Awesome homely food. The owner is a polite and compassionate gentleman, he suggests what to have according our preference and it would be perfect. I liked the way he wrote our order in caligraphy. Beautiful ambience and you would be mesmerized with those crazy quotes written everywhere. You wont leave the place without laughing at least one time:) There were few pets around like cute puppies, parrots and love birds. Simply put, Just give a try, you will definitely like it.

I don't know what to say I came here seeing the Reviews. I'm stunned for the 1st time Google review was worth it. This is more than a Restaurant/Cafe it's a Hobby based Cafe. More to add they don't even have a Menu care they expect us to intract and they raise a order after that. This place is full of Humor. Unfortunately I didn't meet Uncle Kalaipa(The owner) I haven't met him atall but he feels like uncle to me. Im a pet lover/ Plant lover and a person who loves Uniqueness. He is exactly the same Vibe that I can feel. I went to Dog canal at the back. I literally saw every dream Dog breads here (Mastif/ Dane/ Dorsoi/ Real Golden retrievers/Husky/Bull varities and other small breeds). This place is full of Bonsai tress and Birds all around. It's like a Fairy tail place. I came here on my bday nobody here knows but I felt special finding this place. I want to meet Uncle one day. This place is incredible. PERFECT FOR SOUL SEARCHERS. Now coming to food yes it took 45 mins to explore the place and start eating. I had Salmon pan Fry with was out of the world with Chappati and chicken gravy home style. I felt those chapatis and Gravy was from my home kitchen. This place is worth coming for. I will even say you can come to yercaud just to experience this place. From today onwards I will never miss coming to this place whenever I come to yercaud. Try their Coffee Mousse!

Sweet Rascal is visited by tourists for their uniqueness. The Restaurant serves delicious non-veg cuisines. The ambience and décor are lovely as one marvels at the collection of bonsai, plants and seating. We relished their Pan-Fried Salmon with heart shaped Rotis and Chicken Masala the first time and Batter fried Shrimps, Rotis and Pan-Fried Salmon the second. The dishes are fresh as they are prepared only on order and delicious. The owner Dr. Vishoo Kaliappa and host Kanimozhi take great care of the guests. Would love to visit again to relish their Sri Lankan Rice and Mutton Curry.

"It's a really good place and you should visit it" this is what I tell all my friends and family when I speak about my trip to Sweet Rascal. Their fish fry was the best I've had, we ended up ordering 3 full ones so you can imagine how good it was. The mutton was cooked to perfection as it was really soft. The fish fingers with the sweet and spicy sauce was the perfect dish which every single kid would love. We also had their Sri Lankan flavored rice, a chicken curry, mutton curry and chicken masala. The ambience is spot on, you really need to visit this place if you are ever in Yercaud. A wholesome restaurant .

Definitely a sweet rascal for sure, the location has savage quotes all over the place, surely brings a smile to your face. Best part being you have to get an appointment in person and book your slot. There is no menu but the owner himself will suggest based on your preference. How great is that! Must try if you are in Yercaud.

Everything that I wanted to say had already been covered by other reviewers. Just the main points here. 1. GIVE YOUR ORDER IN PERSON ONE DAY IN ADVANCE! 2. Come prepared to spend a long time reading all the humorous quotes. 3. Come with a group large enough and hungry enough to try everything available because everything is delicious! 4. Say goodbye to privacy because they WILL note down every person's phone number in the group.

A beautiful quaint little property in the heart of Yercaud ! Had some amazing amazing home-food kind of non veg ! The fish fry was out of the world (they used salmon), and the crabs were to die for ! They ask you what kind of preparation you like and they make it to ur taste ! It’s strictly for non vegetarian ppl, and there’s absolutely nothing for the vegetarians. They have mostly South Indian(main course u get rice, dosas, parottas, chapathis etc with a variety of non veg curries) and a bit of continental and Italian too. Their Srilankan rice is famous ! Their choice of meat/non veg would be chicken, mutton, fish, prawns(tiger and medium), crabs and octopus ! They have hugeee glasses of milkshakes ! The seating outdoor is so pleasant, esp during weekdays, with hardly any touristy crowd ! Make sure to reach the restaurant atleast 60-75 mins prior and place your order, for they prepare everything fresh, once the order is placed only ! Also, They have 4 rooms for stay, all of them with the feel of the British buildings ! The rooms are all reasonably priced ! Bed and bfst at less than 5k. They r just 500 metres from the lake. 200 metres from shevroys hotel, take the lane adjacent to shevroys. Google maps is accurate, and the phone number on google also is right. U can call and reserve a table before u go. Weekends are really crowded. They even have a pizzeria and workspace and more rooms coming up soon !

Excellent cosy cafe. *Reservation Required :You will need to have a reservation to have food. So, it's better to call and then go. Else , if you reach, you can book a slot for the next meal. Food-We took the lunch option and ordered Jaffna mutton curry, Srilankan rice and parota for the main course. We also tried butter fried prawns. They also have various mocktail options. Everything was up to mark and delicious.A must try place in yercaud. The owner of the place is also very nice and welcoming. He himself writes order for everyone in beautiful calligraphy. I would strongly recommend this place if you are a non veg lover. The restaurant is not meant for vegetarians.

I, along with 21 friends, had Lunch on Sunday 17th December 2023. We all had an amazing time in this unique restaurant with contemporary ambiance, other than food, you can enjoy reading the hoardings inside their campus as written by Sweet Rascal. The gentleman, Mr. Vishu Kaliapa, who runs the restaurant, was a very friendly character and made the dining experience more enjoyable. We just want to thank him for guiding us well in choosing the menu and the quantity. The quality of the service and food was excellent. We had a great time wandering around the place where they had a Kennel and contemporary building.

Great hospitality with awesome food. It is one of the best restaurants I have ever visited. The owner Dr Vishu interacts with every visitor and writes notes about them. He is a genius with an awesome sense of humour. The food is very tasty as well. A Must visit in Yercaud.

When we visited Yercaud, my brother recommended this place and said that it is a must visit.. and he was so right! Food - The food is the highlight of this place. Recommended by the owner, we tried the batter fried prawns, salmon fish for starters, Sri Lankan rice, egg dosa, parotta, chicken curry and prawn masala for main course and saw dust pudding for dessert! Each dish was better than the other but we were a group of 8 and we felt that the serving size suggested was a bit small. So we reordered the same dishes again and we got those pretty quickly. The price was very decent too. Ambience - The restaurant is in a beautiful property, the owner has a variety of bonsai plants, dogs and birds. The restaurant has some quirky quotes written throughout which were good fun to read! Reservation - Prior reservation is mandatory, since we wanted to have lunch we went one day before and spoke to the owner and decided on our menu! Overall a very unique experience with great food when you visit Yercaud!

We had a great time at the restaurant, it was not a typical restaurant but an experience as the owner met us personally and the lady handling the entire restaurant was sweet to talk to and intuitive about what we would like and suggested the best options. The restaurant does not have a menu and that's a thrill as guests need to interact with the hosts and decide on what to have. We had to pay an advance but that's understandable considering the fact that this is a family run business and not your typical restaurant and that all food is freshly prepared and they have a zero waste policy. The witty quotations across all walls, meeting the dogs and the birds and having a great conversation with our hosts was icing on the cake. Will surely visit this restaurant again.

A spot that I loved a lot. I'm truly glad to have stumbled upon this place. The ambience and the food was out of this world. The mutton balls (Kola Urundai) had a crisp exterior with well seasoned meat on the inside. The egg dosa with chicken gravy was to die for. The chicken masala fry was juicy and left my senses tingling. The pan fried fish stole my heart. It was beautifully cooked and seasoned with love. Above all, hospitality speaks for itself. We were welcomed by the staff as well as the owner and were treated like family.

We visited this place knowing no details of the menu available but the reviews were pretty positive. We tried calling the restaurant several times before leaving just to be sure seats would be available but the number was busy. Surprisingly enough i got a call back from the restaurant and the owner was clear in setting expectations about the wait time. Once you visit the menu is very personalized by the owner and he gives suggestions on what can be made available for the day. Once the order is placed the wait time if between 1 hour to 1hr 15mins. Once the food was served it felt worth the wait. We had ordered egg dosa, mutton chukka, fish tawa fry, prawns golden fry and mutton curry. Mutton curry was just finger licking good and the chukka was well cooked with tender meat. We also ordered cold coffee and mocktails and God was the cold coffee creamy and awesome. The place has some quirky lines mentioned all over and it's not a place for large number of people to gather. If you love animals then visiting the place during day time would be much suggested. The owner Mr.Vishoo has great knowledge and is a very enthusiastic. Once you strike a good conversation, it can go on for a long time. The bill you receive from him too has his personal quirkiness. It's a worthy place to visit for some good food, relaxation and some awesome cold coffee and mocktail

Very unique experience. You need to visit the restaurant and book the table along with menu. First, the owner will suggest few options based on your preference. Then he will write the details in calligraphy. The picture will be below. We went there late afternoon to book a table for dinner. Try pan fried salmonella and egg dosa if Available. Very good hospitality n beautiful ambience inside. Birds are kept in the restaurant which makes the place more beautiful. Quality and quantity of food is decent. Price is quite affordable.

A pet lovers paradise. Mr. Vishu simply loves pets and will welcome you and your pet to his heavenly abode. The British era setting and ambience will take you back to the rich past. Lovely, neat rooms with an excellent restaurant serving mouth watering non veg dishes. You'll love every minute of your stay at his resort.

It's a nice place with good vibes. The food was tasty. We tried to walk in during lunch but they were sold out. We then booked a table for the night. We also had to decide the dinner menu while we booked the table in the afternoon, which was inconvenient. When on a trip, it's hard to decide what you may crave as the day progresses. We also had to pay 60% as advance. They also wanted the names and phone numbers of all the members in the party. Frankly, now that I look back, I feel it was too much of a hassle. P.S. The serving staff always served with a smile...

A unique experience where the food has to be pre ordered to enjoy a slow cooked meal. Dr Vishu is wise and great company guiding us with calligraphic notes on places to visit and witty anecdotes! The meal was as exciting as the decor. Nisha added a homemade touch by helping us understand portions and shared tips on the best combination to order. Truly a place to remember!!

The ambiance at Sweet Rascal is lovely, and the food is truly exceptional. We savored the basa fish, relished the flavorful mutton curry paired with an egg dosa, the litchi mousse and indulged in a mysterious frozen muse. This restaurant is an absolute must-visit in Yercaud. As soon as you step inside, the fur babies warmly welcome you. And the icing on the cake? The owner and staff exhibit the most welcoming behavior. A perfect 5 out of 5 rating! Thank you for sharing your delightful experience! 🌟🍽️👏

The name Sweet Rascal for a reason! A must visit place when in & around Yercaud! I had been here twice, first one was on a lunch date and the second time, it was my 1st solo bike ride, stayed there for a day n night, being a single girl, I never felt uncomfortable, it was all safe, clean and peaceful! This place is strictly for non vegetarians, as I fear vegetarians would hardly have any food choice here!😋 The host, Dr. Vishu Kaliappa is an amazing human and has a vast knowledge on variety of subjects, talking to him equals to reading of many books! Staff here are very sweet & kind, they make it feel like home! Their service & company makes you feel comfortable and safe!🧡 Fooood, you find a variety of non veg dishes, it's less of a restaurant style and more of home food🤤. Most importantly, the plants & pets gives you the vibes of a mini jungle! The ambience is awesome! A small ecosystem I can say! I totally loved this place and would definitely recommend if you are looking for a peaceful stay amidst the nature with less of bricks n walls. Am glad I started off my 1st solo ride from here, totally loveable and positive place!💜💜

Food is awesome and they are served with hot. The problem here is they are asking us to book advance/reserve the table for the food, that won't work for many people, the can change that formula, since for tourists they just to know abt the place and they won't aware on booking advance at that point. In our waiting time, we can spend time on Birds, Quotes and lots of plants, bonsai varieties which is a good one

The name of the place itself is soo unique "Sweet Rascal". The ambience is awesome and food is so soo yummy. Pls do not miss the fish fry. If you have Vegetarian in the group, you can take curry or gravy from outside. They can serve chapathi, Dosa or rice. The non-vegetarians will love the food. If you have taken the appointment a day prior you need not wait for the food. They serve it in 10 mins. The quotes and plaques are just awesome to read and you will enjoy every plaques. Don't forget to say Hi to tiktok(bird). She is very 🥰.

Have never been to a place like this before! I went in, looking at the board and quotes and (2k+ reviews online!). Came out happy and satisfied with great food and welcoming hosts. Right from the quotes on walls to even the bill (which funnily reviews the customer) and the cute dogs playing around you, this place keeps you smiling. Nisha and Ruby - thank you! P.S: call and reserve and hour before coming here. Good food always takes time!

I had a wonderful time with the manager Dr Vishoo Kaliappa at this cracker of a place !! Beautiful decors, amicable and jovial host and lip smacking food!! What more does one want? However , how can I forget mentioning the fact that Dr Kaliappa manages to get to know every guest to his beautiful restaurant, share stories and experiences, and make them feel at home! Topped with the fact that he maintains a lovely British style heritage bungalow inn that's worth more than just a visit right behind Sweet Rascal. On a personal view front, I had possibly my greatest hospitality experience ever at Sweet Rascal. Being a connoisseur of art and music, Dr Kaliappa appreciated my sketched artworks in the most endearing manner ever when I visited for lunch. We bonded immediately over humour, literature, travel experiences and food. I'll never forget how he treated me to the biggest piece of salmon steak in lemon butter sauce and even picked me up and dropped me like a family member the next day. If I have to call one single restaurant as family experience in this entire country, I would name Sweet Rascal. Much love to all ❤️

Definitely the ambience was good, no doubt. But with regards to the food, I felt this place was hyped way too much. They had a very limited menu. We ordered Parotta, Prawn curry, Egg dosa and Fish fry. We felt the food was very average and not like a definite must try place.

Awesome Place. Best food in Yercaud or I should say one of the best places to have food in India. The Mutton Curry was wow or I should say the center piece of our experience we had ordered for one only beforehand but ended up getting two. The srilankan rice was very flavourful and the tava masala fish fry two quantities is what we had and the same was awesome. We were only three people so you can guess the quality of food since all three of us over fed ourselves. The egg dose was ginormous and tasty. The chicken starter was tasty as well with lots of flavorsome spices. Food was awesome and so was our host, who so funny and sweet and kind. If I am even 10% as cool as him when I am his age I will feel my life to be fulfilled. Kudos to you sir. Keep up the good work and keep smiling. Thank You. Have visited this place all the three times I have been in Yercaud and will keep visiting them when so ever I am back here.

Unique mouth watering flavours and aroma linger at this precious little gem of a home-style crafted restaurant. The ambience is so picturesque and set amidst exotic greenery and plants that are cared for like their own children. Enjoyed the huge bonsai collection created by the owner himself over decades. The food is rich in aroma and flavours, unique recipes and good quality of ingredients add to the rich culinary experience at Sweet Rascal! Definitely a must visit place when in Yercaud!! Don't miss it!

Sweet Rascal is different experience. Really different compared to any other in Yercaud. Two things to look out for, there is very limited parking and you need to book a slot in advanced, they have 1 hour to serve. "Plan well in advance and call them". The ambience - just wonderful, green green all around along with some interesting wall decors and painting. They have animals all round, can be bit high on smell if people are not used to pets. Coming to food - simple and good. It's worth the wait and price is nominal. Menu totally depend on what is available with them and it's A1 quality.

The guy has his style of entertaining his guests. As a host of South Indian delicacy he serves well and nicely. Has limited space so booking you have to do in person and in advance. Only thing which I felt doesn't goes much with his style is presenting food in plastic plates and plastic table chairs. Otherwise food is good and one must try.

Happy vibes only. This is an amazing place which has a vibe of its own. The owner is a jolly fellow and interacting with him just makes your day. Now, talking about this place, we went here on a weekday in the second week of December and we had plenty of seating. They also offer a stay at their property, but you have to contact the owner for the reservations. You have to place the order an hour in advance and then come and eat. They themselves would recommend your food when you go to place the order. The staff are very good and take care of you very well. Being a non-vegetarian, I enjoyed my food thoroughly here (no vegetarian food here). Make sure you take a walk around their property (of course with their consent), from the quirky quotes to the big house, you won’t know how time would pass by. The rates are pretty moderate and the food does not take a lot of time to reach your table as it is freshly prepared. So, we had Mutton sukka and salmon tawa fry for starters and Chicken curry along with parotta, chapati and white rice as main course. The mutton sukka was cooked perfectly, it has a nice flavour. I would totally recommend this as a starter, it’s a semi-semi gravy preparation. The Salmon tawa fry was a soft & mildly spicy dish which was perfectly cooked. The chicken curry was delightful, it was medium spicy and had a good quantity of chicken. This is a perfect accompaniment for rice, parotta and chapati. We had an amazing experience here and I’m definitely coming here to try out the other dishes that they have to offer. The owner and staff made sure that we left the place with a lot of happy memories. I would like to give the : Food - 3.5/5 Service - 4/5 Ambience - 4/5 P.S. : Talk to the owner and ask him for places he would recommend for you to explore in Yercaud. He would write you an itinerary and you would be amazed at what you see. I’m just going to leave at this.
