Stopped here on a whim while traveling, was definitely the right decision! Food was delicious, there were so many burgers on the menu it was hard to decide. The prices appear a little high, but the portions justify the cost. There is some nice outdoor seating available.

Amazing burger stand! Cash only, but they have incredible burgers!! Highly recommend the Nutty Goat. It is a perfect balance between salty and sweet. Full of the flavor of the patty, goat cheese, and bacon. Caramelized walnut and onion bring the soul of this burger. I always love the combination of sweet and salty. This is seriously one of the best burgers I got in the US! Reuben burger is also a good choice. Full of the flavor of patty and Swiss cheese. The service could be better. The burgers are the best!

A huge variety of unique burger flavors! From Taco to Thai, Ruben to classic. Excellent beef, large meaty burgers, grilled perfectly, and great flavors. Definitely worth a stop. Kind of a funky vibe. Like a food truck with picnic tables. Cash only. Also some seafood, chicken, and vegetarian options.

They don’t answer there phones on purpose so you always have to go there, place your order and then wait for your order to be ready. However this was the BEST burger I have ever had!!! I got the Nuts about Thai and it was soo good. The ingredients all fresh. Like crunchy fresh not soggy and all mushy. The peanut sauce is amazing. They have so many burgers to try I have to go back before leaving. They don’t answer there phone but the burgers are SUCH worth the wait! A specialty burger for under $10 ($9.50 after tax). You can’t beat that anywhere!! CASH ONLY!

I love stopping by after driving through smugs to get a burger. Amazing food and love the specialty burgers...there's a burger for everyone! High quality local beef. Highly recommended and so glad to see them open after the flood.

My hubby loves the burger. I ordered fish & chips; fish is amazing, chips are ok, maybe because it’s not so a great idea to order fries after 9pm.

Doesn't look like much, but popular for a reason—tasty burgers made with local beef. One thing I liked was an element often overlooked in judging burgers — excellent fresh bread! It seemed like it was almost just out of the oven, though I know it wasn't. It is true that the food is not super fast, but worth the wait if you have the time.

They are cash only, but absolutely worth it! I've been slowly making my way through the menu of different burgers and all have been amazing. My current favorite is the Hash burger with bacon, hashbrowns, and a fried egg. They do have shellfish on the on menu that share space in the fryer, but other than that they can make sure to keep your food allergies in mind. It's kinda food truck style. So either be ready to sit outside at a picnic table, or take it with you in your car.

As an Australian that has been living in the USA now for 5 years I have to say the Southern Cross burger is the closest I have had to an Australian style "works burger". My one suggestion to improve it further would be to use pickled beetroot instead of just plain beetroot. Pickled beets are normal on an Aussie Works burger. We got fries as well which were very good. We had to wait awhile to order because they are very popular. I would say between waiting to order and waiting for the food it was about 30 minutes so be prepared for that. Overall great experience and I will definitely be back.

Burger Barn for me is one of the best burger joint in Vermont! Always worth the drive from Saint Albans, about a 33 minute drive. Lots of choices on the menu. Everything is fresh, from buns to burgers. Fried pickles and fries! We get our food here then we drive to Brewster River Gorge (4 minute drive) and eat there while we watch and listen to the flow of the river. Bring cash, since its cash only! Just 9 minutes away from Smugglers Notch Resort. Jeffersonville’s hidden gem!

Love me some grass fed local beef! Definitely stop here if you’re in the area. I do almost every time! Enjoy

The young girl taking our order was very friendly and didn't mind answering questions, there was a bit of a wait but totally worth the wait. The burger and fries were cooked perfectly. They put just right about of mustard and ketchup . They are all very friendly. I have never been unsatisfied when eating at the Burger Barn

Don't let the setting of this place fool you. Nestled among a group of delapitated old buildings on the side of the road this place is a gem when it comes to burgers. Anything you would ever think to put on a burger, they have already done it and it is on the menu. These grass fed beef burgers were perfectly cooked and delicious! When you are looking for this place, you won't find it by the sign, you will find it by all the vehicles parked in front. It is definitely a local favorite and one place you definitely need to try when you are in the Smugglers Notch area or passing through.

I have only experienced this lovely little place, one time. And it blew my mind, the different varietys WOW some I have never heard of. I got a classic bacon cheese burger, nothing classic about it! It was amazing, along with the frys . The atmosphere is nice its outside with a few picnic tables. I took mine too go , and it was still as good. Services was fast and friendly.

Always had a pleasant dining experience here. Outdoor dining only. picnic tables and umbrellas provide shade. Food is amazing! Staff is friendly. They are busy at times. Cash only. Don't know about restrooms but there's nearby gas stations.

This was my second visit to burger barn. I just can’t imagine a better burger- sure there are different options out there but as far as the burger itself this is about as good as you could find anywhere in the USA. The “restaurant “ is actually a roadside stand so come prepared to tailgate or eat in your car if you’re caught in poor weather, otherwise it’s picnic tables only. It’s a cash only kinda place but the mobile gas station just down the street has an atm ($2.75 fee). Oh, almost forgot to mention the fries - you will need one size larger than you thought - if you try to cut calories here you will regret it because it’s that good! For special burgers I tried the goat which is great but honestly the good old fashioned bacon cheeseburger gets my vote, I could take that over and over!

The Burgers are awesome. They only provide takeouts but there are some picnic tables arranged in front. This is still a Cash Only facility. There is an ATM at the gas station nearby (300 feet)

What a great place to grab a burger! I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of burgers and this place is a 10, a rating I don't give out lightly. The patties are hand patted to order and all the ingredients fresh and crisp with a tasty brioche bun. They have a bunch of different burgers on their menu and I'm working my way down the list each week when I pass on my route for work. Their fries are also top notch, exactly what you find at the country fair. If you're anywhere near this place or want a road trip, you won't go wrong with Burger Barn.

Absolutely incredible burger! Probably the best burger I have ever had. I ordered the bleu burger with bbq sauce and it was extraordinary! The meat was also cooked perfectly. We also got the El Alamo and that was just as good! Highly recommend this place. We went in the fall and it was a semi permanent food trailer with all outdoor seating.

Very good quality burgers with many unique menu choices. I had the garlic burger (excellent!) and my boyfriend had a blue burger with bacon and toasted pine nuts which was so well balanced. The burgers were not greasy at all.

Awesome road side burger stand! Worth the trip over Smuggler’s Notch if you are in Stowe! Cash only? Burgers are perfectly seasoned and cooked. A ton of add-on items as seen on the extensive menu. Friendly and helpful staff, especially if you have food allergies. Can be a long wait, so budget extra time. Several picnic tables on site for ‘dine-in’ customers. A gem in Jeffersonville!
