Best pit stop place ever! Good food, nice playground, peacefull view

Einheimische lieben dieses Restaurant, wir waren ebenso begeistert. Wir haben hier hervorragend gefrühstückt und es sehr genossen in diesem schönen Außenbereich zu sitzen. Wunderschön hier! Die Roosterkoek "Brötchen" sind super lecker. Innen gibt es einen schönen Verkaufsraum mit Lebensmitteln und tollen handwerklichen Dingen, Souvenirs.

Stopped there twice on this journey fro. Cpt to George. It is a wonderful stopover for my fur child who has a good run around on the huge field. Tasty toasted bacon and egg and a cappuccino rounded off the visit. Clean bathroom facilities. It's a winner for me as my doggie is happy. I recommend a visit to eat their freshly cooked rooster brood.

Was die nou nie die oukikste plekkie nie!? Man what a great place, almost everything is hand made, they have the most interesting cold drinks in the fridge, yummmmm coffee, roosterkoek even?! Koek sisters, jams, beauty products, you name it! Absolutely fab, beautiful garden to sit and eat and let the kids play, clean bathrooms and super friendly staff.. And goodness me, try the nougat!!!! Rolandale is excellent for a coffee or lunch break, having beautiful countryside views and friendly service. It is also pet-friendly. It is my favourite half-way stop on the way to the Garden Route.

Such a lovely alternative to the busy Buffeljags. Excellent service and delicious roosterkoeke. Doesn't seem like it would get busy. Spacious area to sit and for kids to play!

A very nice padstal just outside Buffeljagsrivier on the N2 highway towards Swellendam. Food and service is great. Prices are very reasonable. You can eat here or just visit the shop with all its home produce. It also has a massive garden for kids to get rid of their energy if you are on a roadtrip. I suspect that they also host functions judging by the very large outside braai area.

This is a great place to stop and relax. Beautiful setting, great service, good South African roosterkoek and a safe play area for children. My wife and I can recommend a stop here.

For the best roosterkoek (freshly made right outside on an open fire) with a wide variety of fillings, great service and a nice relaxing atmosphere, this is the place to stop on your trip along the Garden Route. But be warned.... you better come hungry, because the helpings are king size.

Sehr guter Kaffee, netter Service, tolle Terrasse und saubere WC‘s. Für einen kurzen Zwischenstopp auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen 😍

Inside you will find a cashier on the right, drinks and snacks on your left. Really nice place to get some home made roosterkoek. They have from sweet to savoury food. Really tasty and food was piping hot when it got to the table. The coffee milkshake was also wonderful. There is home made other products from honey to soaps and creams. Also books section and kids area to go play. Staff was helpful and the music was nice and soft in the background. Would definitely stop here more often than riversdale.

Always a firm favourite. Great stop for kids to play-balls and toys available for them to play with and plenty of space to run around. Also, a fenced off area for dogs to stretch their legs. I highly recommend their roosterkoek!

Stopped for lunch and had a cheese burger, fries and cappucino. The food was good. Love the outdoor area! And the staff is super friendly.

There are plenty of great features when it comes to this place. One of my favourite things - the bathrooms! The ladies take such pride in decorating and placing fresh flowers all over the basins and keeping the restrooms clean. Restaurant = really good food. Rooster koek is a must. Cheese, egg, bacon. And cappucino with cream. Super strong. View from the N2 is misleading. Once inside and out the back door - mountain and grass forever! Beautiful!!!

Roosterbrood was good, and the fireplace in winter makes a great atmosphere. Huge lawn outside for kids to run around and stretch legs for the long trips on N2. Wooden blocks and activities for kids. Bathrooms kept really clean.

Overall the place is really lovely, lots of space for kids or dogs to run. Very peaceful. Food is really great. Coffee is strong. Service is a bit too slow but everything else is perfect

Definitely add Rolandale to your pitstop list. They have amazing fresh roosterkoeke filled with very generous portions at a great price.

Stopped here to stretch the legs and to get some lunch before continuing on our journey. Food was delicious and service was good and very friendly. Will definitely be back. Lovely play area for the kids.

Roostebrood to die for! Straight off the fire! excellent coffee, great venue with inside and outside seating. Good service and shop with nice goodies.

After a long trip, my family and I were so looking forward to stopping here. But I was so disappointed with the service. Staff were so miserable couldn’t even crack a smile, after saying my pleases and thank you’s they couldn’t even acknowledge that.
