We were only three people, so we couldn’t order a lot. The food is amazing, really miss Taiwanese food when you live abroad! The staff are extremely nice and great hospitality! Would love to come back again, hopefully bringing more people and order more! Highly recommend to book and pre-order most of their dishes as they are truly amazing! Some dishes are only available when you pre-order.

Two of us came for lunch and the menu is not catered for small group as they specialise in banquet delicacies. We did not ordered the signature dishes like red crab sticky rice or duck soup but the eel and deep fried cuttle fish and shrimp balls with a dish of bean sprouts. All very good , authentic and down-to-earth. One of the waiters, who is probably the next generation as he looks like the owner, was too polite. From a tourist perspective, there is some room for improvement: try to expand the menu to cater for small groups or couples as well as use higher grade rice (Taiwan has many top quality rice).

Delicious and authentic Taiwanese/Tainanese cuisine. Friendly staff. English/Japanese picture menu available. Difficult to order for small group due to large portion sizes. Competing restaurant, Ah-Xia, nearby.

Crowed and the food is genuine local southern Taiwan taste. Highly recommend duck soup pot. Not too expensive but pricier than average (in Tainan).

Came here as it was a restaurant featured in the Michelin guide (not sure how this kind of quality can end up being recommended!). Pre ordered their 2 signature dishes, the duck soup that was supposedly boiled for over 5 hours and the steam mud crab on glutinous rice and added a steam cod fish, stir fried dried scallops with egg, fried yee mee and stir fried cabbage. Both the signature dishes were a disappointment. The soup was very bland is almost no different to any soup that you can boil at home except the one we boil at home probably taste better. The steam crab was way overcooked. The steam cod fish was no different as well. Again way overcooked while the yee mee was again very bland. The stir fried dried scallops and egg was OK but I was personally put off by the preserved bamboo they use to stir fried the dish with as the preserved bamboo has this pungent smell that I dislike. Only the stir fried cabbage tasted quite nice and has a good amount of "wok hei". Service was OK with staff being fairly polite but apart from that nothing much to shout about. Price was way too overpriced for what it we ordered at NT4000. For that price, we have had much better food in Taiwan at a much fancier restaurant. The restaurant when we are there were fairly quiet with other tables most made up of tourist so this place is a definite tourist trap which I will suggest to avoid.

Their specalty dishes are really good. Duck casserole-looks blah but really tasty. It is a big bowl for 6+ people to share. The crab with sticky rice is also worth trying. Service is sub par for the price. Go for just their top dishes and you'll be fine.

Foods are really good especially sausage, mushroom and some fried foods. Desserts are also really nice. Bowl, chopstick and place are clean. Staff services is also good.

Celebrated the end of a 4 year posting in Taiwan. Good combination of fresh ingredients, proven recipes, and what I think would be a very very hot flame resulting in an excellent meal where each dish stood on its own.

The location is in the center of the downtown, so parking is a problem. Other than that everything was good.
