Sri Someshwara Janardana Swamy temple is one of the Pancharama temple, which is also called as Somarama temple, located in Bhimavaram town of West Godavari district. The Pancharama Kshetras are: 1. Amararama at Amaravati, Guntur 2. Draksharama at Draksharama, East Godavari 3. Somarama at Bhimavaram, West Godavari 4. Ksheerarama at Palakol, West Godavari 5. Bhimarama at Samarlakota, East Godavari. Many believe that Chalukya Bheema built this temple in 4th century. It is believed that lord Chandra installed Shivalinga in Bhimavaram and hence this temple is called as Someshwara Temple. In this Sanctum Lord Shiva is in the form of a beautiful Shivaling. Shivaling in this temple is small unlike other Pancharama Temples. Specialty of this Shivaling is it will change colors according to Lunar Aspect. During Pournami Shivaling will be in white color and turns to Black by Amavasya. Another Unique specialty of this temple is Goddess Annapurna temple built on top of the Shiva temple, which is something which we cannot see anywhere in India Temple timings: Morning 05:00-11:00 Evening 04:00-08:00

It is one of the five holy Pancharamas. Must visit temple in bhimavaram. Lord shiva here is known as Someswara and his consort,Sri Rajarajeswari. Separate Shrine is there for Sri Annapurneswari also. The Lord Shiva is here in Linga roopa- a swayambu- is one which is different from the other lingas. It is said that the Linga here changes colours - during the waning days of the moon , the Lingam appears milky white and the waning days it appears black.

This is an excellent temple to visit in Bhimavaram. There is a speciality in this temple, you will find siva lingam and parvathi devi deities nearby in same mandir. You'll find annapurna devi on the first floor exactly at the top of siva lingam location. She will resemble ganga. According to the priest the color of the siva lingam changes between white and wheat grain brown between the lunar cycles.

One such sacred temple which has an exciting story.. It is one of those 5 Pancharama temples, where the ShivLing changes its colour for every Pournami(FullMoon) and Amavasya(NoMoon) to Light shade and Dark shade respectively.. Maintenance of the temple is also quite good in every aspect, must visit when you're at Bhimavaram..

It is said that CHANDRA (MOON) did prathishta here for lord Shiva. Thus it is called as SOMAARAMAM and CHANDRAPRATISHTA temple. This temple is the 1 St temple in 5 pancharama kshetras of lord Shiva in ANDHRA PRADESH. This ancient temple dates back to 9 th century b.c built by CHALUKYA BHEEMA I of Toorpu Chalukya dynasty. Very peaceful and powerful temple and must watch temple. Hereby attaching the more info regarding temple in the below 👇 photos.

The Sri Someswara Swamy Temple in Bhimavaram is a spiritual haven, showcasing intricate architecture and a deep sense of tradition. The temple's serene atmosphere, coupled with the divine energy, creates a peaceful ambiance. The priests' dedication to rituals enhances the overall experience. However, the maintenance of some areas could be improved. Nevertheless, for those seeking a connection with spirituality and culture, this temple offers a meaningful visit in the heart of Bhimavaram.

Been there for my friend’s marriage, so heard about the history. Which says, Somarama is one of the five Pancharama Kshetras that are sacred to the Hindu god Shiva. The temple is located in Bhimavaram of West Godavari district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the centrally protected monuments of national importance. And there no priest is concerned about the devotees, but the money and tickets that devotees want to buy it. Just to say name and gotra they will ask you to pay ₹50 per person and please those who really want to have a complete magalaharati and Pooja, then you better buy a ticket. If not just go and Take the blessings. (They don’t even do that properly). You should have a clear sense on how to do all these rituals in temple on your visit. Better try to do it yourself. Coming to the Linga, it is a stone( Stalagmite - so called Lime Stone) with a silver kireetam on it. So, on a nut shell, this is a ancient temple localities day with completely improper and irresponsible management and persists.

Blessed to be visiting this temple almost after 37 years. One of the Pancharamas and one of the oldest temples in Andhra Pradesh, this main deity of the temple is Someswara Swamy varu. A powerful Shiva temple and a must visit place in Bhimavaram. After offering prayers here one can visit Ksheeraramam at Palakol which is also one of the famous Pancharamas. Om Namah Shivaya
