PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB IT, IT MAY FALL. This is a perfect object of interest for people of different types like, archeologists, historians, geologists, adventurous explorers and conspiracy theorists! This rock is also referred as split rock because it’s like a mushroom rock split in the middle with two separate bases. The split line is perfect in shape, size and surface finish as if it is cut by some advanced technology like laser cutting. That’s why some conspiracy theorist attributes it to alien life from the outer space or some very advanced ancient civilization on earth. Geologists say that it is formed naturally. There might be some softer layer of rock material in between which is eroded by the forces of nature like wind and rain and heat from sun. The finishing touch is given by natural sand blasting process using wind energy. The fine drawing of horse/camel shaped animal held by human. It is said that the drawing is about 4000 years old. It is an important evidence of domestication of animals in the region. The place is difficult to access. It needs 4X4 vehicle with good ground clearance. It is advised not to go alone.

5km off tarmac, driving on loose sand and flat rocks, following a trail, in the middle of nowhere, you will see an amazing rock formation. The cut down the middle is so straight and precise that it's hard to believe that it happened due to forces of nature. You will also see petroglyphs on the flat side of the rock, at the top and bottom. Request to all who wish to visit this place is not to litter the place, or draw/write/ paint on the rock.

The place is beautiful. You can reach the Al Naslaa laser rock by hiking 1 hr 20 minutes including picture taking if you do not have 4WD. Just leave your car at the paved road and start the trek. I suggest to visit the place by winter. The place is full of different weird natural rock formation. One of which is the snake head.

This is a truly amazing place and is definitely worth a visit. However, if you have never driven off-road before, please park your car on the roadside and walk to the destination. Other wise your car may get stuck in the sand, as we experienced. Fortunately, a local guide came to our aid with his reliable truck and took us to the way to the rock. He is really a good person. He saved us, gave us a ride to the rock and he refused to accept any reward. We highly recommend hiring a local guide for your visit.

Parked my car on the closest Highway Spot and walked for about an hours through the desert. You do not see the rock from the street. But even offline Google Maps was useable. Could always Check my Position.

The Al Naslaa rock formation is a rock formation located 50 km south of the Tayma oasis in Saudi Arabia. It has been split down the middle into two parts, both of which are balanced on small pedestals.

The place is for adventure lovers, don't try to go alone, 4x4 vehicles are recommended with recovery tools and tackles, otherwise better to discover the area by walking, download the offline maps before going there and take some water and cookies with yourself, try to go early time and try to reach first Chinese dragon rock, then baby elephant rock and finally the Alnasla rock formation...

👍👍 Not exactly sure what the name of this mountain is, but a local who drove past informed our group it's called "Harp Rock". Given the shape, seems appropriate. The sandstone rock is super interesting as it upon first look it appears that the rock is one whole piece but when one walks around, it turns...
