    This is a great place - popular with locals and tourists. They do a roaring trade in the morning. The fish soup is very fresh and tasty. I like the little entree dishes as well. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Parking available round the back if there's none along the shop front.

    It was a very 'fishy' meal in a small restaurant with a great atmosphere. The menu wasn't extensive but the place definitely knew how to cook fish. The fishballs were amazing! I wish they didn't run out of cabbage or braised tofu though, would have loved to try those. There's a bus stop right outside the restaurant that goes to the city and this place is a 20-30 minute walk from the Tree House or Fort.

    A great Taiwanese local restaurant especially milky fish dishes. There is no aircon so it can be hot during day time. The prices are very good so it is kind of a budget restaurant and the seating is quite crowded. There is also a long queue for takeaway options. The porridge shop is also very popular and great for a quick bite! In addition, there are plenty of other Taiwanese dishes you can enjoy but it may take a bit longer to cook. Cash seems to be preferred and I am not sure whether you can pay by credit card / debit card, so please check.

    Highly recommend their fish skin congee (魚皮粥) the fish skins comes with a layer of fish meat, so tender and fresh! The broth is very flavourful as well. Pan fried fish tummy (煎魚肚) is another must order dish here. The crust is super crispy and meat is again very tender.

    Popular local restaurant in Tainan. Always need to queue but the line moved quickly. Cause there were lots of seats and everyone just stayed 20min. I love their pan-fried milkfish belly (a little bit fat but really delicious) and fish soup! How fresh it was. A variety of side dishes you can choose.

    One of the best milkfishes I've ever had, especially the pan-fried one, with crispy skin and tender meat. As for the soup, compared with the fish belly, My friend and I prefer the one with fish skins as the belly may be too fat for soup (but PERFECT for pan-fried). Cash only. They have washroom on the back (but a mobile one so not very convenient to use).

    Solid place! Not sure how English friendly. Everything is in Chinese and I had a local friend help order. Had some solid fish skin soup and other things. Best part about this place was at 130pm it was not busy at all. So plan food accordingly and come then, and you’ll get food quickly and deliciously! Also it’s right along the river so it’s nice and cool along with being a beautiful location. I recommend this to any traveler coming to Tainan!

    Non pretentious and extremely popular eatery for fish. Came half an hour before closing and it was still packed with locals. Had the fried fish with soup and rice, fish balls, stir-fry cabbage and oyster soup on rice. Simple food but great taste.

The staff were super friendly and helpful and I followed their advice on food choice and ended up with fishskin soup, fried fish belly and abowl of rice. Fantastic!

    Really liked the soup with fish balls. Egg was fully precooked so that was not worth the money. Dough sticks with gravy were OK. Just wish it was fresher/hotter. Fried fish was delicious but watch out for tiny bones! Long line no matter what time of day it is even close to closing time when I went. But the line moved quickly since everyone usually only stays for 15-20min at most and you can usually find a spot to share with another patron pretty easily.

I would recommend you take your out-of-town visitors here for a taste of traditional Tainan food.
