Small dam near to JSW Steel plant. Good nice view but the road is rushy with heavy trucks and risky

This place became popular only after the Kannada movie Manasa Sarovara, directed by Puttanna Kanagal. Some of the fascinating scenes were shot at the Naari Halla, the reservoir with two massive rocks formations. According to some sources, Nari Halla was not a right name for such a beautiful place, instead they named as  Manasa Sarovara. The place is amazing.

Dam is not a spectacle to watch but viewpoints on the way to the dam is just spectacular. Definitely looks like the Phi phi Island of India. Small islands formed due to the reservoir with beautiful sunset in the background is a treat to the eye. Caution for those travelling here are the loaded Trucks/lorry which travel on these roads. They are very reckless in their driving , the roads are very dusty due to this. But is worth the effort to go here for the views

Nice view point, the penultimate one as we exit Sandur town towards Toranagallu. A weak steel structure standing on a high point adjacent to Sandur Toranagallu highway is this view point. The views are spectacular from here, giving a soothing view of Narihalla rivulet cutting through interesting shaped hills, adjacent hills with dense forest all over them, and another hillock next to the view point that is like an island surrounded all over by the Narihalla waters. A few km down the road is the Narihalla dam. Parking adjacent to this view point can be risky sometimes as there is less space and all kinds of vehicles rush on this road in a great hurry!! 😁😁 A very good stop over to immerse in beautiful views that form part of Sandur town.

It is a great rendezvous with nature. A beautiful nature to be wondered only ! A magnificent view with a vast water body, hillocks and water flowing between two hillocks and a conveyer with iron ore running along from Sandur to nearby steel plant. The spot is serene, salubrious and wonderful!

Hidden Natural Gem, Wish there is a place to stay, jealous with the NMDC and the JSW Steel workers who see this every day

The views are outstanding specially in the monsoon months. The road condition is not bad although this route is very much frequented by the trucks hence making it a bit uneasy and dusty. The area surrounding the water body is made up of hills and gorges and simple one can sense the beauty of the nature spread around. This also comes enroute to sandur through torangallu.
