that a ca. 30 min walk to the main carpark follows. At the time of our visit, the waterfall track was closed. A tour around the pools that are good to swim in and have little falls themselves took around 1-2 h, depending on how long you stay at the pools. The track includes some smaller creek crossings and was quite slippery at times, so good shoes are recommended. No snakes or leeches. Many locals hang out at the pools, which was nice. Prepare for the usual chitchat and bring some snacks. All in all, a nice little rainforest experience.

Beautiful way to cool off after a hot day! There was no water in the washroom area though. They could improve on that.

Great, but you will get lost 😅 Definitely worthwhile to come here - especially on a nice day if you want to swim. We came in the rain, and were the only visitors, but it was still really great and lovely to swim and enjoy the walk. The walk is only a kilometre or two if you don’t get lost, but it is hard to follow the many paths. I recommend just sticking near the water and following it downstream as a rule of thumb. If it seems like you’re going back the way you came, you probably are. And if you are going in the opposite direction to the water, you are going the wrong way! The path is pretty well maintained, and it’s a beautiful little walk through tropical rainforest. Lots of places to stop for a snack if you want to bring a picnic.

If youre visitor please don't go alone.. opportunists galore.. a group of students from US arrived soon after we did.. one sunday morning.. then out of the blue appeared a group of 4 or 5 local 'tour guides' .. who decided to put on a show for the lovely lovely bikini clad tourists... fantastic performance they did.. visitors were well entertained and had a lot of fun on the swings too.

We stayed here for one night recently on our way from the coral coast to ovalau……. Room was more amazing than we had anticipated, staff were very attentive and food was great! Only downside was the amount of stray dogs at resort. We couldn’t use the balcony as they all just sat there wanting food! Otherwise place was amazing would def recommend!!

These cool water pools are a must see for your visit to Suva. A short 15 minutes by taxi from the city. This is a beautiful national park and the F$5 is well worth it. In the heat of the day, a dip in several pools is the tonic travellers are lookong for, to cool off, relax and unwind. I recommend starting in the top pools first and working your way down to a the lower pool. Take a waterproof bag/pack with you, so that you can keep your valuables with you. Enjoy!

Nice forest walk along a river with a lot of possibilities to swim. 5$ entry. We took the bus up there, I would recommend a taxi for the rest unless you have time. We walked and it took us three hours return to the bus station & no swimming. Definitely worth it. Take your rubbish with you

Very poor visit, very busy underdeveloped and not worth seeing. No sign of any wildlife at all & so called clear pools were murky and looked polluted. Do something else - not recommended.

This is not so much a review of the park as a warning, which is unfortunate as it has spoiled the whole experience of the park for us, especially our kids. BEWARE OF THIEVES. We were swimming in one of the small pools near to the lower pool when a couple of young men swiped one of our bags. They had walked past checking us out a minute earlier and then returned, jumped down, and grabbed a backpack. It was no further than 2 metres away from us but we had no time to react as we're in the water. They then ran off at speed and disappeared into the forest. Luckily for us, they chose the wrong bag, as phones and wallet were in the other one. They did get our car key though, which meant a fraught run back to the main car park to check it was still there. The police turned up and took a statement but there's not much they can do - apparently the thieves are from the settlement just down from the park and as much as park staff and police chase them, they are unlikely to ever be caught. In the absence of any warning signs around, our advice would be to have a great time, enjoy the swimming, but have at least one person stay out of the water with any valuables, and be wary of suspicious looking young men.

It's better to go on weekends or with family. It's nice if you're into hiking, exploring and that sort of stuff. For swimming, please swim if you know how. There is parking available as you go bit inside into a clearing. We paid $2 per person but I don't know if it has changed.

Very cool park and friendly staff. Multiple swimming pools to hang around in, with some waterfalls. There was only one track open when we went, but it was still a worthy afternoon spent swimming. Well maintained trail. Some overflowing garbage bins. Nice signs sharing local Fijian birds and species. Please keep an eye on your belongings when you go swimming. There have been recent reports of items being stolen. The park ranger reminded us of this when we went. The road was quite pothole filled on the way down, so take it slow. You can make it in a standard sedan, just be careful 😄 Non-local price for entry was 5 FJD.

Why I like this place? I like the challenge of having to walk all the way in for starters. And the berating myself that follows for thinking that this was going to be a walk in the park (pun intended). They had upgraded some parts of the park in 2018 and there are upper and lower pools available (natural pools let me clarify that). Its just what you need if you don't want too bad a tan from a day's cooling off at the beach. If you'd like their are even tour guides to elaborate on the diversity of the parks flora and fauna. For us locals it's usually just a great place to cool off.

A Okayish half day picnic spot near Suva. If you are done with shopping around in Tappoo City, MHCC and all prominent shopping destinations and also have nothing much to do, this place offers you a view of forest, little treks to walk and access to Natural water pools where water is sourcing from Falls.... Don't expect any amazing view of falls... Carry your water, snacks, food... Carry a change of clothes, towel and swimwear. Also don't forget to wear a non-skid footwear ok which you can walk comfortably through a slightly slippery pathway (nothing dangerous - just to be careful) If Falls are open, The trip is much more worth. Local entry fee $1 for adults 50 cents for children below 12 Foreigners $5 pp

Ok, so what happened was...I have never enjoyed almost dying as much as I did here. We wanted to go to the awesome rope jump...that's all we wanted in our life! BUT, we took the wrong route. But I mean, that's ok because there was another route to where we wanted to go....right? WRONG...but technically right...the trail we took was not cared for and let me just say...flip flops were ok for the normal paths...not this one. My shoes were almost eaten by the mud! But, it was beautiful. I will say that...I looked like a lost survivor when we finished but had fun getting that way. 10 out of 10...would recommend to a friend but will not do again 😂
