The temple was built by Chalukya Kumara Rama during the end of 9th century as a celebration of his victories in more than 300 wars. A mantapam supported with one hundred pillars is built here along with Eka Shila Nandi (Single Stone Bull) at the temple entrance opposite to Shiva Lingam. Goddess Shri Bala Thripura Sundari is also worshipped in this temple. Hara hara mahadev shambo shankara. 🙏

One of most famous and oldest temple of Lord Shiva. Construction of it is amazing and very old architecture from Chalukya time. There will be signboard clearly mentioning way to Darshan. Just ensure you follow that without any miss. You have temple of ammavaru, Kalabairava and lord shiva. The beauty of Shiva Linga is you should climb a floor up to see full Shiva Linga. It's pretty tall and nice. A very big Mahanandi facing opposite to Shiva Linga is an added attraction. There is a Koneru where you can spend some 'Me Time' in silence, if you are lucky. It was surprising but nice to see lot of couples were spending time in creating memories for life as part of their wedding in Photo Shoots. All in all a very nice and serene place which you can definitely visit.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST TEMPLES OF LORD SHIVA, ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA. AS PER WIKIPEDIA : Sri Chalukya Kumararama Sri Bhimeswaraswamy vari temple‘s presiding deity at this temple is Shiva, known as Kumara Bhimeswara. The most important festival in this temple is Maha Sivarathri. It was built by Chalukyas who reigned over this location and the construction of the temple started in 892 and completed around 922 and The linga is in limestone, 14 feet (4.3 m) high and Balatripura sundari is the Goddess here. It is similar to the temple in Draksharamam, but is also unique, such as the linga being white. The temple was made a National Heritage Site. It resembles a twin of Draksharam, with two staired Mandapa. In Puranas it has been written that it is a Yogakshetram, which means, the person who has the "yogam" ("fated to have" or "opportunity given by god" or "boon") to visit, will visit the temple.

Giving stars and describing this place is pure insanity. It is a huge devine power station for mankind. Especially these sculptures are so beautifull compared to a lot of temples. Seven matrikas are wonderfully done. The lingam is another world of mesmerizing happiness. It's very unique. U can also find veera badra here 🙏🏼 thanks for annadaanam the committee is doing a great job. Also u can find king fishers also pied type, red vented bulbuls, weaver birds and a lot of water birds.

Peaceful and Devine calmness, but appreciated if the temple authorities and the concerned state government can shift the waste dumping to some other far off place from residential areas especially temples, which would only results in damaging ground water as can be seen in the pictures. Pics are of Draksharaamam

What a beautiful Temple. Pure blessing. However the temple has to be renovated. right now the archaeology department is taking care. If the temple is left to its management and i think they can take good care of it.

Very old temple and maintenance is very bad. Our temples our pride but govt. And temple administration are not much interested in preservation of temple properly. Maximum temple in A.p. are source of income. There is a ticket system everywhere.

This is one of pancharama temple , installed by lord subrahmanya...This temple is different All the other pancharama kshetra because this shiva linga is yoga linga and this kshetra is called yogakshetra ...Visiting this temple is not your hand without the grace of lord shiva because people want money , power, boons etc but who want yogam ? Moksha etc ...So if shiva wants you than only he calls you for darshan.

This temple is so peaceful and it is one of the Pancharama temple. We can also visit Draksharama temple (another Pancharama temple) which is about 40 kms from this temple. This temple is very old temple and shiva linga is about 14 feet high and we can see the lower part of Linga from ground and upper part from upper stairs. They are charging Rs. 20/- for darshan from upper stairs, but there is also another way from entrance where we can enter upstairs without taking ticket.

I visited it first time but on a auspicious day with early morning darshan. I was fortunate to have such a beautiful darshan. Arrived at railway station at 4am and went to temple by foot in 15minutes and had a bath in koneru near temple and visited this temple. The Abhishekam, Alankarana and morning Pooja and harathi was done. I was fortunate to see all those and had a pleasant and memorable moments of life. Both Linga Abhikshekam and Ammavari Pooja was done simultaneously. I was there from start to end of all morning Pooja. Very lucky. I ask everyone just plan to have morning darshan to experience a beautiful moment of spiritual experience.

KUMÂRARÂMAM ~ One of the Panchârama kshetra with the shiva linga (limestone) extending for two floors with a height of 14 feet with consort Sri Bâlâtripurasundari Ammavaru. We may miss visiting the ground floor Shiva linga if taken ₹30/- Darshan ticket. Mind to visit ground floor Shiva Linga before proceeding to the first floor. Then Sri Balâtripurasundari mâta. Be watchful of the deities around across the queue line to our left including Suryanarayana, Saptamatruka, Lakshmi Vishu, Veerabhadra, Chandikeswara and Saraswati Ammavaru... Walkable from Samalkot railway station... 🙏🏻Om Srimâtrey Namaha🙏🏻

The most awe inspiring thing about this temple is it’s age. The temple was built in AD 972, 1048 years ago. Just think about that for a minute and let that sink in. Now take a look at all these pictures here. The amount of planning that went into constructing this temple becomes very apparent if you look around. We were luck to visit the temple on a day when there weren’t many visitors. It gave us time and room to peacefully appreciate the grandeur of this ancient place of worship. One can only imagine how gorgeous this place must have looked like during its peak. Glad that the authorities are attentive enough to preserve this place.
