Want to learn more about Ubud then this walk is a must. A lovely cultural morning well spent with Guides Windia and Khana as they shared stories about past to present Ubud, the Campuhan valley and painter I Nyoman Lempad's legacy. Not to forget Kelly - the founder of Ubud Story Walks company, stories and hospitality made the experience even more worthwhile.

Had the pleasure of taking the "Ubud: Past to Present" walking tour and it was absolutely amazing! Our guides (the lovely Kelly and Khana) were knowledgeable, personable, and engaging, they truly brought the area to life for me. The tour provided me with a fascinating glimpse into the rich history and culture of Ubud. I learned about the role that this area has played in shaping the culture of Bali. We also sampled some of the most delicious and authentic local snacks that I've never tried before! This tour truly enhanced my overall Bali experience and gave me a deeper appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the region. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the art, history and culture of Ubud. Thanks again Ubud Story Walks for providing me with such an exceptional and memorable experience!

We were in Bali for a yoga retreat and wanted to check out the town of Ubud. Ubud Story Walks’ guided tour - run by the lovely Kelly, was the perfect way to discover some of Bali’s rich cultural history and Ubud’s local offerings. From temples to coffee shops this fun and informative tour was guided by local Balinese and certified guide, Khanna. One of the things we found most exceptional was that of the 5000+ tour guides on the island, Khanna is one of the 10% who are female. We absolutely adored Kelly and Khanna. They were extremely qualified, articulate, full of fun facts and humour. A definite and affordable MUST on your to do list while visiting Ubud. Highly recommend. Suksma!

Intimate, relaxed and knowledgeable tour from Khana. I had a great time and it was interesting to stroll through and learn about the history of Hinduism and art, the royal family, and traditional family life in Bali. Highly recommended and my favourite tour experience in Bali so far.

I love the tour so much. Both the tour guide and their knowledge of the culture and history of those places are fascinating. As an Indonesian, the explanation of the historic places helps me to appreciate more of the places in Ubud. I passed by Tjampuhan Ridge Bridge and Pura Lebah several times during my morning walk when I stayed in Penestanan without knowing the history behind those two places. Thanks to the tour, helped me understand it. This tour is a must if you visit Bali, especially Ubud.

Highly recommend the Ubud tour. Khana and Windari were wonderful guides. We have been passing by the landmarks many times but during the tour we actually learn about its history and culture. Visiting Ubud would not be the same without learning so much during the tour. Missing Ubud and Bali already!

Tour date: mid November 2022 I was the only one who showed up that day and that felt like a private tour! Khana and Kelly went above and beyond in explaining the art/historical aspects of things. So glad I did this at the beginning of my trip, the temples and architecture for the rest of the trip made so much more sense! They also arranged logistics for me to get my SIM card sorted out. We're also lucky enough to witness a local cremation possession that felt like a street carnival! 10/10 would recommend this tour if you're looking for in-depth/personalised tours and would come back to join the rest of the offerings next time

Wow, do not miss! Fantastic tour, tying together Balinese art, religion, architecture and Ubud's history. Wynn was SO personable and knowledgeable, thanks for your patience with all our questions! Visiting Ubud is so multifaceted, without the help of a local guide like this, it felt like we were at a loss for what we were experiencing and how to digest this gorgeous paradise. Loved that we could come back to check out museum afterwards. Snacks during break were delicious. We HAD to come back to Cantina for lunch and the view Somehow the food we had matched the vista, no small task. This was the best day of our trip, would highly recommend doing it in the first few days you are in town as it truly gives you an appreciation for where you are staying and the magic of the Balinese people and culture. Thanks Wynn, you rock!!

This was a great experience in Ubud with Khana. The tour brings you significantly around Ubud and gives you context of some of the cultural landmarks. The after taste was actually the best though because we were given a postcard map which gave us a discount% off at some eateries in the area. These are often gimmicky but we went to two of their recommendations and they were part of our top five eateries in our 4d trip to Bali. 💯 recommend!

Had a wonderful experience walking around ubud learning about the history and culture of Balinese people. Khana explained things really well and answered all our questions. Highly recommended for people who want to have a meaningful experience in Bali.

Worth every penny! Take a tour with knowledge guides— women run business— knowledgeable about Balinese history, architecture, culture and customs - just enough story telling to bring Ubud to life in new and meaningful ways! If you have questions, they have lots of answers! Pleasant experience, and would definitely recommend to anyone who is new to Ubud, or those who have been here many times and never understood the reasons why things are done the way they are here!

I started the walking tour with Khana and Win this morning and a wonderful lady from Germany named Caroline. We walked down to the river and back up to Gunung Lebah temple. The history of this area was explained and questions answered. I then became unwell and didn’t finish the tour. However, I cannot thank the team for their support and care while accompanying me to a nearby clinic, waiting to see I was ok and organising a driver back to my hotel. I will certainly look forward to finishing the tour at a later date. As a solo traveller, thank you all so much.

Ubud story walks is amazing!! Cannot recommend enough. Our guides Win and Kelly were able to share local history and cultural insights you cannot get anywhere else. We are so grateful for the opportunity to explore with them and learned so much. We were feeling a bit discouraged by all the tours offered elsewhere targeting wannabe influencers. Ubud Story Walks was the perfect antidote for us and provided a deliberate and engaging experience that had made our trip in Bali. Plus the guides of Ubud Story Walks are just super genuine and nice people. They went as far as to steer us to their favorite restaurant after the tour. It was amazing! They also gave us an amazing suggestions list with super local insights. This needs to be every conscious travelers’ first stop in Ubud.

My husband and I did the Ubud Story Walk the morning after arriving in Ubud. Khana was our wonderful guide and she was ably assisted by Windari who was in training. It was a very pleasant and informative morning with both women clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about Ubud's history. We left with a much better understanding of the history of Hinduism in Bali as well as an understanding of the significance of the different features of the temples we saw. I recommend Ubud Story Walks wholeheartedly.

What a wonderful tour, there was a little bit of everything, history art and local cultural beliefs all thrown in to a couple of very pleasant hours. We were shown important and historic sites of Ubud with the gentleness I have come to appreciate of the local Balinese. So many of my general questions about Balinese culture were answered, with a twist of humor. While it was on foot, it was not physically challenging.

Even before starting the tour the booking communication was easy and quick and very welcoming. We booked the ‘past to present’ tour The tour itself was really interesting and Khana and Windari made all the places we visited come to live with their detailed explanation and stories. We did not like Ubud at first (very crowded and a lot of traffic) but Khana and Windari showed us so much beauty and let us learn from their knowledge that they won us over. We recommend the tour to everybody who likes to discover the history of Ubud and see it with different eyes.

I strongly recommend the experience offered by the Ubud Story Walks team. The experience was guided by Khana and Windari, both open-minded, kind, and empathetic. The tour is designed in a way that makes you feel as if a friend is telling you a story about the past, linking facts and cultural insights with the present culture of Bali. To top it off, the mid-time snack was delicious!

Fantastic tour, highly recommend it as a great way to find out about the history of Ubud. Khana our guide was knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and answered all of our questions, even obscure ones! Easy walking, a few slopes but at a slow pace, very easily achievable. Well planned tour, the flow was logical. If you want more than shopping and rice fields this tour is for you.

Ubud Story Walks was definitely a highlight of our time in Ubud. Our 2 lovely guides, Khana and Win, were very knowledgeable and interesting and we learned so much about the history and culture of this area, as well as having a lot of laughs. They took us to beautiful areas where there were no other tourists, answered all our questions with very good English, and we had a delicious morning tea in stunning surroundings. You need a reasonable level of fitness to navigate some of the hills and steps but they would probably tailor the tour to meet your needs. Highly recommended.

Ubud Story walks was a truly wonderful morning. Our guide Khana was very knowledgeable about Ubud and its history and had perfect English. We learnt about past members of the Royal family, artists, Buddhism, beliefs and Balinese culture. Our walk was relaxed and we stopped for refreshments along the way. Khana had a lovely sense of humour and was delightful. I would recommend Khana and Ubud Story Walks to anyone.

We had a great experience in Ubud with our tour guides. So nice to finally understand some more of this beautiful country. We are just in Ubud here for a few days but others lived here & for both of us it was really interesting! We could ask all our questions & loved all the info they gave us. Highly recommend to do this tour!

This was my first time to Bali and it was so wonderful to see the beautiful buildings unique to Bali on the drive from the airport to our scenic accomodation. The walking tour was amazing as it gave me and my family the history of the unique architecture and people of Bali. It was very powerful to hear the history while standing and admiring the view of a temple that the tour guide was discussing as well as the paintings and artifacts of this mysterious and beautiful lsland. The host and guide were very articulate and knowledgeable about the places on the tour and we're very approachable to answer any questions. They were also very friendly and fun to spend time with on the walk making me feel comfortable and at ease on the tour. I highly recommend this tour whether you are a history buff or you are looking for a way to understand this scenic islands unique culture. This tour is a must do on your things to do on your trip to Bali or even if you live here.

My wife and I did the Ubud: Past To Present tour with Khana as our guide. Her local knowledge and background in archaeology really enhanced the experience. The tour was a great way to get ourselves situated in Ubud and Khana was able to answer all the questions we had about Balinese culture and history. Highly recommended!
