A little piece of paradise lost in the forest. Breakfast is really delicious and meals are prepared with you by a fantastic chef. It is perfect to take a break and admire the beautiful ricefield that surrounds the place. Hosts are really friendly and welcoming. I would love to come back someday !

Tepi Sawah is like a hidden gem on lower hills of Mt. Batukaru. This place is simple, nicely built in beautiful valley. Owner is such a sweet heart and ready to share her local knowledge of nature, culture and spirit of Bali. We will definitely return to this place!!!

Our stay at the Tepi Sawah lodge was the highlight of our trip to Bali. It is a truly magical place, hidden between forests and rice fields and has great spirit. It is the perfect spot to relax and unplug, to get away from the city, and to do some great trekking. The lodge only has two rooms, which are very nicely furnished and have everything you need. Everything is very new, including the beautiful open air bathroom. There is a nice common area and hammocks between the trees. Breakfast was also the best we had in Bali. We got delicious fruit, sticky rice with mango and the awesome Balinese green pancakes with palm sugar. For dinner, Adi (the owner) invited Kadek and and some friends. We cooked together and they played some music - it was not only tasty but the atmosphere was really special. We can also highly recommend the trekking tours with Kadek, who is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. He taught us a lot about the land, local customs and the nature. Don‘t miss the chance to come here!

(Translated by Google) If you want to be away from the world ... this is the place! Perched on top of a terraced rice field, the place is clean, the people very attentive and you are right next to the Batukau temple, and Jatiluwih rice fields! (We saw people go by bike) Only downside: in case of rain (recurring in the area) the mud track is impassable by car and therefore 5 min slippery! The owner is planning the path ... business to follow!

We absolutely loved staying at Tepi Sawah Lodge! Unfortunately, we only booked one night. We would have loved to stay longer at this calm and authentic place. Dewi is such a lovely person and made us feel at home from the first minute. The food was delicious abd we loved that she uses only regional products! We absolutely recommend staying at Tepi Sawah Lodge if you are looking for a more authentic and „in-to-the-woods“ experience:)

Great place to stay in Bali. So quiet, out of everything, really relaxing and with amazing Dewi who takes care of the place. She is really kind, caring and is willing to help if you need anything. We also had a jungle tour with Putu, another amazing person, he can teach a lot about Balinese habits and culture. Can’t wait to come back one day. David and Jana.

This is by far the most special place I stayed... ever... The view, the sound of nature, the location... A place to relax and where time is not important. Via steps and stones you can walk down to your tiny house. Inside a large comfortable bed and outside a balcony with a amazing view at the rice fields. Your private shower and toilet are below the balcony. The owner and her crew are very friendly and helpful. When eating a homemade breakfast or diner, you can enjoy the amazing view... I know for sure that one day we will return here to stay a few days longer...

Writing this review a little too late....what can I say about this place....far away from the craziness of Seminyak and canguu is this little hidden gem in the midst of nature.... untouched and pure....if you love nature be rest assured all your worries will melt away....the rooms are minimalistic but clean and cozy....the roofless bathroom is another experience....the hostess is kind and sweet.....the food though simple and rustic is delicious.... you will wake up to the sounds of nature and the greenery around will calm even the most anxious being....just go here....and you will experience Bali in it's raw and beautiful form!!

This was an amazing place with wonderful people! The lodge is beautiful, in the middle of a ricefield in a very quiet place. It’s perfect for person who wants to connect with local people and have a peaceful rest. The staff was so nice and everything was so easy. I had very good food and the 1 day trip with Putu was an amazing moment! I 100% recommend this place and hope I’ll be back one day :)

Had a great couple of nights here at this quiet place in the jungle. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and chill. If you're looking for an isolated place to focus and relax, this is a nice place. However, if you're going to be working online here and rely on the internet, the Wi-Fi signal was next to nothing. I managed to send a few things with the pocket Wi-Fi the hotel provided us, but other than that I couldn't go online at all. If I was purely on vacation and didn't have to work at all, I would have stayed here longer, but I needed an internet connection. There is a temple up the hill that you can visit and if you rent a motorcycle you can go to the rice terrace that's about a 30 minute drive away that was really nice. I would also recommend that you prepare for this, because nearby in town there are no shops or mini-marts. Breakfasts were really good here. Even though the weather here is cooler, I think the hotel should still provide an electric fan at least.

We had the most happy 9 days at Tepi Sawah, a garden style accomodation situated in a village not too far from the Jatiluwih rice terraces. Dewi, Adi and Kadek, ensured everything was taken care of always going above and beyond what was required for a nice stay in the jungle/rice terraces. Good bicycles, organising drivers, beautiful breakfast spreads of local special foods, and a very interesting tour with Kadek of the rice fields including a traditional lunch with a beautiful jungle based family. Kadek of Tepi Sawah is very caring and always ready with a laugh. Dewi and Adi took us to some music/dancing performance which was great and because they speak English fluently we learnt a lot about life there. Being mindful that mosquitoes, insect sounds, humidity and a jungle type environment are all part of the fun experience and to manage expectations as such, overall highly recommended.

It was the best part of my trip in Bali. And certainly the best accommodation I had there! I was supposed to stay just for 2 nights. However, as I arrived and saw how beautiful it is, I decided to extend my stay for 6 nights. I highly recommend Tepi for people who like nature and want to experience authentic Bali, which is not so easy nowadays. While staying there, I learnt a lot about the culture. Dewi is extremely generous and kind person who wants you to have the best experience there. For me, she is my Balinese family. I did trekking in the jungle with Putu and the tour on a motorbike with Kadek, and even had a massage. Everything in one place. I loved the food! I used to have lunches there as well as dinners. It was always EXTRAORDINARY and at very good price! They do not use sugar, just sweet palm liquid. They take all the ingredients from the local community or just from the garden in Tepi. For me, it is an OASIS in the middle of rice terraces and the jungle! I LOOOOOVED my open cabin. It was so unique and peaceful when it was raining. I could just listen to the rain and be happy.

I had the most wonderful time in this place, in the middle of nature, rustic athmosphere, the room was so beautiful I was feeling so peaceful and good energy. There is a cute room to practice yoga or meditation, the owner is a wonderful woman with a kind heart I was feeling like spending time with family member sharing stories of life. And many beautiful walk to do around and beautiful spots to visit. There is also a very cute dog. I recommend to stay there !

Fantastic stay - intimate and unique Bali experience. The cooking class was such a pleasant surprise and they used local ingredients from their property! If you want an authentic Balinese experience without the tourist pricing or hassle come here!

Dewi, our host, is a friendly, lovely person. We learned a lot about Balinese life from her and we loved our cooking class. Both she and the cooks were especially responsive to my 9 year old grandson. The rooms were rustic and beautiful, the beds comfortable, the outdoor bathrooms exotic. We asked for my grandson to meet other local children and she made that happen. He was so looking forward to experiencing the jungle and if it had not been raining Dewi would have arranged a jungle walk for us. We asked for a certain turmeric tonic that we had at a previous stay and she had some made by a local woman and brought in.....and more. If you are looking for a non-touristy quiet cultural experience in a different terrain in Bali, this is the place. The breakfast was ok, a little light compared to other stays in Bali but the dinners were huge and very good. Don't come here if you are squeamish about jungle nature or can't navigate a lot of steps as the place is on terraced land.

We have spent 2 unforgettable nights in Tepi Sawah. Dewi, Adi and Kaduk were so nice to us that we felt like part of their family. We tasted authentic local food, which we learned to cook ourselfs with them, enjoyed beautiful nature and experienced the jungle trekking with Kaduk, who was the best guide we could possibly imagine. If we go to Bali again, we will be back for sure. Already missing the place and people :).

We are traveling for 2,5 months and we wanted to see the Jatiluwih rice fields and booked the lodge based on the excellent reviews as well as their location. Previous to our arrival the hosts, Adi and Debi, asked us if we wanted a dinner (for a very fair price). Accepting that offer, we were welcomed by an extraordinary dinner including dessert and hot tea. The little farm house overlooking the own rice fields was very comfortable and the bathroom was exceptional. The next days we had the honor to start the day with a very delicious, local healthy breakfast including coffee and tea of course. It felt like home, despite being strangers in the middle of Bali thousands of kilometers away from our actual home. Asking about an opportunity to rent a scooter, adi organized enough scooters for our whole group the very next morning. Some of our group had some private problems and the hosts were very to help us any time. Perfect service and hospitality aside, the rooms were very clean, the Wi-Fi was acceptable and the lodge in general was very good. An absolute recommendation from us.

Tucked in the rural part of Bali Tepi Sawah lodge is a great place to experience off beat Bali. Lot of places to explore around. Dewi is a great host and the food is simple mostly vegetarian but absolutely tasty. However if you are working remotely note that the WiFi can only be accessed in the kitchen area. Overall great place to stay and experience nature.

Loving so much this Lodge. Perfect place to rest and getting close to nature, peaceful and surrounded by the sound of nature. The room is simple and cozy. Traditional food is wonderful. Rice and other ingredients grown in the garden. A highly recommended place to visit.

Tepi Sawah Lodge is in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by rice fields, and it was so green and so calming! Dewi and her husband Adi are the nicest people and they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Even though we stayed only one night, when we told them it was our honeymoon, we came back to this cute table setting. The food was prepared by Dewi and was delicious, as is obvious from the fact that I couldn’t stop myself long enough to take a proper picture! When my husband said that he liked the welcome tea that was offered, Dewi gave us a complete pack and later texted me to inform us where we can buy more. Little Louie and Pico were just adorable (as you can see) and they made the place even better. You can also organize hiking trips or take cooking classes at the premises, which we didn’t have time for. Next time! :)

Amazing place! The lodges are in a beautiful natural place, near the scenic but not crowded Subak Piak Ricefields, and also near Batukaru temple (you can go to both by foot). The breakfast and dinner was delicious. Dewi and her husband are adorable, they will take care of you (but without being intrusive), and they can organise activities like Trek, cooking class... We had an amazing stay here, thank you!
