Bearing the name of the tallest tree in NSW and over 400 years old, there is no doubt that the trip was well worth it! Looking at the photos does not even give you a fraction of the impressiveness comparing to standing right in front of it. It might not shock you as a sequoia, but definitely worth a look. The amenities on site are pretty good. The only disappointment was that it is not possible to have direct access to the tree as a Quarantine area has been established around the tree to protect it from diseases. But that's fair enough anyway. As for the road to site, the Stoney Creek Rd however, is unsealed with plenty of loose rocks. But still, 2WD will be more than enough when weather condition is fair. Access from the Lakes Way would be recommended other than from Wootton Way as the road conditions and visibilities are better.

Beautiful location in what looks like a deep rain forest sanctuary. The Grandis tree is really something to see so come out and have a look. 2wd will get you there, 4wd in comfort and adventure bike for fun!! Check out ADV Brett on YouTube for the video!

A short drive from Wootton through Myall Lakes National Park and you will come across one of the tallest trees in NSW. Bring some lunch and make use of the picnic tables nestled into the bush. There's toilets available too which is handy. About 75mt from the carpark there is a boardwalk to the viewing platform. The first part of the track is gravel though. If you're in the area it's well worth a visit, especially if you're into bird watching and scenic drives. Lots of information to read too. No photo of the tree as it was way to talk to fit in, no matter what I tried.

Easy access, the road was a little bumpy when we went mid March otherwise a good road. Good parking, nice board walk, short distance in, tables and toilets.

we came here last April 2022, after lots of rain there was a fair few puddles and clay was a bit slippery but ok if you have good traction control. tree is pretty cool, something you’d more likely see in the daintree.

It's quite a large tree! A worthwhile detour in to the forest when you're up this way. Such a different world once you leave the freeway and head to the Grandis. People of all ages will enjoy experiencing the sight big humongous trees!

Big tree ! Good spot, has picnic tables and information boards. A nice boardwalk up to view the tree. Toilets but didn't use them.

Top spot. You gotta go see the big gum tree. It's only 75 m from the parking spot. Easy walk.
