Federal government office

😠 I think 0 is high for APHRA. The forgot to review my registration and after 9 months still i am waiting. My officer was resigned and they forgot to assign me to another officer. They even forgot to change my officer. After 2 months, i called every day to talk to my officer and they said you have to... People often mention registration, case, application, AHPRA, officer, time,

Horrible experience getting registration after difficulties with previous registration. I applied on 27/1/21 and was only registered on 8/8/21. This was a matter of days before being kicked out of my masters program. My case was reassigned multiple times without my knowledge and the communication was lacking at best. I also had to pay for a 1.8K health assessment to process my request. I felt that staff did not care for urgency regarding my program or career. I find it preposterous that the company is still mainly working from PAPER applications because their systems are outdated. Renewal of registration should be completed online and not convoluted. I shake my head at all of these negative reviews.

Absolutely terrible. I applied at the end of November for re-Registration to renter practise after a 3 year break because I had time off to have a baby and only received contact in January regarding my case. My case officer then told me I would need to submit more information and that my case would be heard in June February bird meeting. Apparently the board only meets once a Month to decide on registration, this I feel is ridiculous in itself and perhaps the board should Meet more regularly to solve long waits practitioners are having for registration. Anyways, after submitting absolutely everything they required, detailed re-entry plan, supervised practise plan and more in the time required I then received a call a couple of days ago that my case would now Not be heard until march as they still want more information 🀯 This after ringing everyday sometimes twice a day leaving voice messages and emailing my case manager to find out about my case to ensure it had all gone through and requesting that if I needed to do anything further to please let me know. But nope nothing until two weeks later 😑 in addition to this, after not being able to hear from my case manager, I called AHPRA and was on hold for over two hours to be told that all would be ok and my case would be heard in February. I have paid for my registration for the year, I’ve paid for insurance, I’m a new Mum looking to return to practise and the boards help on the matter is completely incompetent and unsatisfactory. They do not care how long it takes and that people have job offers and careers they are trying to return to, not to mention that there is currently a shortage of practitioners. AHPRA you need to sort out yourselves this is not on.

How can a agency provide reviews on members if it takes no notice of the many negative comments about itself? Heal thyself? But finding out where practitioners qualified and when is useful to patients.

Watching 60 minutes and it is absolutely horrifying. Aphra is corrupt and should be closed down and replaced with a transparent regulator. The cosmetic surgeons involved should be in prison.

Unprofessional and disorganised - they did not check my application properly and emailed me to submit additional documents for english language skills, stating that I've declared for extended education pathway instead of primary language pathway. When I double checked, my application summary clearly stated primary language pathway and this caused delay in my application. + Recently they called me about delays in retrieving my criminal history check and hence affecting my registration progress and having to extend process time. Very disappointing & irresponsible because I have submitted my application 'months' prior to allow them enough time and now this delay will be affecting my visa application.

Based in Sydney told I need to do a midwifery refresher program in Adelaide or Canberra for 6 months. might as well go back to uni and re do my diploma of midwifery again. Swear words were created to be used against your agency. Wasted hundreds getting provisional rego for nothing. Totally useless.

Completely inefficient Customer Care; Only trying to guide through the website; The clause written in website was not clear and my question was related to that to clarify the clause; not to read out that for me; The Lady wouldnt able to answer that and telling that they can't help you; whats written is written, they cant explain the meaning of a particular clause what does it mean; Seems like they are translating the English to the kids not getting the inner meaning of the clause. I even asked to connect me to a Subject Matter Expert with whom I can clarify the confusion reagarding the written clauses; They didn't. I am so much disappointed.

So frustrating to deal with them. They have the lives of health practitioners at their slow and ineffective hands.

An absolutely disgraceful ""THUG"" like organisation. The disgraceful suspension of Queensland doctor William Bay and the veiled threat against courageous Dr Melissa McCann and other doctors shows how this terrible organisation works. Many doctors actually are scared of APHRA if they choose to act on their principles in providing true care and factual advice to their patients. If they step one foot outside the preordained PRO VAX narrative , de-registration is sadly likely.

It is totally disappointing to be waiting on the call for 25 minutes with the recording saying that I am the next caller on the cue! I simply had to hang up after that. This kind of service from such an important agency is simply not acceptable. AHPRA get your act together!!

Considering that the hospital system is so burdened when will the unvaccinated nurses and paramedics be allowed back to work to help with the overload on the system? NSW health refused to answer my question when I called them so I'm coming to your association to see if you will support the heroes of 2020 who worked throughout the first 3 waves unvaccinated. I have also reached out to the AMA for their response too.

10 out of 10!!! never longer than a 5 minute wait every time I have called!! The representatives and their customer service are better than amazing! kind, patient and understanding! I am an overseas nurse still in the us, applying for registration! and trust me that water is murky! but the representatives have been more than helpful going to the lengths of staying on the phone with me and giving me step-by-step directions while I’m doing it! I could not ask for a better customer service! stay safe! and keep up the great work!!

Please be aware that despite what it says on google about the offices being open from 9am-5pm, this is not the case. The offices are no longer open to the public. Any contact with the Ahpra is now either through a long wait on the phone (30-45mins), or via email.

Out of touch with reality. Agree with all others who have mentioned hassles while getting registered or renew registration. I understand this is a govt body with elaborate processes, but if they cant adhere to timelines then why not outsource the registration aspect to external agencies, who would do it quicker. Add to that quirky case officers!

I applied for my limited registration as a Medical Practitioner on January 2021. My case officer Christopher Wakim was appointed within 30 days and he was very cooperative. He was very supportive through out the process even though i had to sent a big list of further documents as per AHPRA requirements. My application went for board meeting and finally approved on 12 April. It took 3 months all together. My case office always keep me updated with my application status so it was really good experience.

Very disappointed in the way AHPRA handled my registration application. The customer service team had no idea what they were talking about and failed to transfer my call to staff that actually had access to my application details. If I had not chased them down with more calls, AHPRA would have never followed up with my enquiries. This caused huge delays for me starting work and I have not been able earn any income.

Avoid working for this organization if you have ethical considerations. Working for them will also impact your career and resume. See other reviews and you'll see how they treat people.
