Short 20 minute boat ride along a short and narrow man-made waterway. It's okay for the price. There are about 30 people on tiny plastic stools on a boat that should fit 20. The "guide" is shouting in a microphone the entire time (in Mandarin only) so forget about having some quiet nature time. Lots of garbage in the water too. If you're interested in nature, skip this place and go further up in the national park.

Forget the mangrove trees. The little museum next to the ticket booth is the real star of the show: some talented individual put googly eyes on all dried fish on display, giving them a variety of expressions and personalities. The actual green tunnel is fairly short: the boat ride is about half an hour and cost 200NTD in 2023. If you haven’t seen mangroves I think it’s worth the trip and money. The explanations and narration by the guides on the boat is very good. However it is only in mandarin.

(Translated by Google) Going on March 3, 2021, the crowd is not as much as before You can board the ship soon after you buy the ticket I really didn't push this itinerary very much! ✍️The person sitting in the middle can't see it at all! There are a lot of people in one boat, but only the left and right sides and the first row have a better view. I sit in the middle of the third row, and I am madly blocked by the two Vietnamese people in front. The Vietnamese take pictures and live broadcasts from start to finish. How can it not affect others... Obviously spent two hundred yuan and didn't see anything 🙄 ✍️The guide's speech contains marinated eggs Each boat will be equipped with a navigator, although there is a little bee (amplifier), I still can’t understand what she is talking about... ✍️The summary is not to push! Although it's pretty, it's too cheating!

Interesting place to visit. Try to get a front or back seat on the boat if you plan on taking photos.

Something different about Taiwan. It's a fees applicable attraction. Very reasonably priced. Very detailed explanation by guide on the boat about the swamp ecosystem. Very entertaining if you can understand mandarin and "Ming lan yu". Guide are from the local fisherman community. The boat ride is about half an hour and equipped with safety jacket. The swamp stream brings you into the trees formation like an arch towards the end of the stream. There is a garden and Chinese temple to visit in its vicinity.

I would say this is worth adding to a trip out towards Anping. Would highly recommend mosquito repellent or longer sleeved clothing. The mosquitos were out for blood. I don't think I got any noticeable bites, but the sound of people slapping mosquitos off themselves echoed through the whole trip Our day was a little overcast so not ideal, but still pretty cool to see. The wildlife was somewhat difficult to spot but we managed to spot quite a few on the way back. The orchids outside the ticket area were very impressive. Unfortunately the Temple seemed to be mostly closed for renovations. There was some sort of problem with online ticket purchasing my Uncle experienced. I would recommend just buying the tickets in person as there was no line when we went.

Would skip this “attraction” usually. Seems like a tourist trap for tour groups imo. Our younger kids enjoyed it somewhat as it was a different kind of experience and the weather was pleasant. It’s located beside a gorgeous temple slightly further out of the way. There is also a tiny exhibition of some animal remains beside the ferry office which runs on a donation basis.

Calming boat ride which reduces stress! Affordable too! When you are riding the boat, you have to duck the branches to not get hit by them! 🤣 The instructor was very funny too! I will recommend this 30 min boat ride!

I rarely write a review where I am this enthused about something I've just done, but this is one of them. The mangroves are absolutely gorgeous and I actually signed up twice in the same day. Go see this tunnel!

It's a nice experience, the ride was not as long as expected but it was still enjoyable. They provide those cute hats to protect yourself from the sun and will nicely stop at some points for people to take pictures. The guides were really kind and tried their best to speak English. The ticket is NTD $200 and the ride is about 30 mins. If you go there you should use sunscreen and be early, there's a lot of people. If you don't have a car, don't worry, there are few buses that will take you there but you need to be careful and be on time, otherwise you'll wait a long time for the next bus.

Fun and unique experience of a coastal mangrove ecosystem. The sight of crabs, mudskippers, and egrets was great (aside from plenty of garbage along some portions of the coastline). We waited less than five minutes to be on the water. The guide did speak only in Mandarin. Ducking under some branches was fun.

Absolutely love it. Please go earlier to avoid the crowd. We arrived at around 10ish and waited in line for about 1 hour. But it is still a worthwhile experience to try. Do take front or back seats if you could to have better view in taking photos.

Despite its called Amazon (in Tainan), I’m not impressed at all, especially it’s charged $200 per person for a short boat ride going through a green tunnel. Apparently, this was a canal to get the ocean water to manufacture salt back then. Nowadays, it was converted to a sightseeing boat ride. We got there before 9 am and were told the first ride is scheduled at 10 am unless we got 30 riders before that time. Luckily, a tour bus arrived to provide 20 some people to avoid a long waiting. Anyway, it’s very unlikely that I’ll go back to have the boat ride again.

A short boat ride, but it was a nice and scenic experience. Do opt for the longer ride as they cost the same, but you get to enjoy more sights. They will only begin the boat ride once a certain pax is reached, so do expect some waiting time.

Small crab, big crab, white fish, black fish Quick tour for nice pictures Explanations in mandarin but easy to understand We did the small tour. A minimum of 30 people is needed, therefore you will need to wait for other people to make the count, but it is very quick We loved it

Didn't expect the amazing trip until you see it yourself. It's such a beautiful place. Purchase ticket and wait in line for next available yacht. Even it's just a river with not deep but they will provide a life jacket. Both side of trees cover up the river like a tunnel. You may see tidal creatures as well. Recommended!!

The mangrove forests on both sides of the waterways grow together towards the center, intertwining to form a dense semi-dome of green shrubbery, stacking layer upon layer to create a deep corridor, not knowing the end and appearing mysterious, thus giving the Sicao Green Tunnel its moniker “Little Amazon”. Tourists from home and abroad come in droves, waiting in line to get on the raft that leads to this green wonderland. The sightseeing rafts rock gently with the ripples, the breeze caressing the visitors’ cheeks, carrying the weight of the warmth of the sunlight, as the rafts shuttle through this city's secret green realm. Push forward to the end, into the deep realms of this enchanting mangrove, and unveil the final highlight of the journey. The calm waters of Sicao Green Tunnel reflect another world of mangroves. Nature inadvertently reveals a world where the real and mirror reflections create a visual spectacle that looks like a “lip”. Some people call it the Angel's Kiss, while others call it the Green Eye. What we know is that it is a precious gift from the Sicao Green Wonderland to visitors. 📍 Sicao Green Tunnel(四草綠隧) 🚙 No. 360號, Dazhong Rd, Annan District, Tainan City, Taiwan 709 ⏰ 08:00 – 16:00 📱 +886-6-2841610 💰 Mangrove Tunnel: NT$200 for full admission, NT$100 for children, NT$100 for concession tickets

The line to take the boat was very long probably due to the new year holidays but even if there was no queue I think my two star rating will remain. The boatman and tour guide were professional and kind to an old lady who had difficulty walking. They also gave her a chair to sit in instead of the Low stools that everyone else was on... but I was underwhelmed by the scenery. It was nice but not worth the ticket price or the time taken to take the ride... also quite a short ride. Think the children enjoy it though. We did see some hermit crabs along the way and a special looking bird.

A 20-30 min raft ride with great scenery and short explanation of the planets, wild life, and history of the location. The view is surreal. They stop the raft for you to take pictures. Highly recommended for visitors to TaiNan.

The journey is a bit shorter than I expected (a bit shorter than 30 mins). There is no schedule, they will depart when there are 30 passengers. The waiting time usually is not long. Don't know if there is English guide for foreigners. There was a lady on my boat introduced the ecology of the mangrove during the journey and it was interesting. The boat will turn around at the end of the journey and go back to the pier using the same route. You will definitely see many Chinese style graves on one side of the river bank. Enjoy!

  • 5/5 Radu S. 3 years ago on Google
It's a nice place for taking some artistic pictures. If you're not a nature freak, don't bother with going there on public holidays or weekends, the wait for the boat trip is very long and you will end up spending a few hours for two pictures (not worth it). One boat trip takes about 30 minutes.

Trail was short. Weekend full and if you are unlucky you can end un in the middle part of boat unable to see the whole beautiful scene. I was lucky to be at the back on the side and could turn around and see the tunnel. It is a beautiful place for sure but distance, price and amount of people doesn’t help to appreciate it. No student discount 🥲 Still if you are around the area it would be a nice place to pass by. It is worth it if you make a tour of different places around the area but not as one destination. You can use bus 99 and 11 to go there the beach, Anping old street and a beautiful temple near by!
