i
had
the
pleasure
of
being
invited
to
have
a
Pyeongyang
Naengmyeon
(cold
buckwheat
noodle
-
Pyeongyang
style)
and
it
was
superb!
Solely
on
the
Naengmyeon
alone,
they
deserve
5
stars
-
the
broth
was
immaculately
refined
and
the
noodle
texture
was
firm
and
of
a
slighter
thicker
variety
that
added
to
the
chewing
pleasure.
This
location
(the
first
and
original
Eulmildae)
is
situated
in
a
less-developed
area
in
Seoul
and
the
interiors
are
spartan.
It
doesn't
make
it
less
charming,
however
and
I
thoroughly
enjoyed
my
dinner
there.
The
reason
I
docked
1
star
is
due
to
their
soo-yook
(thinly-sliced
boiled
brisket),
which
we
ordered
separately.
It
wasn't
bad,
but
it
wasn't
great
either
(a
few
slices
were
set
on
top
of
the
Naengmyeon
too
and,
thankfully,
it
didn't
affect
the
noodle's
flavor).
Their
Nokdujeon
(mungbean
pancakes)
were
excellent
(though
somewhat
brittle,
even
if
you
know
your
way
around
your
chopsticks)
-
when
you
want
to
pick
up
a
piece,
I
suggest
using
your
spoon
to
support
(or
even
scoop
up)
the
pieces.
Will
definitely
return
(though,
I
am
not
sure
whether
to
this
location
or
to
one
of
their
other
locations
sprinkled
throughout
other
districts
in
Seoul)
