Went to visit a friend who recently moved to Swellendam and heard about the restaurant from a colleague. I thought “hmm, such a well rated restaurant, in Swellendam of all places…. “ what an awesome dining experience! Food is excellent, portions are much larger than I expected from a fine dining restaurant! Great friendly service in a cozy setting.

We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was simply amazing. The restaurant had a really nice atmosphere and the service was super forthcoming. We really enjoyed our evening here.

The Italian dishes and the wine selection at La Sosta are amazing. There are several good restaurants in Swellendam but La Sosta stands out. Reservations are imperative because it is usually booked out.

The food here is some of the best I have ever tasted and the service in the restaurant was excellent. The rooms are quaint and in a quiet location but poorly insulated so that in cold weather are difficult to keep them warm. You are however provided with electric blankets, which were much appreciated.

We had an amazing experience dining at la sosta! I am vegan, and the team created an awesome four course dinner. I think I never ate better vegan at this quality and creativity. Thank you so much again for doing this so thoughtful and with so much love! We had a wonderful evening with tasteful wine and attentive stuff. The service is absolutely stunning! I can really recommend everyone dining at la sosta, it is worth every minute of drive!

We stayed the night and enjoyed the lovely guestroom which is reasonably small (enough space for everything) with lots of attention to detail. Dinner was simply outstanding both in taste and presentation - it's what you expect for more than double tjr price. The wine list is also really nice with enough choice of interesting wines. Moreover the service was great. Breakfast was equally great. You get to choose one breakfast dish but can order additional ones - which you definitely should. Each dish was a treat. So highly recommend a visit!

We had an amazing dinner in La Sosta. The menu has a great selection of food with meat, fish and vegetarian options. The flexibility of the menu is great, you can choose if you want to have 2,3 or 4 dishes. The staff is really friendly, helpful and entertaining as well.

It was a nicely presented, delicious menu at the La Sosta. One could tell that the whole team values high quality and locally sourced products. It‘s a good idea to make a reservation well in advance, definitely worth the experience!

Words can most definitely not explain how amazing the food and experience was!!! They use just the best produce and it is lovely and fresh! What an amazing find in this part of SA! Truly exceptional food in a modern and innovative Italian style with proper earthy undertones like true Italian cooking. Accompanied by a very strong local wine list. Front of house was also very knowledgable and welcoming. Quite special.

We enjoyed a wonderful pescatarian 4-course Valentine’s dinner with wine pairing here. Beautiful dishes, excellent wines. The bread with fig butter to start is already out of this world. Would highly recommend and definitely come back!

This restaurant is something exceptional. I thought there was nothing new for me in the Italian kitchen but Salvatore and his team managed to surprise me. Exceptional attention to details, top quality raw materials and an excellent wine menu. Our most pleasant surprise on our trip to South Africa. Highly recommended.

We had an amazing stay and dinner in La Sosta. The rooms have all the comfort that you need (but bathroom was a bit too small), staff very friendly and the food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. Highly recommend.

I cannot praise La Sosta enough. From the time we were met by the lovely Bronwyn at the door to the minute we left, it was an unforgettable experience. The rooms are so comfortable . Coffee and tea making facilities. Toiletries supplied. An inviting, sparkling swimming pool with comfortable loungers. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It's a family run business with both the young owners present. The dinner in a beautifully decorated restaurant was a taste sensation and very pleasing on the eye. Gareth , the waiter is friendly and quite clearly loves his work and surrounds. This is a place like no other. Most certainly a haven to stop at overnight or just for a one night trip to Swellendam ( which is what we did ) We will be back

Hands down the most beautiful tasteful creative cuisines I have had Western Cape. Visited Swellendam and this was definitely the highlight of our Trip. Will return. Met the kitchen staff thank you Chef.

We were greated very warmly on arrival as well as during our stay. The room was exceptionally clean and well layed out. The bed was super comfy and the room had a very nice bathroom. We felt very welcome and got served with the best breakfast I had in ages. My girlfriend and I will definitely return! Thanks guys!!

We spent the weekend at La Sosta and could not have been happier! I picked the place off of reviews and was not disappointed. The hosts Nina and Salvatore were welcoming and super helpful. It felt like everything had been thought of before we arrived which made our stay that much more relaxing. Everything is clean and of a high quality. We ate breakfast at their restaurant and it was all delicious! A special note for Gareth who is a chef apprentice there and was our waiter. Overall, if we could, we’d give them 10 stars!

One of the best meals I've ever eaten! As a vegan I'm used to mediocre dishes. This time, the chef went to so much trouble to prepare the most delicious, most creative, most artistic dishes imaginable. Couldn't fault them! I'll remember this meal for a long time! The highlight of our trip!
