For the most of our stay there was no hot water in the shower. I contacted the staff about the problem and apparently this was the result of the wing being fully booked. This also seems to be a recurring problem, I have spoken to others that have had the same experience staying at the hotel. The ventilation system was also faulty, when we arrived the room was damp. Apart from that the room was clean, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was okay. Even though Scandic Svolvær is slightly cheaper than other nearby hotels I don't think it was worth the price.

Beautiful setting, our room is lovely, bed is very comfortable and view from the balcony is great.

We had a great experience in the Scandic Hotel in Svolvær. The lobby area is very spacious and they have some books and games available. There's also a fireplace that gets lit during the evening creating a cozy atmosphere. And the eating area has great views due to its huge windows towards the sea. The rooms that face the water have a terrace which provide a scenic sight. We actually got upgraded to one of these rooms and we are so grateful for it. The room itself is rather small though (one side of the bed was partially against the wall). For us it was not a big problem though. The included breakfast was amazing.

Auton parkkeraus Easyparkilla pihalle tosi helppoa.Huone oli toki hieman pieni ja kalustus vanhakoa, mutta toimiva yhden yön majoitukseen, huoneeseen kuuluva parveke ns. Meren päällä oli iso plussa. Amupala ihan OK

Breakfast was good front desk ppl kind... poor water quality electricity cuts out and cleaning ladies hung my dirty towels instead of giving me clean ones ( I arrived at 1am after traveling all day no one to get clean towels from.

Loistava sijainti, hienot satamanäkymät ja ravintoloita ja kauppoja lähettyvillä. Pysäköintipaikkoja hyvin pihassa, maksu Easyparkilla ja säköauton latauskin sisältyy hintaan. Huone kaipaisi ehkä pientä päivitystä, esim. pistorasiat hankalissa paikoissa. Aamupala oikein hyvä ja kattava.

There are some things to note at this hotel before deciding to stay. Soundproofing is not great in the rooms. If you are a light/earlier sleeper, perhaps bring some ear plugs. The banging above my room and next door was not dull. It was loud. I had a room over looking the water with a balcony. Beauitful, in fact! Though the overnight light on the balcony can not be turned off at night. And the curtains in the room are not so great at blocking this radiating light. I'm not sure how the midnight summers are here, but the curtains do not do much with reducing outside light. There is no bar fridge in the room and no spoons to stir that cup of tea or coffee with. Gym access! If you are deciding to stay at this hotel because there is access to a gym, this gym is not on site at the hotel! It is a 10 minute walk from the hotel, and depending on who you speak to at the hotel, they may not inform you correctly of how to gain access. Make sure to get a card access from the reception! Our stay was over a weekend, and like most weekends, there are local events on in the local area. Breakfast time can be busy because of this. For this hotel, it's too busy for tables to be cleared. As a result, I'm not sure that I ever saw a table without excessive plates and cups stacked up and shoved into the corner of a table for people to make room on their table to actually eat. Overall, an average stay for an overpriced transaction.

Food and atmosphere was incredible, super views of the harbor from the glass enclosed dining room shaped like the prowl of a ship. Town is within easy walking distance. There is parking and vehicle charging stations. Sailing ships are moored right outside too.

Hotelli on sijainniltaan ihan mahtavalla paikalla. Maisemat ravintolasta hyvät ja jos olet onnekas huoneen suhteen myös sielläkin on hyvät maisemat. Aula on ihan mukavan näköinen ja oikeastaan aika viihtyisä. Huone on aika perus oloinen. Huoneen siisteys ei ollut ihan kohillaan löytyi likaisia laseja joihin oli kuivunut jotain punaista nestettä. Pesualtaassa oli karvoja. Aamupala oli aikas tylsän oloinen. Olisin kaivannut normaalia pekonia mutta sitä löytyi vain paistettujen munien päällä. Valkoisen maustetun makkaran lisäksi voisi olla myös normaalia makkaraa tarjolla niin kuin useassa muussakin paikassa. Mehu ja maito automaatti oli mutta en huomannut vesi pistettä. Asiakaspalvelu oli vähän töykeän oloista jopa silloin kun toin löytämäni likaiset lasit ja kerroin ettei oltu kunnolla siivottu. Muuten ihan perus hotelli

Pros: The locatiom ia nice. Breakfast generous with plenty of fresh options. Parking is free on the weekend, so we were lucky with that. Comfortable room, cool view over the fjord. Cons: Rooms are a bit old.

Nice Hotel near the port, in the center of the city. Great personnel, very helpful, good breakfast.

Extremely rude staff that went out of their way to make our stay uncomfortable and difficult. Lofoton Islands is amazing but stay somewhere else. The outdated and old rooms and cranky staff are not worth the cheaper price

Not a great experience. It has no elevator and we had to wait for the breakfast since it was overcrowded. The hair dryer in the room didn't work.

Very nice hotel by the sea. We had room on the ground floor directly on the water, the view from the balcony was very nice. The rooms are really small, but warm and cosy. The best thing about this hotel is the breakfast - it was amazing. Great choice of fish, eggs, hams, breads, sweets, fruits, there was also vegans corner and everything was very tasty. The breakfast room is beautiful with amazing views to Svolvaer or to sunrise. Staff was friendly. Parking was easy directly in front of the hotel, its paid, but during the weekend it is for free. We can recommend this place.

Great hotel, located near the city center (5 min walk), and have various meal for breakfast. Should try the smoked salmon

Rooms are an offence to tourists and travelers. The are so small that if a couple you need to agree who goes were inthe room! In reception they where very helpfull to take the parking on the hotel as I could not pay with my cr. Card in the parking "machine". Parking a rip off by the way😟

In general I am a fan of Scandic...but the standard room was like a broom cupboard. Cats could not be swung...Also the price they charged Vs what we got for an evening buffet was way over the top. ...staff and breakfast up to the usual high standard.

A nice hotel in Svolvaer. Nothing fancy but the rooms are good quality. Ask for room with balcony to enjoy the view and the air. The location is perfect and the breakfast quite complete

Excellent location, but the staff is completely unprofessional. We did not felt warmly welcomed as we did in other Scandic hotels in the northern Norway. The service at the reception was just basic with no effort at all. The reception and breakfast/dinner area is too small and feels crammed with guests. It seems when designing the hotel the only criteria was how to squeeze in as many guests as possible. It is a pity since there are lovely views on the harbour from the breakfast area but there is no enjoyment when the area is completely crammed with people. In addition, the covid virus measures cannot be respected as the place is too small. With some effort this hotel could be a lovely place offering more comfort to the guests.

Our room had a mattress with a topper or pad on top of the mattress that had sheets however, there were clearly no sheets on the mattress under the pad on top. It made the room seem not nice at all The room had a bit of hair in the drain and other places when we arrived. Not cleaned very well. The floor was dirty too like sticky scuff marks on the floor. And the chairs appeared Dirty despite being a dark blue color. The two chairs also made the room seem very cramped. But the breakfast food was pretty good and the people who work there really sweet. No issues with the food at all! We did ask the front desk for extra pillows and blankets and got none. But that’s okay they weren’t sure if they had anything

A good hotel in a great location for the town. The room looked slightly aged, and should be due for an upgrade, but all the fixtures were working and nothing was broken. Breakfast good, bed was fairly comfortable.
