Archaeological, historical, and sacred site. This location holds great historical and Islamic significance. Known by another name, Mugha'ir Shu'ayb, it is situated in the Al-Bad town, the ancient city of Madyan. Despite having some of the most exquisite massive tombs reminiscent of the old Nabatean kingdom's architecture, it is still mostly unknown.

An ancient archeological site with a number of burial/tomb sites to see and explore. Watch out for the bats in some of the darker areas :)

We can see Nabatian and Roman thombs here. Archeological department is well maintained this place. We can walk around this places. Best time to visit this place is winter(jan-Feb) because in summer we can’t afford the heat in this area. We can reach this place easily.

A sacred & historical place, most of which is now left in ruins, open for public access, You may see many Americans visiting this archaeological site, it’s beautiful yet scary as to what’s left of a civilization. These are carved shelters or cemeteries inside the mountains, how the people of that time did it is still a wonder. This is a very vast site, with numerous stairs, after you reach the top, it’s a spectacular view.

One of the ancient city of Nabataean people living here in this part of Saudi Arabia long time ago. The Nabataeans were one of several nomadic Bedouin tribes that roamed the Arabian Desert in search of pasture and water for their herds. They emerged as a distinct civilization and political entity between the 4th and 2nd centuries BCE, with their kingdom centered around a loosely controlled trading network that brought considerable wealth and influence across the ancient world. Wikipedia. As a visitor in this place, its nice to see that this place is still intact and being preserve. But some of the sites has been vandalized with people's names and etc. But still I'm very humbled to experience and see this place in person, because I can imagine the past of Saudi Arabia and how it develop. I also discovered that this ancient Arabs are sophisticated people even pre islamic era. This part of Nabataean kingdon is smaller compared to Al ula or in Petra city in Jordan but still its significant is big. Because it will gave us an idea about the reach of the Nabataean kingdom and how they manage their civilization. We visited this place on last days of December 2020 at 12noon it is still hot around 24 degrees centigrade. I advice you to visit this place on the Middle to last week of January or 1st week of February, it might be cold obmn that time. This place is accessible to the road and there is parking and a museum in the front were you'll find all the discoveries in this place. Dont missed this historical place and make as part of your itinerary when visiting Tabuk in the winter.

شعیب علیہ السلام، SHUAIB, meaning: "who shows the right path") is an ancient Midianite Nabi (Prophet) in Islam, and the most revered prophet in the Druze faith.[1] Shuayb is traditionally identified with the Biblical Jethro, Moses' father-in-law. Shuaib is mentioned in the Quran a total of 11 times.[2] He is believed to have lived after Ibrahim (Abraham), and Muslims believe that he was sent as a prophet to a community: the Midianites,[3] who are also known as the Aṣḥāb al-Aykah ("Companions of the Wood"),[4][5][6][7] since they used to worship a large tree. To the people, Shuaib proclaimed the straight path and warned the people to end their fraudulent ways. When the community did not repent, Allāh (God) destroyed the community.

Over the weekend this site only opens at 4pm. What a pity! We had travelled especially to see this site and were not able to enter. I was really disappointed - we could see a bit from the fence but that's not the same as being up close. We did not know about this site and were really excited to see a second Madein Saleh. It looked amazing and reports I have read from visitors who has entered were amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

Tomb site, 16 tombs, mostly Nabatean but one Roman tomb. Smaller and not as spectacular as Hegra but still interesting, scenic surroundings, very quiet.

The holy Qur'an states that Shuaib alaihe Salam  was appointed by God to be a prophet to the people of Midian. The people of this land were said to be especially notorious for cheating others through dishonesty and for idolatry. Madyan is an archeological site located in the northwestern Arabian Peninsula, in the region of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

Unbelievable and majestic. Grasping the fact that these are the ruins of area where once Prophet lived and stayed totally changed your perspective. Lovely to visit and easy to navigate and the good part is that it is not only open for public but also has a small museum now with bathroom facilities. Great for anyone who wishes to visit and understand the history

Mugha’ir shuiab is a must visit place for history lovers, the site is located on the road well sign posted and open for public. There is a tourism office next to it, car parking is avilable but no wheelchair approach to the site is available.

Hours changed: weekends (Fri/sat) it’s open 3-5, weekdays it’s open 9-4. We just went on a Friday and I don’t recommend it as everyone is also going on their day off. It was very crowded and difficult to take pics as everyone just kind of lingers around on their phones or is giving a tour to someone on what’sapp. The tombs are mostly worn away and with people scrambling all over them, probably won’t be around much longer. It could be a better site with more regulations and information about the tombs. It’s still worth a visit if you’re interested in Nabatean history.

One could understand why the area had been occupied through the ages. Creating living areas out of the sand, with an amazing view of the valley. This must have been the ideal place
