Great place to relax, enjoy at least 3 of the large heated pools + smaller ones. Four restaurants provide you with tasty food and good drinks, fantastic breakfast too & lunch! Spa treatments offered on additional payment. Right next to YSB is the beach. Super recommend!

We booked a room with sea view which was great. We visited in December and the room was a bit cold but after asking we received a portable heater that heated the room in no time. The spa area is very clean and nicely designed. One of the highlights besides the great bar and good restaurants was the silent room with ocean view. The staff was nice and professional. Greatly recommend!

As a guest invited to Ystad Saltsjöbad, my expectations were met with a rather mediocre experience. The resort seemed to cater predominantly to a Danish clientele, with a noticeable emphasis on alcoholic beverages. Cuisine: The dining experience in the villa was underwhelming. The broccoli starters were decent, but the main course, consisting of deer served with pumpkin paste and cooked medium rare, was a letdown. The dish was presented without consulting my preference for doneness, and two servings were oddly combined on a single plate. Facilities: The saunas and pools, while adequate, lacked any distinctiveness. They were good but didn’t stand out as exceptional in any way. Accommodation: The room showcased a beach-inspired decor and was visually pleasing, with a reasonably comfortable bed. However, it lacked a unique touch. Service: The most significant issue was the apparent lack of personality and authenticity, a trait seemingly shared across this hotel chain. The staff’s approach added to this feeling of impersonality. A simple request for hot chocolate turned into a small ordeal, with conflicting directions from the staff and an ultimate denial of the request. This incident, in particular, highlighted a certain nonchalance in service. Conclusion: Ystad Saltsjöbad, while possessing the basics of a fine resort, falls short in delivering a unique and memorable experience. The uniformity in its approach across various venues detracts from the charm one would expect from such a place. This lack of individuality, coupled with the indifferent service, makes it hard to rate this establishment beyond average. P.S. they couldn’t make a decent cup of coffee if their lives depended on it.

Sweden 🇸🇪 Ystad - hotels and spa We enjoyed a full day spa experience. We had lunch at the spa restaurant, enjoyed the different temperature pools, partook in the two-hour creek experience, and many quiet spaces. We loved the beds in the quiet room with the view of the ocean which was a great mix of relaxation and enrichment. Eating lunch at the spa was lovely and a great start to the afternoon. The poke bowls are delicious and just enough to supply you with energy to go back into the spa reinvigorated. The creek experience is a mix of self serve spa with a tour guide. It's truly a couples experience as you mask, ice, soap, scrub, and mud each other before allowing the rain or waterfall showers to intensely clean away the whole experience. Our favorite stations were oil and the dryer room after such an immersed experience in the creek it was nice to rest and allow the fans to gently dry us before moving from the spa to other activities.

This place is so great that I come back once or twice every year either as a girls’ trip with a friend or a romantic stay with my partner. Super relaxing. If you’re not one for hot tubs or swimming pools, you can relax on the upper floor of the spa in large room with loads of beds, some with an ocean view. Remember to pre-book your treatments before you arrive! The restaurants are great and the breakfast buffet is good as well. My only critique is that they have removed the Belgian waffle machine that my friend and I absolutely loved. That used to be the cherry on top.

Beautiful views and an amazing location but the food was substandard and one has the feeling of being herded like sheep. Not an experience I care to repeat. Dear Jacob, I sent you an email however I am not sure you received it, so copying the contents here. Thank you for your response and being interested in improving the experience for future guests. On the positive, great location, lovely views and a really fantastic ambience. What I was disappointed in was : 1. The breakfast policy on dress code. All the diners were spa guests and had every intention of going to the pool and spa for the day, however no one was allowed into the restaurant area in their robes. I thought that was a bit of a double standard given that lunch at Lido one can wear your robe. Most guests had to get dressed into normal attire for breakfast then into swim suits and robes for the rest of the day. I can understand with dinner as it's more of a formal affair and you may have outside guests. I felt it was an inconvenience and saw a number of guests turned away at breakfast time because of this. 2. The breakfast timing doesn't work. My husband and I went down at the assigned time and there was a long queue. We were eventually offered to be seated at Gilda because breakfast was overbooked and which is logistically inconvenient when breakfast is served at Port. When we asked if we could get refunded because we didn't want to have breakfast at Gilda (we were looking forward to the views Port offers), your manager on duty was not empowered to do anything but say sorry that's the way it is. It made me feel like I was in the wrong for demanding the experience which we paid for. 3. Gilda's wine list and food was not great. I had fish which was overcooked and extremely salty (even for me...and I like my food salty). And I didn't recognize the bruschetta. When we asked if we could buy wine from the wine list at Port (it had some lovely wines), it was not possible. After the whole breakfast charade of being told that the establishment uses all available spaces for dining, I thought this was a simple request to support, but evidently not. 4. In fairness, Port's food was much better than Gilda's, although I did request some oysters which did not taste fresh. 5. Two of your outside heated pools as well as the cold/ice pool in the main sauna area was not working. We had been looking forward to this weekend and I feel that some improvement to the restaurant and empowering staff would go a long way to accommodate different requests from guests.

You just can't beat Ystad Saltsjöbad on a sunny day. Outdoor pool is not heated so on winter days you can only use indoor pool area and the smaller heated spas outside. Was a tad crowded but not too bad. Creek spa experience was super nice with 8 different experiences (foot bath, dry sauna, Turkish bath, etc). Restaurant, both dinner and breakfast, was top notch. All in all a fantastic experience. Definitely not cheap, but soooo nice.

I’ve traveled all over the world and this is, without a doubt, my favorite hotel anywhere! The people who work there are terrific. The location is amazing. The place is beautiful and the food is great. I was there when it first opened and it only continues to get better.

This is such a mixed review, but let me try to split it up so you know what to expect. 1. Room - lovely, perfect view, right on the beach. A bit on the small side. Doors open to listen to the waves. However getting woken up at 7 am to Guns 'n Roses 'welcome to the jungle' blaring at high volume from the hotel gyms work out at the pier completely ruined our nice relaxing sleep in and we ended up checking out earlier than planned. 2. Spa - okay. Pools of varying degrees and a sauna and steam room. Nothing else. But if you are here book the Creek Experience. Two hours in tranquility going through a variety of spa treatments. Really, really nice and relaxing. 3. Music - loud and EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME. Hallways, dinner, breakfast, spa, pool - everywhere. And not the relaxing wellness ambience one might expect from a spa. If you've read other reviews, you'll see from the responses from YSB, that music is part of the concept. I understand if you come on a Saturday and DJs are scheduled you should expect a pool party vibe. However, we were there Sunday-Tuesday and expecting to dial down and get out of the everyday noise. We ended up spending most of our time in our lovely sea view room reading and relaxing as we couldn't hear the music from there. 4. Food - Great :) 5. Service - everyone was great and obviously very used to people asking for the music to be turned down or if it's possible to be seated for dinner in an area with no music (it's not). In conclusion. If you don't mind constant loud music and a pool party vibe, this is a great place for you. If you, like us, enjoy low energy, quiet time at your wellness get away, this is not it.

My husband and I spend one night there to relax in February 2023. Everything was fine until we wanted to go to bed at 22:30. There was loud music with heavy bass from the bar area. It was very noisy, and our room wasn't even close to the bar area. We tried with ear plugs, but it didn't work due to the heavy bass. I called the reception 3 times for them to shut down the music and nothing happened. SO disappointing. We are certainly never coming back and does not recommend this place to anyone who want to relax.

Ystad Saltsjöbad offers a romantic escape with impressive views of southern Sweden's coastal charm. The check-in at 4 PM seems a bit late for a one-night stay, especially when you want to experience the enticing dining options and renowned spa. Restaurant Port exudes unique charm and warm Swedish hospitality. The staff's recommendations were spot-on, though a minor miss as the staff did not ask on how we wanted the steaks cooked. The presentation of each course was also presented in swedish, and in such a fast manner that we didn't really understand what we got served. The dessert, a baked chocolate with blackcurrant sorbet, was a highlight and teased the tastebuds. The room exceeded expectations, though larger bathrobes and regular slippers would be appreciated (offered outside the Spa in XXXL only - no inbetween). The spa, with stylish changing rooms, is truly relaxing. The outdoor pools are a must, especially after dark where you can hear the ocean waves crash in on land and watch the stars on the sky. However, the spa's offerings could be better with (i.e) a coffee station and light snacks in the spa-area. It would also be nice to be able to order cocktails or wine inside the spa, instead of having to put on robes and go to the loungearea to order and bring back. The breakfast buffet at Restaurant Port is extensive and delicious, though the scrambled eggs were a squishy miss. Ystad town offers a wonderful atmosphere, despite some weather challenges when we visited. Overall, Ystad Saltsjöbad is a recommended experience, though a few details keep it from a perfect score.
