This is One of South Africa's overlooked parks. It is situated in swellendam Western Cape. This is one of the most beautiful parks in the western Cape. The staff is very friendly and there is nice facilities. They have a viewing point which is amazing. They have a fishing area if your into fishing. The driver is very long so if you want to just have a nice drive in nature and clear you mind I recommend this park if you into long drives and view. I only saw three (3) animals, but maybe you are lucky.

Love this area as it's s different from other parks. There is walking trails, mountain biking as well as 4x4 route. The fauna and flora is also lovely

Well maintained facilities and comfortable camp sites. Not a lot of trees at the camp sites at the bottom next to the river and a bit far from ablutions, but nice lawns and good swimming in the river.

The reception area at the Bontebok National Park (review separately) gives you a small glimpse of what the park has to offer. It is a beautiful building that fits in with its natural surroundings, and along with the reception desk there is also a mini-museum as well as bathrooms. The staff were friendly and very helpful in explaining what the park has to offer, including the Lang Elsie's Kraal Rest Camp and Die Stroom Picnic site which I have also reviewed separately. The only thing lacking for me at the reception area is a curio shop, however the town of Swellendam is very close by so you can get everything you need there. The Bontebok National Park is a hidden gem and although it isn't necessarily one of the national parks where you get a massive amount of wildlife sightings, we did see a lot of different antelope species as well as other animals and birds. If you are a lover of the outdoors, put the park on your bucket list.

Great camping and day visitor areas. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. Game viewing should not be your main expectation when visiting though, not that we did not see anything but they were few and seemed nervous.

One of our favourite campsites! We had some issues with servicing the ablutions but, this was quickly resolved. The problems were actually caused by other inconsiderate campers.

The best park around! I spend almost every day here and can say it the most lovely place to be if you love nature. I'm hoping in the future they will setup a small cafe.
