If you want to wait an hour for cold, overpriced food then Georges is your place. Very disappointing experience, see the image attached for my $23 Salmon & Egg Benedict - Cold, uncooked muffin; two shreds of salmon; hard boiled egg; and sauce (the hashbrowns cost extra too but were literally the best thing on the plate)... Would not recommend this place

A really shockingly bad experience at George’s Mediterranean Bar and Grill last night. I booked this place a month in advance for my 30th birthday, when we arrived on time our table wasn’t ready. I had requested indoor seating, to which I was told that was noted on the booking but by the time our table was set up we were sat outside with no explanation. The table ordered and here’s where the issues began, our “mains” were insanely small, over cooked and cold by the time by they reached our table. Everyone was shocked at the small serving size. Attached are the photos of two mains and one appetizer as there were no vegetarian mains. $28.50 for the souvlaki $40 approx for the fish $18 for the halloumi The chips that were ordered were stale and unseasoned. The real issue and reason for this review was I had organised a cake prior. When I spoke to staff before the event I was told it would cost $2.50 PP to cut the cake (which I already find absolutely extortionary in the first place) but I agreed because it was too late to find somewhere else. The cake was brought out and left on the table with a knife and plates, I was really confused but since no one came back to take the cake I was left to cut it myself. Once the bill came, I straight away noticed a $15 cake charge. I flagged the waiter serving us and he instantly got a terrible and aggressive attitude. I asked what the charge was for since no one cut the cake and he just acted like this was normal and just started repeating “Do you want to speak to the manager? Do you want to speak to the manager?” Another guest at the table repeated we weren’t sure what the charge for was because how could it be $2.50 PP if there was no cake cut, it was essentially a storage fee. He just hit back again with “well do you want to speak to the manager?” I said yes and to the managers credit he seemed pretty surprised and apologized as the cake was definitely meant to be cut and served. The charge was removed but we were left a little shaken and the mood was definitely made worse. Two guests from the table went to speak to the manager about a separate issue on the bill afterwards and the same waiter saw them wanting to talk to someone and completely ignored them. Terrible, terrible experience and not one to want to experience for a milestone birthday. Wouldn’t recommend and will not be returning.

Umut is a treasure, be sure to treat him well, as he made our experience a great one. Give the handsome man a promotion, even after his first day! That’s how good he made our night. Anyway, the food is well done, and wines are delicious. Great night all round!

What a Vibe! Great spot for a Sunday lunch right opposite the wharf! Great music and decor which really set the scene. The halloumi was the highlight and the watermelon goes so well with it! We had the chicken skewers with pita and the Tzatziki was delicious, juicy and cooked just right! The Greek salad was so refreshing and had the right balance of feta and cucumber! The lamb shoulder was so tender and soft! Definitely a great place for a feed

The food here is incredible. The flavours are perfect and the food so fresh! We had seafood for two and everything was cooked perfectly! Tried a few cocktails too and loved every one of them. The waiters/waitresses were all friendly and attentive. The view is stunning, the vibe is wonderful here. You won't be disappointed with this place, try it!

A beautiful location, with delicious food and fantastic service. We ordered the mezze banquet which was affordable, with generous portion sizes, along with 1/2 a dozen oysters. The best Sydney restaurant!

Food and service was pretty good. They were out of octopus, but we did get there late. Only detriment really are the exorbitant tourist prices, but that is par for the course in this area.

Delicious food is offered at Georges. Great service, very friendly staff. Thanks for the experience.

Really enjoyed our dinner at Georges, we couldn’t go past the Mezza banquet!! Service was fantastic and friendly with little to no wait time!! The staff where happy to chat and answer questions we had about our food and we didn’t feel rushed at any moment! We were lucky enough to catch the cocktail happy hour that topped the night off! Would be more then happy to come back

No wonder this place has survived all these years. I was here a couple of times ten years ago and liked the place a lot, coming back now it is even better. The kitchen and dishes has improved immensely and should satisfy any critical tastebuds . To top it all, the service has also improved. We came on a very busy day, basically full house, and the maitre warned us it could take some time, but no. We had excellent service and excellent dishes, great job Georges👍

Great outdoor eating area if you enjoy 'people watching' plus good views of the wharf as well. Food was nice but quite pricey for the portion sizes. Cocktails were fantastic and staff were friendly too.

Good variety of both indoor and outdoor seating. Had the set menu for dinner with a group of people from work and it was an excellent Greek feast! Food was a bit on the slow side but our servers were very friendly and attentive.

We were stressing to find a booking on a very busy Saturday night. We called the restaurant and from the time Michael answered the phone to our greeting when we arrived the service was outstanding. Incredibly friendly and full of energy. The food was delicious. We were attended to promptly. Our group chose the grilled lamb set menu, the seafood for two and dishes off the menu. We were given great suggestions for wine and cocktails. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming.

There is a lovely atmosphere and feeling, the food is definitely rewarding and authentic. Would recommend for a nice city evening. The waiters here are of the most exceptional quality; thank you to Rob and Michael!

Food took some time to arrive but literally everyth was PERFECT. Squid was INCREDIBLY TENDER, lamb as well. Service was good too. Great experience!

Everything was amazing. Service. The atmosphere, food. Everything. But the dessert? I had the creme brele, and it was a disappointment, to say the least. It was alright but the texture was all wrong. It was liquid in the inside when its meant to be almost like custurd, thicker then that even. It was good. But desset killed the mood.

Delicious Mediterranean and Greek foods. Friendly and helpful staff and service. Had a table facing the water of Darling Harbour. NB. Suggestion to owner/manager: Please place a table cloth or non transparent plastic to cover the terrible cracks on the Formica surface or replace the table altogether.

We went to this place on August 7, 2023 around 5 p.m. We ordered 2 hamburgers, I asked for the Moroccan plate with lamb and semolina. I asked the person (I assume the boss) if the lamb was frozen or fresh. He looked at me askance and replied ''that's fresh...'' I asked to cook it slightly pink. I also asked to cook the hamburgers tender and slightly pink. You will notice in the photos the result on the plate. The lamb was on a skewer, overcooked and tough, I'm not even talking about the couscous... As for the hamburgers, they were overcooked and dry. I do not recommend this establishment. 🤮 I wanted to speak to the person who took our order, he had just left... If I could put zero, I wouldn't hesitate. Another one who thinks tourists are idiots... Totally 98 $

Had a leisurely long lunch between business meetings. It was quiet, as we arrived just as they opened. The service was attentive and the decor was comfortable with relaxing chairs and a nice bay breeze. For ordered drinks, entrees and mains. All were very flavorful, creative and enjoyable. The lamb shoulder could have been eaten with a spoon and was so tender and succulent. We would bring out of town guests here again for a relaxed lunch.

We spent over two hours here for lunch on Australia Day. The setting was ideal, the passing parade of people on the boardwalk was fascinating, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the most tender lamb ever together with vegetables and potato. Despite the fact that they were extremely busy, the friendly staff looked after us, and we never wanted for anything. We can't recommend this terrific restaurant highly enough.

Had work Christmas party here and we went with the set menu. There was were 4 different types of entree and quite filling. Mains were kingfish, lamb shoulder and pot prawns. Kingfish was delicious and the lamb shoulder looked really tender. I had the baklava which was different from what I had before and not as syrupy, a but dry and the pudding with granite better as per others. Plenty of seating but booking is recommended.
